A traditional Japanese inn in Shinshu Hakuba Happo with long history.7 minutes walk to the Happo gondola lift.

"Stopped in early October, there were few guests in the hotel. Personal super welcoming, very delicious and abundant breakfast, excellent onsen with window for a small garden. The room was in the traditional style, everything needed to eat, very convenient to sleep on the foot. I am very happy! If I come to Hakabi again, I will stop here!"

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property! It truly exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect setting for our family getaway. From the moment we arrived, the caretaker's service was truly exceptional. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Their warmth and professionalism made a huge difference. The house itself was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. It was clear that great care is taken to ensure the comfort and hygiene of the guests. As a whole-house rental with three spacious bedrooms, it was perfectly suited for our family. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably. One of the major conveniences was the fully equipped kitchen. It had every single cooking utensil and appliance we could possibly need, which made preparing meals for the family easy and enjoyable.

it was an excellent service from the host, fluent in english and he even pick us up and drove us to the station. the villa gave us a magical experience, everything was top notch. and also important thing is the location, if you plan to go to iwatake snowpeaks then komakusa villa is the best place to stay, just 1 minute walk and you can see the gondola from the room. thankyou yutaka fukushima

The meals in the evening and in the morning were delicious! I went in the middle of summer, but it was so cool and comfortable that I was able to sleep with the windows open at night without turning on the air conditioner. I was a little worried about the unisex toilets on the second floor, but the toilets on the first floor were separated for men and women, so I used the one on the first floor. The owner was also very kind, and after checking out, he drove me to the nearest station. This was very helpful as I had a lot of luggage. The price was also reasonable, so I was very satisfied. I would like to use this hotel again on my next summer trip to Nagano.

The interior of the guesthouse is very clean overall, and the common areas are warmly decorated and furnished. There's a charcoal stove in the lobby on the first floor where you can relax on the sofa by the fire, which is very pleasant. The guesthouse has an overall feel of a vintage wooden villa. The rooms are all on the second floor, so you'll need to carry your luggage up (no elevator). The room size is small, but it's very warm inside and generally clean, though occasionally bugs appear (I encountered three). When staying at the guesthouse, it's more suitable to spend time in the first-floor lobby area (it's more comfortable). However, the guesthouse doesn't have private bathrooms or showers; they are all shared, which might be unusual for those accustomed to hotels. The guesthouse has two shared bathrooms that require booking on a sign-up sheet. Each bathroom has a shower and a hot tub, and they are very clean. Since there aren't many rooms, you won't have to queue for showers. However, the cleanliness and maintenance of the guesthouse's shared toilets could be improved. The toilet in the men's restroom on the second floor was leaking a bit, and the waste bin wasn't regularly emptied. Compared to the bathrooms, the shared toilets are still less convenient, and you might find multiple people trying to use them at once. The guesthouse owners are very welcoming and responsive, but their English is limited, so communication often requires a translation app, which can take a lot of time. If you plan to visit Goryu/47 ski resorts, you can buy discounted ski passes from the guesthouse owner for 6000 JPY/day, which is much cheaper than buying at the resort. Additionally, ski equipment rental at the guesthouse is also very affordable. Hotel Oak Tree, located next to the guesthouse (a 5-minute walk), is a free bus stop with several free shuttle buses to various ski resorts. However, you need to pay attention to the timetable (available at the guesthouse), as the bus departure times are limited, and you'll be stranded if you miss one. Other transportation options include taxis, but getting a taxi in Hakuba isn't easy; they are often unavailable (and expensive).

We love Hakuba so much even in green season. Looking forward to visit Hakuba in winter and green season again! The receptionist is friendly. Check-in and check-out were fast and hassle free.Room is big. We stay a night only here. But looking forward to go back to Hakuba in green season and winter. At least must spend 3 nights there! Meteor Garden is located conveniently 5-7min drive from main Hakuba Village. One thing to note is that the main cafe in the stay is not open so need to find other dining alternatives. Rooms and amenities are clean and well maintained, the one issue is that it’s not well marked on Google map as it keeps pointing to the restaurant which was not opened and gave us a false alarm. Wifi is not the fastest and does not handle multiple devices that well especially when you are trying to work. There was some confusion when booked via Trip as the contact information was somehow truncated so hotel was unable to contact me without going through Trip thus messages were delayed. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and everyone had a great time…

The accommodation is clean and there is plenty of parking. However, it is suitable for those who drive on foot. There are no pajamas provided. The bath products, hair care products, and nourishing creams are so good that you might want to buy some to take home. There is a coin-operated washing machine with a wide selection of detergents. The digital door is difficult to open, so you have to wait for the right moment. Overall, it is worth it and a good choice for those who love peace and quiet.

An older-style hotel, but very clean. It has separate onsens for men and women. Breakfast is served as individual sets. The hotel also has a dinner restaurant, which is convenient because going out to eat without a car isn't easy. The futon-style bedding was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was a bit small. It snowed while I was there, and it was beautiful because the hotel is located in the mountains.

Ideal location. The rooms in the main building have bathrooms. The rooms are large. The view outside the window is beautiful. There is wifi. Parking is convenient. However, the drying room does not have much drying effect. The room has heating. The hotel is actually very good in all aspects. High cost performance. You can choose to add some small purse breakfast. Because I went skiing early in the morning, I had to add it. It is a Japanese breakfast. Don't expect too much in style.
