I absolutely love this hotel. I'd definitely stay there again. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The onsen was excellent. A few days here in the winter would be a real treat.

The hotel is one kilometer away from the bus terminal, but there are small stops near the hotel to various ski resorts, which is very convenient. I booked a total of 5 nights, including meals. The 5 breakfasts are basically Japanese, very hearty and satisfying! It is a traditional Japanese-style bed and breakfast. The room is on tatami mats and you make your own bed. In some years, the furniture is not new, and you can hear it in the walking room in the corridor, but it is very clean! The quality of the guests is also very good, there is no loud noise, which is much better than the Europeans and Americans who later lived in the hotel! The boss is an old Japanese couple. They don’t talk much and may not always smile like other Japanese people, but in fact they love to help. After dinner every morning, they ask you where you plan to go today, and then pull you there. His map wall helps you plan your itinerary, and the hotel also has a lot of coupons or low-cost ski tickets for ski resort cooperation. Save a lot of expenses. After checking out, you need to change to another hotel. From Matsumoto to Baima, take the IC card taken when entering the station on the JR Otaru Line. When you arrive at Baima, you cannot use the IC card. You can't speak English and Japanese. The hotel's hot springs are to the ”Baima Temple の Wood ホテル” bubble (provide coupons 1000/person) 250 meters away, the source of the discharge of Zhuang Bingwei の soup, spring quality , very smooth after the bubble. It was a very unforgettable experience. I fell in love with the beautiful Baima Village in the sunny day of waiting for the Bafangweigen Bafang Pool! Very friendly staff. I was there off season, so there where no more shuttle busses available. Since the hotel is directly near the slopes, there are no direct shops near by. And you have to either walk 20 minutes to the nearest Lawson or take a taxi. I liked the japan-western style room. The owner was so kind to take me to the Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort which is only a short drive around the corner. There is also a Ski Resort just next to the hotel but it was already closed for the season.

Wonderful Stay at Garden Pension Obogurgl We had an excellent experience at Garden Pension Obogurgl. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Hakuba Goryu lifts, which made getting on the mountain super easy every day. The pension itself is cozy, clean, and peaceful, with a lovely garden that adds to the charm. Our room was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for ski gear, and the communal areas had a relaxed, homely vibe. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and transport advice. We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere—whether it was to the nearby convenience stores, local restaurants, or just strolling among the beautiful pine trees. The large cherry blossom tree out the front added a special touch to the peaceful surroundings. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and welcoming place to stay in Hakuba Goryu, Garden Pension Obogurgl is a fantastic choice.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. There's a self-service UCC coffee machine in the lobby with free refills. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the large windows offered fantastic views of the snowy landscape. Our room was fully equipped for cooking, with a stove, sink, microwave, fridge, and kettle – everything you need to prepare your own dinner if you're on vacation. If you're driving, there's a large supermarket just a minute or two away. Plus, there's a hot spring bath, which is perfect for soaking away fatigue after skiing. They also offer free parking and ski equipment rental, which was both good quality and reasonably priced. If I ever visit Hakuba again, I'd definitely choose this hotel.

Stayed late June to see the stunning Itawake view. No skiing, just soaking in Hakuba’s nature. Hotel was peaceful, surrounded by trees — perfect for relaxing walks. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Room was clean, a bit small for what we booked. Breakfast was okay, mix of Japanese and Western. The onsen was the real highlight — so refreshing after a day out. Even without snow, Mominoki was a great base. Cozy, quiet, and welcoming. Would stay again.

Had a really good stay at Oak Forest. Stay accommodated for English speaking guests and assist with luggage hold on day of check in and out. Breakfast provided was really good. Onsen was a welcome part of the stay after a day of ski. Location is a bit inconvenient as it requires a decent walk or taxi to main bus terminal and other resorts. But there is accessible restaurants in walking decent to Echoland. The bus for pickup to resorts is directly in front of the hotel or short walk to Echoland spicy for the hakuba valley bus. Overall recommend but would be amazing if hotel could assist in initial pickup and dropoff transfers to bus terminal for guests with luggage.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The hotel's interior was beautifully designed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, allowing us to sleep soundly. Its proximity to the Iwatake tourist area was especially convenient. We also truly appreciated the staff's attentive and heartfelt service. We had a very comfortable and satisfying experience and would love to stay again.
