Great
GGuest UserFantastic stay at Villa Aurora rooms whilst I was in Rome.
My room was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. Fully functional air conditioning (rather than those temperamental units in other places) really was a joy to come back to during the heat of a Rome summer.
But so far, I've just commented on some features of the room, rather than my experience here.
What will endure in my memory as I look back was the warm, classically no-nonsense Italian hospitality I had from Donatella.
Throughout my time here, she made sure I was well looked after with room cleaning, bottled water, towels etc.
But I most appreciate her assistance in terms of local knowledge. Local knowledge such as a good seafood restaurant , ”Trattoria del pesce” just down the road (which happens to also be in the Michelin guide); such as to not miss out on the Baths of Caracalla; and perhaps more trivially, but arguably also essential, where to do my laundry!
Thank you so much for making my stay here such a pleasure Donatella, and for adding both a new Italian word and outlook to my vocabulary - ”tranquilo”.
SSo.potato1. The elevator is quite nostalgic and unique; I didn't feel unsafe at all. It's probably one-of-a-kind globally, so the experience was fantastic.
2. I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a quadruple room, which had plenty of space and a safe. However, there were no curtains, so I used a hanger to hang clothes for added privacy! 👍🏻
3. The room had a window for ventilation, which helped prevent any unpleasant odors.
4. The hostel also has common areas and a lobby with restrooms, and one shower.
Downsides:
1. The room has a combined toilet and shower, which means if someone is using it, you can't even blow-dry your hair. It would be better if some of these facilities were separate and outside the room.

GGuest UserThe location is perfect and Alex was very helpful and nice. He read all of out messages before coming which is a request for an early check in and extra pillows and blankets and he did that. The only comments I have is that the room is a bit tight and the bed is a bit small for 2 people, I kept on hitting my wife while sleeping and of course the stairs but honestly all of that is not even a problem compared to the location and cleanliness and the staff friendliness.
GGuest UserThe environment is very good! Whether it is the surrounding or indoor!
And the staff are very nice!
And it is very comfortable and the space is large!

GGuest UserThe best thing about this place was definitely its location. Situated right in the center of Rome, I could walk to major attractions like the Colosseum. Even the Vatican was only a 40-50 minute walk away. I think exploring Rome on foot is the best way to discover hidden gems and sights, rather than taking the subway, and this central location, coupled with the affordable price, was perfect for that.
While bidets aren't standard, it was a pleasant surprise for me, as someone used to Japanese washlets, to find a shower hose next to the toilet.
On the first night, there was a very loud snorer, and I struggled to sleep even with earplugs. However, after that person checked out on the second day, it was much more comfortable. Being a shared room, it really depends on who you're bunking with. There was even a day when both men and women were in the same room.
Each room has an attached bathroom with a toilet and shower combined. However, in a 6-person room with only one bathroom, you have to wait if someone else is using it, which also means waiting to use the toilet.
The front desk staff were friendly and left a good impression. There was no need to pay a deposit (only for renting a hairdryer), just the city tax.
WWandering WillowIt's a great place for solo traveller to meet others especially young people. The owner is very friendly and accomodating. They even provided free couscous for dinner. It's actually near Manzoni metro dtation, bit far from Termini. But for 1 night stay, it's okay and adequate.

Kkat.tripsIt was a great stay here at Hotel Lodi. My partner and I are used to simple and modest places as we've been traveling across Europe so Hotel Lodi was everything we were looking for. The en suite was clean and came with good amenities like soap, body wash, and shampoo. And our room had a TV so we were able to relax and enjoy a show together every night. The Italian guy at the desk was super nice and funny. If you go there with a kind attitude, you'll surely receive the energy back. A few notes, I don't think there's an elevator there so this might not be great for people traveling with a ton of luggage. However my partner and I only had a large backpack each so it was good for us to make it up and down the stairs. Another fun thing to do get around town is the Lime Bikes all around the neighborhood. There were lots around Hotel Lodi it made the slightly inconvenient area of stay way more convenient.
GGuest UserOverall, it was a good stay, including the location and the staff's service. However, the hot water pressure in the shower was unstable; sometimes no hot water came out at all, or it took an unusually long time for the hot water to start flowing. Because of this, I had to keep a tiny trickle of hot water running throughout my shower, which was a bit of a hassle to manage.

NNatthenutterThis hotels location is great. It's near to everything.
I walked to the main tourist attractions.
The hotel room was great. I was expecting a single room, but I got a double, always a bonus.
The room is a little dated, but I quite liked that. It took me back to when I was a child going down the working man's club with my parents 🤣 keeping it retro , love it!
The room had everything I needed. It was clean and light (even had shutters and blacked out curtains, which made the room dark).
The staff were helpful & polite, which is all I ask for.
The only negatives were the tram line (which could be quite loud and rumble at times) & the hotel tax; they wanted it in cash/euros I didn't have any euros as I didn't think I'd need them, thinking I could pay with everything by card.
Other than that, a great stay in Rome.

GGuest UserThe location is spot on! It’s not far to walk to anywhere from this hotel, there are many cafes and restaurants around so easy to find a lovely evening meal.
The breakfast was simple but I enjoy that. There was fruit, eggs, pastries, bread, coffee and juice laid out each morning.
The room is very basic and small. I understand that the pictures online and the rooms can vary, but this was very different to what we thought we had booked online. The balcony is very small and just a simple view of the nearby roofs. But the bed was extremely comfortable, I had a great nights sleep every night.
The reception staff were helpful with everything and gave us great advise about travelling around Rome.
This was a great place to stay if you’re only using to the room sleep.
