Grids Premium Hotel Otaru ★★★★
"Wonderful views with kindly services"
Otaru Kourakuen ★★★★
"The entire stay was a dream. I can only recommend going here. It was very pricey for us but well worth it. The staff is exceptional, the facility beautiful, the food fresh and local and the atmosphere pure relaxation. If I had to pick something that could be improved, it's that the bonfire could run a little longer in the summer to enjoy it after dark."
Hotel Torifito Otaru Canal ★★★★
Only about 300 metres from Otaru Canal, this stay includes a free spa, restaurant, laundry room, private parking, and convenient access to nearby sightseeing streets.
Hotel Nord Otaru ★★★★
Facing central Otaru attractions, this four-star stay serves Western, Chinese, and Japanese breakfast and includes an on-site restaurant, bar, and convenient sightseeing access.
Unwind Hotel & Bar Otaru ★★★★
"Split type bathroom is something I like but may not suit everyone."
Otaru Furukawa Hotel ★★★
"This hotel is excellent in every aspect. The staff are incredibly friendly and, despite limited English, they make a genuine effort to communicate. Three staff members were waiting outside for our check-in, and they escorted us all the way to the door during check-out. The location is super convenient, right next to the Otaru Canal, and it's a quick walk to Otaru Station. The hotel offers a lounge (accessible to all guests) and a smoking area. Outside the public bath, there are complimentary ice cream and Yakult drinks. Our room window opened right onto the canal, and the room was fully equipped with everything we needed. We initially thought our room wouldn't have a bathtub, but to our surprise, it did, and the bathroom window also offered a direct view of the Otaru Canal. Even the bathwater is natural hot spring water! Both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. While it might not suit everyone's palate, the Furukawa staff are very accommodating and try their best to make adjustments. For example, my fiancée doesn't eat raw food, and they were able to substitute those items for us. All in all, if you're looking to stay a night in Otaru, I highly recommend this hotel."
Grand Park Otaru ★★★★
"Connected to the hotel is a big shopping mall, which makes it easy to get food or go for shopping. Hotel is a bit aged, with the late 90’s type of decor. Parking is convenient, so for those who do self driving, this is one of the better locations."
AQUAMARINE ★★★★
Hotel Sonia Otaru ★★★★
"The hotel was a tad bit older but the room was clean and the arrive was amazing. I liked that it was close by to so many food and a convenience store, and just a 10 minute walk from the train station."

Otaru Asari Classe Hotel
"Very good"
Guesthouse Otaru Wanokaze
"The environment is very warm, making me want to stay a few more days🥹"
Tabist Kaihourou Otaru
"The hotel is beautiful and has complete facilities."
Ginrinsou
"An excellent experience, even better than Hongleyuan in my opinion. The hot spring views are unbeatable, and the Japanese breakfast and dinner were also very unique."
Asarigawa Onsen Hotel
"Disadvantages: 1. The young male waiter with long hair at the second-floor restaurant had poor service and a "do-or-not" attitude. 2. During my six-night stay, the house was never cleaned; they only changed the bath towels, and didn't even pick up the dirty ones left on the floor. They also didn't replenish the toilet paper. Advantages: 1. Conveniently located for skiing, just a short walk away. 2. The hot springs are decent."
Blue Hotel Nagi-Adult Only
"it was good."
Otaru Geihinkan
"I really liked the private and peaceful atmosphere. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance."
Hokkaido Zhu Jin Villa
"A very good B&B. The proprietress and the housekeeper are very nice, the service is thoughtful, the hygiene is very good, the layout is very beautiful, and most importantly, it is very clean. The stay is very comfortable. It is just a short walk from the Shukujin Observation Deck. The scenery is beautiful and there are few people. It is very good."
Alphabed Inn Otaru Ekimae
"Great location and spacious room. + point, able to use up common area/kitchen if you wish to."
The Stay Yuki
"(1)Sound proof very poor (2)no drinking water provided (3)start cleaning around 8:30am,make noise (4)location far from most of the attractions venues (5)no lift (6)bathroom water heater not consistent"
SANGO
"Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Villa was very well kept, with excellent views of the ocean. Pleasantly surprised by complimentary puddings and drinks. Manual grinder and coffee beans were a nice touch. Cons: Unable to drive directly to the villa due to safety policy. This made loading/unloading luggage very inconvenient. The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway."
Otaru Asarigawa Onsen Hotel Musashitei
"A traditional Japanese hot spring hotel, although the facilities are relatively old, the sanitary conditions are very good. The breakfast is a traditional Japanese breakfast, with a lot of cold things, which may not be suitable for the elderly."
Pension Shadow Classe
"Small ski resort in 5 mins walk. Great value accommodation."
Otaru Retreat Kuramure by Onko Chishin
"Thumbs up! ! ! Superb environment and service! ! We arrived at the hotel later and the driver couldn't find the door and helped us find it, but after a while, a staff member ran down and asked if we had booked a room, really running! ! Then the driver parked the car, then helped us pick up our luggage, and ran up again! ! ! The service was so good that our whole family was stunned! ! Entering the hotel, the air conditioning is very good, because the outside is -10 degrees, but the interior is very warm, and not baked, so very comfortable, the room is not big, but with all the traditional Japanese room things, the furnishings are very beautiful, However, if the luggage is larger and more, it becomes very crowded, but actually feels like home. Because one night two meals, so there is a full dinner breakfast, are exquisite kaiseki cuisine, each meal also have staff to the room in advance to lead us to the restaurant, their own room, no one disturbed. The hot spring area has indoor and outdoor, not big, but enough, we soaked twice and did not bump into anyone, chartered, great! ! After check out, the staff bowed to not see our car! ! There is a traditional Japanese etiquette! ! ! We will definitely come back to experience this one! ! !"
Winkel Village
