Salakphet Resort
4.3/511 Reviews
Beautiful structure buit on stilts over the waters with one of the best seafood restaurant of Koh Chang. Large room well equiped nicely decorated and well maintained. Free kayaks to explore the bay or to spend some lovely times at the small white sand beach on Koh Phrao Nok. Best is to rent a scooter to explore the area since the roads are flat and safe on this side of the island. Not only Long Beach or Memorial Beach but Salakphet Temple, the waterfall and the mangrove forest is a must to visit !!! We had a great private tour boat at a very affordable price with several stops on different islands. Just ask the manager Khun Big and she will do her best to fulfil your expectations for a customized experience. Be aware Salakphet is a quiet traditional fishing village so do not expect bars or discos in the surroundings but is a great spot for nature lovers. We could spend only 3 days here and it was not enough to discover everything so we will come back again.

White Sand Beach
Beachfront Hotel with pool and lush greenery all around the pool for shade. Great value. The beds were large, and rooms have fridge and coffee making facilities. Barxand restaurant were OK for breakfast but not a huge menu and not a very well stocked bar, butt's of bars and restaurants nearby.
Shantaa Resort, Kohkood
4.8/558 Reviews
It has taken so long to be able to at long last stay at Shantaa and I was not dissapointed. This little piece of paradise was totally worth the wait! The view from the well appointed and very comfortable villa was magical. The whole place is kept very clean and there are plenty of areas to relax in from the beach to the pool, cafe and restaurant. The food is all cooked to order including the delicious breakfasts. There is plenty to choose from and you will not go hungry. For a totally relaxing break in a tropical paradise you will not find better. You can even arrive and depart directly to the Resort via speedboat. It would be wrong to single out any one of the staff as they all make one great team effort in ensuring your stay is as comfortable as possible. Thank you to everyone and I look forward to my next visit, it will not come soon enough.

We was going to book these bungalows for 8 nights but our card refused payment so we phoned the number on the website and they accepted booking over the phone with no deposit, best thing that’s ever happened to us We arrived at exotic bungalows to be meeted by Demitri who showed us our bungalow, straight away we refused the room dirty shower room ,no where to put clothes, stained sheets, he offered us a alternative room room if we waited for it to be cleaned of which we accepted it had a wardrobe to put our clothes it was still not worth what we paid During the night it rained and our roof leaked in, we woke to our wardrobe being soaked and a massive pool of water around our bed Our friends sat up all night with their roof leaking all over there bed In the morning we went to reception to ask for our money back but was told dimitri had gone to Bangkok for four days so no refund All of the photos on booking.com are deceiving please please don’t book this accommodation it will the worst thing you’ve ever done If you want more info you can contact me on macwaterfield@gmail.com
The Tropical Beach Resort

Bang Bao Bay
A hidden gem at the end of klong Kloi beach. Rooms were spacious, and while there is no pool, the resort is right on the beach and the sea is warm and calm. While we stayed the restaurant was not open, so all guests went to the next resort for breakfast. The staff informed us that the restaurant will reopen next year. They have a masseuse right on the beach who are well worth a visit! The only thing to consider is the distance from the main road, we were pretty mobile and happily took tuk tuk taxis to other parts of the island, but those with kids and/or a lot of luggage might find the location a bit remote. There is a place to rent motorbikes nearby (at a reasonable price) but personally, as this area of the island is very hilly, we chose to not rent and just used taxis instead.
Bhumiyama Plus

Lonely Beach / Bai Lan Bay
Good hotel, large territory: 2 swimming pools for adults, and a small one for children. The territory is green, well-kept. Of the minuses - very loud cicadas. Meals - on the territory of the neighboring hotel (a good restaurant that works in the morning for breakfast, then - like a regular restaurant on the shore) The hotel itself - lived in the cheapest option - a standard room in the complex ”by the road”. Windows - to the territory. The room is large, the bed is huge. They cleaned every day. Bathroom - both a bath and a shower. Of the minuses - loud air conditioning. The rooms are a little tired, but you can live. Nearby there are a couple of shops (not chain), and different options where you can eat. The beach is excellent, right in front of the hotel - uncomfortable stones, but a little to the right - a good sandy beach. The place itself is a little out of the way - tuk-tuks are expensive (150 baht per person to the main party on the white beach).

11/25/23 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friendly ,professional and accommodating staff Very private and quiet location 3 wonderful nights Arrived at 12:00pm . Rooms were available and the wonderful receptionist checked me in early. The room I reserve was older. I viewed the renovated rooms by the reception building and it was magical. Modern, King bed , large tub for two, high ceiling , balcony, rain shower , water kettle , beach and bath towel etc etc . Take my money please !!!!!!! Paid extra , but so worth it( see pics). Breakfast was simple: eggs, pancakes , thai food , instant coffee, tea bags , hot water , fruits and salad. Resort is next to the beach. Fine sand, calm shallow water , very clean and baby elephants playing in the sea. The staff here is what made this resort shine. Always greeted with a smile Plenty of auto and bike parking. Location: 30 min to the ferry/pier 5 minute walk to the main road 5 “. “ to amazing restaurants , bars, live music , massages, cafes , motorbike rentals , ****s shops , etc etc . Best location for all your needs. Lovely stay. Looking forward to my next visit .
15 Palms Beach Resort

Heavily talked up all over the Internet we booked 3 nights here for a beach break. On arrival the staff were slow and uninterested during check in. The room was nice but smelt of damp. The owners are aware of this because there were 3 airfresheners in our bathroom. After our first night our room was not cleaned the next day. Upon enquiring that afternoon we learnt that if we wanted fresh towels and the room cleaned etc that we should have put a hanging sign on the room door. Fine, but tell us on check in or have a note in the room to that effect. There was a whiff of using environmental impacts as an excuse for no cleaning. You have to get up early to get a beach chair under the tree for some shade. Would like to suggest that 15 Palms manage the allocation of beach chairs for their residents. Restaurant is overpriced and the Thai food beyond poor. We had 2 curries which were more like watery soup. It's a place to eat Sunday lunch. Staff although good at what they do lacked that Thai smile and attentiveness. Quite often the bar area filled with expats. Nothing wrong with that in the right place but for a beachside family/couples orientated hotel perhaps should be reconsidered?
Captain Hook Resort @Koh Kood

It was a 3-day-and-2-night trip with my friends and my 9-year-old daughter so we booked 2 villas with a private swimming pool. The villas are not new or super neatly cleaned but all are okay and kind of acceptable. The best thing is the resort staff. They are super nice, fun and friendly. They are ready to drop everything they are doing just to talk to you and answer your question. No matter how silly it is! They make me feel like they are ready to solve all the problems in the world for you, if asked! My daughter loves fishing there (even though she didn't get any fish lol). We borrowed the fishing rod from one of the nicest (probably) front desk staff who didn't seem to be bothered spending time teaching my daughter how to safely use the equipment. Wish I could ask for his name before we left. So I could give him better compliment. The view is just magical. Kayaking is also super fun. The Food is ways, ways better than we expected. The night bartender is a super cool & funny guy. He hosted the funniest Hermit crab racing in the world!
