PPato LuI stayed for one night at Dengba Inn and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The location is excellent—just a few meters from the Zhenxin New Village subway station, which made it very easy to find and convenient for getting around Shanghai.
The hostel has a spacious common area that’s clean, well-lit, and perfect for relaxing or socializing with other travelers. It gave the place a cozy, welcoming vibe.
My room was also larger than expected for a 6-person dorm, with plenty of space to move around and store luggage. The bed was soft and comfortable, and although I had to make the bed myself (which was a bit unusual), the bedding was clean and neatly stored inside the locker along with ample space for my belongings. Once set up, it felt very homey and private.
Bathrooms and shared facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the whole place had a relaxed, backpacker-friendly atmosphere. Staff were polite and helpful, although I didn’t need much assistance during my short stay.
For budget-conscious travelers or those looking for an easy, comfortable place to stay near public transport, I’d highly recommend Dengba Inn. It offers great value for money, with clean rooms, a fantastic location, and a chill vibe that makes it easy to feel at home—even if just for a night.

GGuest UserThe price is cheap and the expectations are not high, but I didn't expect the king-size room to be in such an environment. The sound insulation is very poor, and the footsteps outside can be clearly heard. At more than seven in the morning, the construction workers were communicating outside, and I was woken up and couldn't sleep.
The multi-person berth is on the first floor outside, and it won't pass here, which may be better than this.
The door of the king-size room is right under these scaffoldings, and I have been considering it carefully recently.

GGuest UserShared rooms are pretty standard. The AC is blasting which was nice, and which helped circulate the complex mustiness birhed from 8 dudes. The hostel has a nice big common space and a little outdoor area WIFI is pretty decent as well.

QQuang MinhHostel is alright. Quite centrally located. Has a large common area and a rooftop where you can hang out. Can meet people in the lobby but there won't be that many international travelers. Staff doesn't speak English but they generally know what to do. Only hot water dispenser. Hard beds, but I slept well on them. Cleanliness is okay for a Chinese hostel but not on par with international standards. Common area will be covered in trash but you are likely used to that from other places here already. I think this place is okay but I also stepwise lowered by expectations in this country, in particular to what male neighbors are emitting in terms of noise, dirt and cigarette smoke.

RRravlThis is a hostel with multiple double bunker beds in each room. As already pointed out by other guests, there are many long term residents. That means they have a lot of stuff in the room. It is not like youth hostels for travellers. The toilet is clean but very wet. The location is close to the metro station and I find a convenient store downstairs.
