Hotel la Rovere

Hotel la Rovere

📍 Vicolo di Sant'Onofrio, 4 - 5, Trastevere, Rome
★★★★ 8.8 (104 reviews)

"The hotel had a perfect location. Not right in the middel of the center, but close enough that most places are just a short walk away. The woman at the reception was incredibly helpful in guiding me to places I wanted to visit. The hotel breakfast might not have had the widest selection of bread, spreads, and hot dishes, but the ingredients that were available were of excellent quality. In that sense, it was one of the better breakfasts I’ve had. You can press your own juice, and the coffee served comes from the hotel’s café. Definitely worth spending money on breakfast at the hotel. I would gladly come back. (PS: The hotel is located on a narrow street, so you may need to walk to the main road to get a taxi. Not a big issue, but choose a suitcase that can handle being rolled over cobblestones — which, to be fair, applies to most of Rome.)"

UNA Hotels Empire Roma ★★★★
"The worst hotel I have lived in.  The facilities of the rooms in this hotel is very old and small! Additionaly, the sink drain was broken, making it difficult to use the basin properly.   For a four-star hotel charging over two hundred euros per night, I never imagined I would experience such unacceptable conditions and poor service. Most shockingly, I found bugs in the bed.  As a result, I found red rashes and intense itching on my back in the morning — a condition I had never suffered before this stay. This represents a severe failure in hygiene. Besides the bug problem, when we checked in, the front desk staff was very rude and unprofessional.  Her behavior was both disrespectful and lacking in basic professionalism. She told us the hotel was full with a very arrogant attitude, and she said she would  give us a quiet room — however, that did not happen. At around 5 a.m., there was extremely loud noise from garbage collection and other activities just outside our window. This loud garbage collection noise lasted for about half an hour, making it impossible for us to fall back asleep and ruining our rest. In the morning, I reported these issues with evidences to the front desk. However, we were told that the manager was not available and she would let the manager know these issues, and we were advised to submit a formal complaint via email. Finally, we have to send an email to the given address but we haven't received any response!  Please don’t book a room at this hotel — everything I’ve said is true!"
