Montigo Nongsa Resort is a must go for a relaxing retreat in Batam to rest and recharge from the daily rush of City life. Just by simply being there, immersed in the beauty of white washed villas by the sea, you will feel like you're in Greece. Soaking in the scenic view all around you everywhere you go and vibes of a slower pace of life, all the stress slips away. In the resort, commuting is done using a buggy, or you can have a delightful walk discovering paths and scenic places not covered by the buggy. The villa is my beautiful cozy home for the retreat with its own Infinity pool giving me all time access to the magnificent sea view, sunset and cloudy skies overhead. I can lounge on the poolside bench for a sunbath watching the ferries and sea activities or admire the broad expanse of the dark cloudy skies overhead with planes flying above at night truly quietens one's spirit down in an amazing life by the sea. Adding sparks and highlights to the already perfect life here in Montigo Resort is the abundance of daily breakfast at Tadd's Restaurant. The staff here (including Sara and another gentleman staff whom I didn't ask for the name) are amazingly friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant breakfast experience for you. If you have booked recreation activities in advance, you would be pleasantly delighted that staff from the Recreation Club would be there at Tadd's before you come for breakfast to meet you and assure they will bring you to the Recreation activity after breakfast! Wow! What a seamless experience to make you feel so welcome and well taken care of! Thanks to Chyntia, Coco, Yoga, Wahid and Bruhan from the Recreation Club. Chyntia has thoughtfully planned the sequence of the activities when I booked several activities over a few days without fixed dates and time to allow easier booking depending on tidal conditions and other guests' bookings. You can try your hands at the Airsoft Gun. Coco from Recreation Club will guide you on the shooting techniques. As a first timer with Airsoft guns, I'm certainly pleased to have hit 2 targets using 30 pellets. Next is the kayaking. Yoga from Recreation Club will brief you on using the paddle and take photos and videos for you from the shore. Just paddle out to the peaceful sea and take in the entire landscape of Montigo Resort from the kayak. I'm also amazed at the opportunity to see a tiny flat crab clutching onto a floating cardboard raising one leg at me at sea! Another exciting adventure is the ATV! Wahid from the Recreation Club will help you get familiar to the ATV in no time and guide you on a tour to the dirt track and the nearby farm in the ATV if you choose the one hour session! Along the way, he will help take photos and videos to capture your memorable ATV journey. Lastly, you can opt for a 2 hour bike tour to 2 kampungs! Guided by Bruhan from Recreation Club, you will see the captivating rustic local life scenes, the nature and beach along the way. You will also see the mangrove village where paintball activity takes place. Bruhan will also take photos and videos for you when we pause for breaks. Thankfully, Bruhan brought along a bottle of mineral water for me for regular hydration during the tour! It totally skipped my mind to consider bringing water along! To ease the muscle soreness, end the day with a blissful soak in the Infinity pool or warm bathtub with an essential oil bath bomb. Breathe in the aromatic scent and relax. So much wonderful memories and delightful experiences at Montigo Nongsa Resort leaves me looking forward to more!

We had great service from the front desk, Sri and stayed in the 1-bedroom suite with our 1 YO toddler. Room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfy even for our baby. The kids club was spacious enough for the little one to crawl and have fun. Just a word of caution to parents of crawlers, to perhaps let your LO wear dark coloured clothes, as the friction from crawling might rub off some colours from the soft floor mats. We love the pools as well. Breakfast spread was good, balanced between some western and local food. Location wise, it is quiet enough and away from the busy roads, but still very accessible via grab/taxis. Service was also great throughout our stay. We will be back!

Centrally located. Shuttle bus services available to bring us to popular locations, very convenient. Has everything in the hotel. Liked the fact there’s a quiet estate beside the hotel and you can do your morning walks around it. Staffs are very kind, friendly and helpful.

Have stayed in at least more than 20hotels in my lifetime, this is by far the most beautiful and serene hotel ever. Splendid lush landscape with multiple seatings that allow one to relax while immerse with the landscape around. This place just let you reset your busy lifestyle. Love the multiple pools for kids to explore and kids club to entertain the kids. The rooms are superb and clean. Staff are also very courtesy, attentive and hardworking. Everyone walks around with a smile. Bicycles are littered around the estate that allow you to grab and go (the place is quite huge, so a bicycle actually helps alot!). Wifi access is superb too, everywhere we go, we got wifi access (better than our esim!) Guess the only let down is the pillows that seems abit too soft and the food choice is quite limited and not the best tasting, also they are quite expensive. But well, the hotel rooms, staff, amenities are enough to distract us off these small negligent negativity. As such, still 5 stars from us! We had a generally very comfortable stay here. The room was new, clean, and bright, which made it pleasant to come back to after a long day. Overall, the stay was comfortable and the facilities well-maintained. Location-wise, it was a little far from most of our main itinerary spots, so do factor in extra travel time if you’re planning to move around a lot. Service from the staff was alright for the most part, but on the last day, we had a small hiccup. I requested bath towels and bottled water before checking out, but after waiting over 20 minutes, nothing was delivered. When I called again, another staff member answered and only then informed me that additional bottled water is chargeable. I found this surprising, as I’m not sure if it’s common for 5-star hotels to charge guests for water bottles, and it would have been better if this was clearly communicated during my first call. Aside from that, the stay was enjoyable, the room comfortable, and overall it was a nice experience.

This could be a 5* thing, for now it feels more like 4 to 4.5 * for me. Let me explain. First of all, there are many really big upsides for the Nirwana Resort: - The hotel is in a wonderful location. The beach directly in front of the hotel is beautiful, however if you explore a little further, the beach right next (connected to some rentable mini-houses) is also part of the Nirwana area and even cleaner and more inviting for a direct swim. - The room was even nicer than anticipated via the photos. Everything was tastefully designed, clean and room-service did a great job daily. The hotel itself is abut 35 years old, very close to the sea and constantly exposed to salty winds. It's just amazing that they managed to maintain the open-corridors in such a great condition. There's a lot of wooden features (which look really good imho). - The staff is friendly and helpful. You will find plenty of activities if that is your thing. Now to the kinda neutral part: Some of the in-hotel facilities were not available during our stay. For example to get to the gym you had to switch to another building a few hundret meters away. You still get everything you need, so it's not really a complaint - more a thing of convenience but since all the surrounding area is pretty nice I would recommend exploring a bit anyway. The two main negative factors were: - It's a very secluded resort and there is no normal supermarket or anything similar nearby for basic daily needs like water or what-have-you. This means you will need to pay mega-premiums. 1 L of water costs over 100k Rupias or about 7 to 8 USD. A small bottle of coke is about $3.5. Same goes for all other snacks, drinks and foods. They are very overpriced, just because you don't have a choice. Another example: A pizza + a ”gourmet” burger were close to $50. I wouldn't even complain if it was really ”gourmet”. However not even close: You can eat both, it's not terrible but it's very basic, the pizza too dry and kinda small, the burger the most boring I had in years and not great beef at all. Same goes for all the other food we had in the in-house restaurant. It's not bad but every dish feels like something is a bit off or missing or just very basic. Especially for the premium price you pay this seems not right. There are two more restaurants within ~1km walking distance: An indian restaurant. Pricing is on the higher side but more reasonable than the indoor restaurant. Tandoori chicken was over-spiced (not hot just too strong taste with nothing to compliment it) and very dry/boring. The infamous butter chicken was great, though. I would recommend the ”Spicy restaurant” (4 stars) but make sure you get something with sauce. And then there is a seafood restaurant. It's really pricy (especially when compared to seafood in Batam for example) but you get an incredible fresh and well seasoned fish/crab/prawn selection that makes it worth 100% to visit. Also the view is fantastic. I actually would rate this whole experience 5 stars - if you would get the basics (water, coke, some smaller snacks) for a fair price; right now this part feels a bit like a rip-off. Also, local taxi service is a bit over-priced, same goes for activities. I really don't mind spending more, but there needs to be a balance where you don't feel taken advantage of. If you don't care about that, I would fully recommend the stay at Nirwana Hotel.

Unforgettable Anniversary Stay – Exceptional Service & Experience! We had the most amazing stay at the Marriott Batam to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it truly exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality. Their attention to detail and thoughtful gestures made our celebration extra special—including a complimentary anniversary cake that was such a sweet surprise! The hotel itself is stunning. We loved relaxing at the rooftop bar with its beautiful views, and the swimming pool was perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was another highlight—so many delicious options to choose from, catering to every taste. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. It’s rare to find service this outstanding. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Marriott Batam, for making our anniversary truly unforgettable!

We booked 4 rainforest sea view villas from Singapore. The rooms are in the traditional Balinese villa resort style. They are spacious, beautiful, clean, and equipped with complete toiletries. There are also two pairs of Japanese slippers for showering or going to the beach, and two pairs of cloth shoes for wearing in the room. The hygiene is good, and they clean twice a day. There are three-hole British sockets on both sides of the long table in the room, and there is no need for Indonesian plugs at all, which is very convenient to use. The balcony also has a large jacuzzi. The room is very quiet, and you can hear birds singing in the early morning. All the staff can speak English, and they are all very kind and polite, and their service attitude are also great. The breakfast is also good, and there are many food choices. Whether you go to eat or go back to the room, you can call the hotel's free buggy. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. We will continue to stay in the same BanyanTree when I come to Bintan Island again.

We had a great experience at the resort, for its impeccable and attentive staff service and amenities within. There isn’t much excitement within the whole Bintan Resort area, but Natra Bintan offers much for its location beside the Treasure Bay. Nice water theme park to chill in for most part of the day. Jacuzzi within our stay is a bonus. Saturday night BBQ special is wonderful. You can also hop over to the Anmon Resort next door for a different atmosphere with open air, movie screening and live band.  Things are pricey though. Prepare lotsa money to enjoy your time in the Bintan Resort area.

MMing JunThis resort stands out as one of the best I've experienced in recent memory! It boasts a beautiful environment and rooms that are both aesthetically pleasing and well-appointed. The staff consistently provided helpful and polite service. I particularly appreciated the complimentary bicycles for convenient travel within the resort. The food quality was also impressive. What solidified my positive experience was their outstanding service recovery: upon discovering a minor termite issue in my first room, they promptly upgraded me to a Seaview suite. This impeccable service ensures I'll be back for another retreat!

GGeorg ChristopherThe hotel and its facilities are very nice. Here and there a few spots of improvements needed but otherwise a very attractive hotel with lovely features. A very pleasant stay starts with a dedicated lounge at the ferry terminal which is available upon arrival and departure (taking care of your visa and other requirements). Travel to the actual hotel is within short 20 minutes by hotel shuttle bus. You can chose between colonial style suites at the main building or near by or Thai/ Bali style villas on the large ground and a short walk away from the main building. The Thai villas are very nice, filled with all the necessary amenities and some top of the range products. Plenty of storage space, outdoor veranda seating and well kept exterior make it really nice. At the main section, the pool is with its 50 meter in length a true highlight, together with the very easy and close proximity to the pristine and huge beach section. Although facing north, the beach is actually in a bay and can be explored for hours. Also well worth mentioning is the spa which provides truly amazing treatments administered by very experienced therapists who will truly pamper you from start to finish. Regrettably, there are also a number of shortcomings. Although the hotel provides insect repellant for your daily use, even the best of preventions and best of cleaning/ spraying efforts of the staff will not stop billions of sand flees attacking you on the beach, especially after rain or during the evening hours when you become their dinner. However, the biggest drawback is the food and beverage section. For a hotel operating in such a high price category, the restaurant is a true letdown perhaps even the sole reason for not coming back again. Yes staff everywhere is very friendly, attentive and making it their business to know you by your first name from the start, but the entire food and beverage section requires a lot of improvements to even get close to a star rated service. Yes the drinks are well made (guess can be expected at prices of US$20 plus) but the restaurant service truly lacks what it takes. The food, expensive as it is, lacks any sort of imagination, is void of any special touches, and surely does not represent Indonesian cuisine in any shape or form. As said, staff are very friendly and trying their best however, if they are not taught the basics or led by indifferent managers, then things need to change. Management comes from the top. In summary, if you are looking for a nice place to relax in a colonial style building, not too crowded with a lovely pool, then please try the Sanchaya. However, if you looking for cuisine which is anything but poor, not even ordinary, then you better look elsewhere.

TTeejayqThe villa was beautiful, even better than the pictures. However, cleanliness was slightly lacking, we had sand on our toilet floor even though we did not go to the beach. Service was pretty good, quick and fast response to queries, staff were all pretty friendly as well. Three things that could be improved were management of flies, the environment (temperature, humidity) of their restaurant, as well as the breakfast selection. Whenever we had a meal in the restaurant, there were a myraid of flies flying around us and our meal, which was certainly less than appealing. The restaurant was also warm and humid. Lastly, breakfast selection were subpar at best, taste wise was average. Overall, okay stay, would consider coming back for the villa but would skip anything food and restaurant related. Side note: if you are afraid of bugs, the toilet is a huge downside to this villa as its open concept, which means bugs would be present in the toilet (there was a small worm on the toilet paper).

HHenry ZawOverall, the Grand Lagoi Hotel Bintan offers a decent stay, particularly if you're travelling with family and looking for good value. The definite highlight was the room itself. We found it to be spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable, providing plenty of room for everyone. The bathroom was also quite good – clean and functional. For the price point, the quality of the accommodation felt very reasonable. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. While the hotel boasts a rooftop bar and restaurant, we found it to be noticeably expensive. Guests should budget accordingly if planning to dine or drink there frequently. The breakfast included with the stay was unfortunately not very impressive, lacking variety and quality compared to what we might have expected. Location-wise, it's a bit of a mixed bag. The hotel is near the Lagoi Bay area, but we found the water at the nearby beach wasn't particularly clean during our visit. It's also important to note that the hotel is quite far from the main town centres like Tanjung Pinang, so accessing local eateries or shops requires transport and planning. The staff were generally okay – they handled requests adequately, but didn't particularly stand out for exceptional service. In summary: Grand Lagoi Hotel Bintan is a solid choice if your priority is a large, comfortable room at a reasonable price, making it suitable for families. However, be prepared for potentially high costs at the rooftop restaurant, a basic breakfast offering, a beach that might not be ideal for swimming, and a location that's relatively isolated.
