"Very good accommodation, good room, very lovely staff!!! Friendly, kind, can speak English fluently. If I come back to this city again, I will definitely come back here again. The room is very good, hot heater, hot water, there is a bathtub to soak in, delicious breakfast. When we went it was winter, the accommodation will have a pick up service to the station area, but when we went there were few people, so they took us to the tourist area as well. And in the evening, they picked us up and returned to the accommodation, including dropping us off so we could catch a bus to go to another city."

"An older-style hotel, but very clean. It has separate onsens for men and women. Breakfast is served as individual sets. The hotel also has a dinner restaurant, which is convenient because going out to eat without a car isn't easy. The futon-style bedding was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was a bit small. It snowed while I was there, and it was beautiful because the hotel is located in the mountains."

"Family hotel, the hotel is very simple, the transportation is very convenient, the room is cold and hot, and it is impossible to take a shower. But the hotel's own hot spring is great and the breakfast is delicious. The boss is family-friendly. But the 1600 New Year's Eve can't be said to be cost-effective"

"Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though. Opted for half board (Dinner provided) Super convenient with the ski rental on site, and shuttle buses to ski resorts provided.
Onsen: newly refurbished and amazing!
Breakfast and Dinner : was pleasantly surprised by the dinner provided it was a 6 course dinner Jap-French inspired. Had lovely meals every evening.
In house ski rental : it’s good that there is one onsite. However the service was less than desirable.
Rented a snowboard and requested for regular stance, the young guy provided a goofy stance set up.
I only noticed the next day, after bringing it back - and the same young guy was not at the shop. Approached the concierge where the staff then very impatient and frustratingly fixed it for me..
Transport to the ski resort: asked the staff to help book us a taxi to get to Nagano station when we were leaving the next day. Their taxi company was full so they said they couldn’t do anything. We then asked for alternatives, the concierge suggested a shuttle bus to Nagano station, but shortly after said it was not possible as the hotel shuttle didn’t start that early. The staff just seemed abit unwilling to help, and also unclear about how guests leave the hotel. To future travellers; Prepare beforehand - book a taxi / bus in advance and don’t expect the hotel to help"

"It was a very comfortable stay. The room was especially clean, the staff were attentive, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It was only a one-night stay, but it was a great experience, especially when combined with the various experiences I had in Hakuba. The only thing I noticed was that the shower water made a big mess on the bathroom floor, even though it was a twin room. If I have the chance to return, I'd like to have dinner there as well."

"Ideal location. The rooms in the main building have bathrooms. The rooms are large. The view outside the window is beautiful. There is wifi. Parking is convenient. However, the drying room does not have much drying effect. The room has heating. The hotel is actually very good in all aspects. High cost performance. You can choose to add some small purse breakfast. Because I went skiing early in the morning, I had to add it. It is a Japanese breakfast. Don't expect too much in style."

"The room is not small for Japan, it is clean and the view outside the window is beautiful. The service is friendly and there is a semi-open-air private hot spring. Although there is no scenery, it is still very comfortable to take a bath after skiing. The restaurant and bar are both very nice. I met the owner and had a pleasant half-day, half-English chat with him. The owner also treated me to many drinks. The only downside is that there is no elevator, which makes it a little troublesome to move luggage. If you want to eat at the restaurant, remember to make a reservation one day in advance."

"The most important thing is that the hot water is very hot and makes washing comfortable. The heating in the room is sufficient. The service at the front desk is friendly. The breakfast is not luxurious but not disappointing. You can eat it every day. I was a little worried after reading the reviews of other travelers. It is just for skiing. This hotel is economical and affordable. There is also a drying room where you can store your equipment. Oh, and there are also free shuttle buses to and from various ski resorts, which is very convenient."

Amazing
We spent 6 nights at this lovely hotel run by kind people. It provided all everything we needed including good breakfast, clean room, bathroom (onsen) and above all kindness. I admire greatly the 82 years old granny who continues to help the guests and continue to learn English. The chef Masa cooks authentic French cuisine.

Booked for 1 night but stayed extra nights … the lodge / hostel is run by a family and you can feel the care they put into it, making everyone welcome and safe during and after the hikes. Instead of filling up the rooms they made sure all the guest was comfortable and split up all the guest with half filled rooms. Free coffee and drop off to the tourist center and JR station, cooking station etc Have travelled all my adult life and it’s a gem!!

It’s 3-minute on foot to the bus station and surrounded by many cafe and restaurants although many are closed during off-peak season. Shoutout to Tim who provide a lot of helpful information about where to eat and what to do on a rainy day. We had a pleasant time during our stay.

Such a wonderful stay at Hakuba! Service by Mariott stuff was excellent. Shuttle bus arrived on time and the luggages up the bus and to our room. The room had an in-room onsen which was super! There was a quiet camping ground beside where my family spent half a day building snowman and playing. We could call for pizza food delivery on the first day. Convenience store was quite a walk away but manageable if the snow wasn’t so thick.

It’s a really cozy hostel with your own room. The staff is really welcoming and friendly, would really help you in any way possible. I dont mind the shared bathroom, I never had a problem with it and it was never full during my stay. The pillows were soft and there is also a heater. If I feel too warm I just open the windows. Location wise, it was a bit of a challenge to go up Goryu plaza since it was winter and it was a long ramp going up, maybe took me 10-12mins. I didn’t rent a car so I had to book an uber to and from Hakuba station. They only have 2 toilets in the male’s restroom in the 2nd flr

The facilities were what stood out at this hotel, from the complimentary red bean soup and crackers post-ski, to the beautiful public and private onsen with free ice pop and coffee milk, to the ping-pong table that our boys enjoyed in the evening. We booked the evening meals package with Ctrip which made it very convenient to have dinner in the hotel. The food was delicious although there was too much of it and it took 90mn to complete the course. I wish there was a casual Japanese restaurant onsite. The two bedroom junior suite gave a lot of extra space and privacy 👍🏻. What we found strange was that our room was ready by 1:30pm and our luggages were in but we weren’t allowed in until 3pm. Please make a conscious effort not to loose the hotel key card as they charge ¥3,000 for a lost keycard. That last note put a dim on our otherwise great stay.

What an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel. Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself. We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet. In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies. Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

GGuest UserCome to Hakuba Village Iwadake to see the autumn leaves. The air is fresh and there is a sense of open space. The place to stay is very warm and the landlord’s meticulous reception allows us to rest and regain our strength. Next time we will come to experience the good snow scene.
