YYueguangmeiyingThis hotel is excellent, truly deserving its place on this year's Black Pearl Guide. It's perfectly located right outside the main entrance of the Longmen Grottoes, just a few minutes' walk to the scenic area, and very convenient for reaching the high-speed train station or the city center. The surrounding area features Longmen Ancient Street, offering plenty of dining and shopping options. The hotel itself has a fantastic design, making it very photogenic. What's even better is the attractive price – the value for money is outstanding; I doubt you'll find a better deal on the entire Black Pearl list.

SShuijiaohuanghouI booked this hotel for my parents, and they were absolutely delighted. It's conveniently located near all the major attractions, and getting around by taxi or subway is super easy. The service was top-notch, truly. I chose Christine after reading so many glowing reviews, and it definitely paid off! My parents couldn't stop praising the staff, saying every single employee they encountered was warm, friendly, and incredibly polite: from the lobby manager, concierge, and front desk, to the housekeeping staff, restaurant crew, and even the driver who took them to the station – every single one was just wonderful. Such a hotel culture and management level is truly impressive! On top of that, the breakfast and afternoon tea were incredibly rich and delicious. Next time we're in Luoyang, we're definitely staying here again!

JJinxisimajiongI stayed here for two days over the weekend with my parents and children in Luoyang. Everything was pretty good, except for the terrible pick-up driver. The pros are outstanding. It's a garden-style hotel with beautiful scenery, right next to the Longmen Grottoes. We booked a terrace room, and it was lovely to relax with a breeze and some tea. The Chinese restaurant's food was delicious; I highly recommend their Yellow River carp. Outside the restaurant is a lake with a flock of adorable white geese. After feeding them once, the kids noticed that the geese recognized them and would swim over from across the lake, honking for food. The children were thrilled and played with them for a long time. The lobby staff were all very enthusiastic, and the coffee at the lobby bar was fragrant. They even extended our check-out to 2 PM. Now, for a serious complaint about the pick-up driver: his attitude was extremely poor and impatient, which was infuriating. We had agreed on a pick-up location beforehand. After exiting the station, he said it was too congested for him to turn in and instructed us to walk along the road to find the car. We were carrying luggage with elderly parents and children and walked almost to the end of the road without finding him. When I asked him to send his location, he claimed he didn't have WeChat. Eventually, the driver angrily drove over to find us and then complained that we hadn't waved him down. I was speechless – it was pitch black, and we were unfamiliar with the area; how was I supposed to know which car to wave at? I was also quite angry and told him directly not to bother, that we would just take a taxi. Right after I hung up, he drove over. I'm not sure if it was because I lost my temper, but after we got into the car, the driver's attitude did soften considerably. However, it didn't make up for the previous issues. While providing airport/station transfers is a nice service, it's frustrating to start your trip feeling so annoyed. The drop-off service, though, was completely normal.

CchvipI originally wanted to book a big bed room with a balcony. I had no choice but to have two rooms in the whole hotel. We needed 5 rooms. When we checked in, we expressed this regret with the front desk. The reception did not prompt the hotel to have a twin room with a balcony. After dinner, I went back to the hotel and found out that there were many rooms with balconies in the hotel. Next, a surprise happened. At the front desk, a lady who didn't smile and wore an employee uniform, but had a sense of manager power and told me that after checking in, I needed to make up for a day's room rate. I proposed that I could do my best to discuss with her superiors, and she resolutely replied to me no. I want to say that this hotel is surnamed Jia, not Wu, and it is not time for anything to come to you. Is your so-called regulations publicized? Is the price record of the relevant department? At this time, my savior appeared. A waiter with the surname Fu helped me solve the problem. He proposed to take me to see the room first, and then discuss it if you are satisfied. She did her best to help me complete the work of changing rooms in the whole process. Thank you very much. On the third day of breakfast, I encountered a warmer scene. When a guest in the fruit stall took a clip to pick up the meal, I waited on the side. An employee in a black overalls walked past me and looked at me. Then I went to the side and took a clean clip and smiled and handed it to me. I, I didn't say a word during the whole process, she didn't say a word, but the service that should be done was in place, too perfect. The above experience really echoed an old saying, a rat shit broke a pot of porridge.

CCece12I LOVE the zen vibes and decor of this hotel. The amenities from the book bar to the mini theatre were excellent and perfect for a relaxing chilled staycation. The hotel went above and beyond to take care of our needs and comfort. The hotel staff were all friendly and professional. We were extremely impressed by their attentiveness, especially by Hon, the chief concierge. He prepared water for us before a sightseeing trip and gave us good advice on which exit to get to, time spent etc. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good!! We love Cantonese food and even more so when it is done WELL. A fancy hotel is easy to come by if one pays for it but a great service that goes beyond your expectations is very hard to come by. Great value overall, comfortable, extremely relaxing and impressionable stay.

GGuest UserFacilities: As an older hotel, it can't quite compete with newer ones in terms of hardware, but its 'software' (service) is absolutely top-notch, like the 'Pang Dong Lai' of hotels! The facilities are charmingly retro, yet functional and convenient. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Ambiance: The room was spacious. Service: I saw a video about this place and decided to experience it for myself in Luoyang, and it truly lived up to the hype! They've perfected their service to an incredible degree! The staff who picked me up were incredibly attentive. Upon arrival, multiple staff members opened doors and handled my luggage. Hot water was ready in the lobby, and there was a selection of hundreds of snacks. From the moment I was picked up until I reached my room, I didn't have to touch my luggage once. Their main focus is on being warm, thoughtful, and heartwarming! Truly deserving of the 'Pang Dong Lai' hotel title! I'll definitely be back!

We were a little frustrated at check in as we had paid for a more expensive room that wasn't ready on time so they tried to give us a lower end room under the false claim that it was an upgrade when it was in fact a downgrade. Additionally the pool was a public one located off site from the hotel. It was a nice facility but it would have been good to know as I almost went in my bathrobe which would have been an awkward walk around the block. With this minor issues we still had a nice and enjoyable stay.

Throughout our stay, Xiao Lu checked in with us daily, asking about our needs and patiently recommending local restaurants and sightseeing routes. The hotel environment is elegant, the room is clean and tidy, and the breakfast is abundant. But what truly touched me the most was Xiao Lu's exceptionally warm and attentive service – she truly anticipated our every need. When I visit this city again, this hotel will definitely be my first choice. I highly recommend it to everyone!
