Salakphet Resort
4.3/510 Reviews
Beautiful structure buit on stilts over the waters with one of the best seafood restaurant of Koh Chang. Large room well equiped nicely decorated and well maintained. Free kayaks to explore the bay or to spend some lovely times at the small white sand beach on Koh Phrao Nok. Best is to rent a scooter to explore the area since the roads are flat and safe on this side of the island. Not only Long Beach or Memorial Beach but Salakphet Temple, the waterfall and the mangrove forest is a must to visit !!! We had a great private tour boat at a very affordable price with several stops on different islands. Just ask the manager Khun Big and she will do her best to fulfil your expectations for a customized experience. Be aware Salakphet is a quiet traditional fishing village so do not expect bars or discos in the surroundings but is a great spot for nature lovers. We could spend only 3 days here and it was not enough to discover everything so we will come back again.

White Sand Beach
Beachfront Hotel with pool and lush greenery all around the pool for shade. Great value. The beds were large, and rooms have fridge and coffee making facilities. Barxand restaurant were OK for breakfast but not a huge menu and not a very well stocked bar, butt's of bars and restaurants nearby.

Lonely Beach / Bai Lan Bay
This hotel has been operating for over 10 yrs. It was good back then and still a good vibe here. Its got to be the best budget option on Lonely beach for sure. The room I was allocated was so clean, nice and had a new feel about it. Large bathroom and fridge in the room. Good price Restaurant food is not bad. The Cambodians working there are friendly. But I imagine they dont suffer fools. If you treat them well they will treat you well. If I were management I would probably keep a closer eye on them to make sure they are being polite to all customers. If you plan to walk into town at nighttime you need a torch. Its not far but dangerous in the dark with the bikes and cars zipping past. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Right on the stunning beach. White sand and nice water. Cant wait to go back!
Makathanee Resort

We had a great stay at Makathanee! We splurged and had a beach view bungalow … which was amazing! The room was spacious, the bed was soft and comfy, the view was amazing and the sound of the surf was loud. The resort grounds are pretty and well maintained. We never went to the pool but walked by and nobody was there. The chairs on the grass by the beach were always full. The beach was clean and inviting and the water was warm. Good things: nice (10/10) staff, good breakfast, nice restaurant on the roof and good location. We had a few meals nearby on the street and rented a bike to explore the island. We also enjoyed the restaurants and bars on the beach nearby. You are not isolated at this resort. Not so good things: the only thing we didn’t like was the old, broken chairs on our patio and on the grass. Not that important- but something they could plan to replace. Great location, peaceful but not boring, great facility
The Tropical Beach Resort
4.2/515 Reviews
Bang Bao Bay
The Tropical Beach is almost the last accommodation on the eastern coast and is very relaxed and idyllic on a very beautiful beach. Directly at the accommodation it is something rocky, but you can also swimming well at flooding. Rd. 300 meters further the beach becomes beautifully sandy and is stoneless. It is here overall super quiet, not full and see beautiful. Just in the morning and evening it was super relaxed. The resort is very beautifully located directly on the water under trees, the bungalows are also concrete and therefore constantly quite cold. Have consistently not needed air conditioning. The equipment is functional, comfortable bed, water cooker etc. Inside would have been just an additional seat option, outside maybe a hanging mat well. The bungalows are just separated, so you can get almost nothing from the other guests. The facility is maintained, staff very friendly and competent. Parking is possible in the shadow right before the resort. The location should be motorized (roller or car), since it is really at the end of the island. In the direct environment there are some very nice restaurants on the beach and in the ”backland”, a mini market etc. ATM or so, but there is no taxi you need to order there (laat) if you want to go elsewhere. The route from the port is great over the slim and curve-rich streets. Very nice and helpful owner who was there at the same time with us. Small deductions because of the things mentioned above in the bungalow that would have made it even more cozy. Some services may be a little overpriced (for example, laundry or bed), but on the beach and the ways behind there are some places where for example, laundry is possible for 1/4 of the price ; -) In total we had 6 great days in this beautiful resort and can recommend a stay fully extensively. If you want to have it quiet and relaxed ;-) Thank you very much for the beautiful time!
15 Palms Beach Resort

White Sand Beach
Heavily talked up all over the Internet we booked 3 nights here for a beach break. On arrival the staff were slow and uninterested during check in. The room was nice but smelt of damp. The owners are aware of this because there were 3 airfresheners in our bathroom. After our first night our room was not cleaned the next day. Upon enquiring that afternoon we learnt that if we wanted fresh towels and the room cleaned etc that we should have put a hanging sign on the room door. Fine, but tell us on check in or have a note in the room to that effect. There was a whiff of using environmental impacts as an excuse for no cleaning. You have to get up early to get a beach chair under the tree for some shade. Would like to suggest that 15 Palms manage the allocation of beach chairs for their residents. Restaurant is overpriced and the Thai food beyond poor. We had 2 curries which were more like watery soup. It's a place to eat Sunday lunch. Staff although good at what they do lacked that Thai smile and attentiveness. Quite often the bar area filled with expats. Nothing wrong with that in the right place but for a beachside family/couples orientated hotel perhaps should be reconsidered?

Koh Kood Far East Resort
4/522 Reviews
The hotel was immersed in a wonderful nature, the cleaning was not perfect and the room was large, but we missed some comfort we used to, like the TV, the light lock and the bedside comfort. There was the minimum necessary, but it was right, breakfast was ”different” from ours, little coffee or milk (not available), but rice and eggs and salted meals. If it happens to you and you do not have too much claims spending the right on this island, it is the hotel that makes for you!
Koh Kood Bed's

I had to give this place a 5 because it would not be fair to give it just a 4, and there is no 4.5 option. It would have been a full 5 if the location was right on a beach but it's just a charming short walk or ride to your choice of several nearby beaches, including the incredible Au Bang Bao beach, which I still dream about. BEDS is in a quiet spot, but a quick walk to a couple of very good restaurants, including the Cicci Thai Cooking School right next door which is open much of the day -- I strongly advise checking it out. Bang Bao Home restaurant nearby, pretty much where the road to Bang Bao beach turns off the main road. Our room was clean, functional, had a view of neighbouring backyards (nicer than it sounds), and a thin but sufficient ***** of concrete deck outside the sliding backdoors, allowing pleasant morning coffee. The bathroom decor was wonderfully quirky. No complaints. But the real story is the staff, and particularly owner Jay, who was very helpful in giving us tips of where to go for this and that, arranging a fair-priced scooter, and when one of us had an unfortunate spill off the scooter, making sure that all was taken care of. He rushed back from a business trip to Trat in fact, to make sure all was good. And Jay spoke excellent English, which is not something one ought to expect, but was a wonderful plus. Other staff, especially Thong, were also helpful. If it's not essential for you to stay at a beachfront resort, I recommend Koh Kood BED's to you.

Klong Prao Beach
Yes, the hotel is getting old, but it has gained in charm! From the bungalow in the garden with sea view (approx. 20 m) to rooms in the main and annex buildings, everything is available, and at reasonable prices! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the rooms are cleaned daily and provided with fresh towels and bed linen. Unfortunately, due to Corona, we had to “escape” in March 2020 and got the penultimate flight home. Now, after more than 2 1/2 years, we are coming back and are really looking forward to “James” and his team! If you don't expect 5 star accommodation you won't be disappointed!
