4-Star Hotels in North Sumatra, Indonesia

Had a great stay at Grand Central Premier Hotel! The room was very big, spacious, clean, and well maintained, which made the stay really comfortable. The facilities and amenities are also great. I especially appreciated the welcome drinks during check-in, a nice touch that made the experience feel more premium. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day. Location-wise, it’s very strategic. It’s within walking distance to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. Plus, it’s close to Deli Park Mall, one of the nicest shopping malls in the city, so food and shopping options are easily accessible.

No hot water in the shower, a little bit seems dirty/ broken in the bathroom and it doesn’t give the feeling of real luxury, but for this price I think it’s very good still. You have a restaurant which is open 24/7 with friendly servers. The pool is shared by hotel guests with people who pay for usage of the pool, looks clean enough. Staff helped to bring luggage to the room. The location of the hotel is good, it feels a little bit less developed around the hotel tho, but there is a nice mall nearby, maybe 5 minutes with the car.

The road to the resort can imrpive a lot. Came when its rainjng season. Cant do many things. Just do resort tour.  Cab or grab pr other service poor here. Can improve a lot. Easier for foreigners to commute. Or provide a shuttle for us to commute.

I recently stayed at Emerald Garden Hotel in Medan for 7 days and 6 nights, and overall it was a comfortable and pleasant experience. The location is very convenient, making it easy to travel around Medan for food, shopping, and meetings. Housekeeping did a good job every day, keeping everything tidy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, which is important in Medan’s warm weather. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and whenever I needed assistance, the team responded quickly. The breakfast selection was decent, with a mix of local Indonesian dishes and simple international options. It was a good way to start the day before heading out. Facilities like the swimming pool and gym were also available and well maintained. Overall, it was a pleasant 7-day stay, and I would recommend Emerald Garden Hotel to anyone visiting Medan for business or leisure.

The overall experience wasn't great, and the biggest area for improvement is hygiene. The cleanliness of both the room and public areas was subpar; some spots clearly hadn't been properly cleaned. The facilities and amenities also felt quite old, showing years of use, with some even appearing to be deteriorating. For the current price, the overall environment and facilities didn't meet expectations. I hope the hotel can improve its hygiene management and update some of the older equipment to ensure guests have a more comfortable and reassuring stay.

I wish I could say it was ideal, because the hotel has the potential for that - but unfortunately it's not exactly that. The location is super, the building is what you can expect from an ex-Radisson hotel, but the problems with the cleanliness and the very aged bed linen left me a far from perfect first impression. Plus, at 4pm they still didn't have my room ready and asked me to wait 10-15 minutes. After escalating the problem to the manager I got a better room and from there on everything was OK, but the welcome was not at the level I expected.

It was quite good, and the staff were all very polite. The breakfast spread was also quite extensive. If I get the chance to visit Medan again, I'd choose to stay here. Currently, there's construction going on on the road in front of the hotel.

The room was comfortable overall, but I was disappointed to find that one of the towels had visible stains on it. Towels should be clean and spotless for every guest. Housekeeping should inspect them more carefully and replace any stained towels before the room is assigned. I hope the hotel improves its quality control in this area. If you’d like, I can also  make it more concise,  more formal, or  more strongly worded.

It's our 3rd stays in 2026 😀😀. Every staff in the hotel is excellent. This time we choosed to stay at Rm 1615, unfortunately it was too warm weather on the day and air conditioning couldn't make it to level as we need, so we asked to replace another room for the next 2 nights, then all were very good as usual. Breakfast was still very good and with variety of choice. Of course, I just ate what I choose. No more taking a lot of images, all images were already in my past review😀😀
