This year marked my first time in Xishuangbanna, spending the warm winter and experiencing the New Year. A stay at Youran Terrace was a must!
For foreigners, this place is perfect. The owner is a foreigner, offering English-speaking staff, Western-style cuisine tailored to their lifestyle, and the opportunity to experience the authentic flavors of China.
For Chinese, this is the perfect place to retreat to a secluded mountain courtyard, enjoying a peaceful escape from the city while still gazing out at the city's beauty. This is the scenery you'll experience at Youran Terrace.
As a Chinese expat who has lived abroad, I love every detail, every scene, every culture, and the high-quality service and facilities provided by the Youran Terrace team. As someone who has traveled to many countries and hotels, this place truly offers excellent value for money. Of course, you also have to appreciate its beauty!
The price of the Ceiling B&B in Xishuangbanna is also very reasonable. After all, I paid more than just for the apartment, nor for the luxury building I upgraded to. I owned the entire forest and courtyard of Youran Terrace! If you want to come to Xishuangbanna, if you also like to experience Chinese culture in a high-quality single-family villa with Chinese and Western styles, you must give this place a try. "This small resort has great atmosphere, and all the amenities are modern. There are many reviews already highlighting the great hot springs experience and the rooms, all true 😊 But for me the most valuable experience was the opportunity to talk to the owner who lived in the village for many years and witnessed the development of tourism industry in the area. He has great knowledge about Dai lifestyle and can recommend authentic restaurants.
It was great to talk about local life vs tourist development areas and try locally sources mushrooms, wild lettuce, and free range eggs.
The owner treated me to dinner and lunch, offered local snacks and fruit from the garden. Hot breakfast every morning by the local chef was delicious.
You'll need to speak some Chinese or be patient with translation apps to communicate.
There are also three lovely friendly kittens living here 😊"

"I fell in love with it as soon as I walked in. It was much better than I imagined. After all, I didn't have high expectations for a room at this price. The room was clean. When staying in a hotel, I was afraid that the bathroom would be shabby and dirty. To my surprise, the bathroom was also clean and tidy (I later learned that all the rooms were newly renovated last year. I took a close-up of the bathroom for my friends). Sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view was also a kind of enjoyment. Anyway, it was worth the money. By the way, the proprietress was very warm and thoughtful. For a tourist from another place like me, she arranged all the itineraries for me clearly, which saved me a lot of money. The room was comfortable. The beautiful landlady was very interesting. She made appointments for coffee and tea when she had nothing to do. The service was not deliberate. PpinkrippleThere is free pick-up from the airport, and there is a shuttle bus for visiting Gaozhuang. It is very convenient and the service is very good. There is also a swimming pool on the roof, and the environment is very good, especially the night view. The breakfast is generally good, with quite a lot of variety. I really like their rice noodles. The laundry room is a bit run down, so if there's nothing special about it, try not to use it.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff, especially the young lady, was absolutely incredible and incredibly helpful! 🥹 We were in a frantic rush, almost missing our high-speed train. We quickly called a taxi, and she immediately jumped in to help with our luggage, even arranging for it to be sent directly from the hotel to the train station. She was so kind, constantly assisting us with our bags and loading them into the car!
The hotel also offers an excellent pickup service. They picked us up directly from the high-speed train station and brought us to the hotel. The service was fantastic, and the vehicle was spacious and spotless. Our driver, a lovely lady, was incredibly warm and even brought us some small fruits from Nuoji Mountain (she called them 'Sanya fruits,' tasting like mini mangosteens!).
The hotel's location in Gaozhuang is truly unbeatable! It's super close to the Starlight Night Market, surrounded by numerous restaurants and fruit shops. In the evenings, there are also plenty of delicious street food stalls!
Overall, the hotel service was excellent! The breakfast area, located on the other side, also offered a wonderful ambiance.
Our room was very clean and even included a washing machine, which was incredibly handy for laundry. We ran out of hangers and requested nine more, which were promptly delivered to our room. Honestly, the front desk staff really saved the day when we were almost late for our train!
Seriously, everyone, you absolutely *must* stay at this hotel! It's also super convenient to order takeout from popular Xishuangbanna 'influencer' spots. The rooms are quite spacious and beautifully decorated, perfect for snapping some gorgeous photos!

The hotel is a beige base color with a simple IS style island resort style~infinity
swimming pool~you can feel the vacation in Bali or Hawaii without leaving the hotel
feel! The light effect is even more amazing when it's getting dark in the evening!! The atmosphere is amazing~
The newly opened hotel has new facilities, the hair dryer is from Dyson, the mattress is the same as Marriott, the KOHLER bathroom is very comfortable, and the HERMES
washing and care four-piece set is also very easy to use;
The hotel breakfast 5 has porridge, corn and sweet potatoes, as well as milk, oats and nuts. Even if
it's past breakfast time, we are still provided with breakfast. In the evening, staff will deliver cut fruits to the room. The service is great
Next to the hotel is the Starlight Night Market. The hotel waiter recommended several delicious stalls to us, including black pepper beef skewers, soft and glutinous chicken feet, and the Indian hollow potato balls. They are absolutely delicious. I really want to take them home.

DDhanya KimberleyI booked 2 hotels in this area, for half of the week each. I had chosen them both due to their pools and beautiful looking rooms/facilities.
The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive to my messages on WeChat. However, they admitted it was their first time having non-Chinese guests and there were various issues that they needed to improve. The tea ceremony left my parents confused, as there was no translation tool used, and very little explanation as to the session. In other situations, I have had tea ceremonies that involve explanation of how the tea is made, how it should be drunk, what sort of people drink this type of tea etc. (To overcome the disappointment of this, we were gifted a pack of the delicious tea however).
We selected this hotel based on the pool facilities mostly and were very disappointed to arrive to dirt-filled pool water that had branches and other debris inside. The staff were very apologetic and explained the recent storms caught them unawares. However, little action was taken to clean the pools until I raised this matter. When we went to the second hotel of my choice, they had more pools, all of which were clean and full of water, even though the same storm would have hit them.
The photo shoot was great, and the photographer was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and the seating area was nice. We did not use the sitting area within the pool section however, due to the dirty pool etc.
The breakfast was only served to us on our first day, and then a buffet on the second day. For us, we personally preferred the buffet so that we could select our portion sizes ourselves.
I think over time, the staff will become more confident with foreign guests and this resort will be greatly enjoyed.

Everything is available on site and if you like exercising and relaxing … this hotel will be the best choice for you. Amazing gym open 24h with all the necessary equipments, the indoor pool is clean with a good water temperature for your daily swim. You also have a clean sauna, hammam and hot bath available in the changing rooms (plan to turn it on 20mn before to use it when you will need). The hot springs are just outside the gym so it will be perfect to relax after a day visiting Xishuangbanna. The outdoor pool is nice and clean ( perfect if you go on a family holidays with kids ). The room is spacious and comfortable. The cleaning staff and the rest of the team at the reception, restaurant … were all amazing and did everything to make our stay to be memorable. The restaurant even offered us several times some additional western dishes to make us happy. Ariel added my contact before our arrival to check if we needed anything and helped us during the stay. The breakfast was diverse and very tasty( the pain au chocolat and croissant were delicious). We have tried the dinner buffet once which was good but more Chinese dishes. The hotel is about 25/30mn from downtown so it is convenient if you want to be in a peaceful place but still near by the main attractions. You will need to travel a bit longer to go to the wild elephant valley, the primitive forest and the tropical garden but it was still ok. Thank you to the hotel and all the staffs for that amazing and memorable one week holidays. 10 out of 10.

BBenjamin Sch.We have been visiting the Pullman Resort during our Golden Week Holiday. The hotel was quite empty despite the festival season. We also know the Pullman in Sanya Bay well and were somewhat disappointed of the one in Xishuangbanna. Overall, the hotel was way too expensive for the provided quality and services, we cannot recommend it.

Cons:
General:
- The service level was not good at many places of the hotel:
- No English speaking staff in the hotel. Especially at the reception it’s a big disadvantage
- No shuttle service to public spaces
- In the area are not many shops or restaurants and at least many were closed during our stay (maybe because of Golden Week)
- The outside breakfast area is not nice and you are more or less forced to sit inside due to pest control during morning
- The intensity of pest control was terrible; every day they sprayed somewhere in the hotel chemicals. During the morning the garden was fully covered in smog of chemicals and you cannot go outside; even inside the breakfast area you could smell it; one day in the afternoon the entrance street to the street was fully covered with smog and it was almost impossible to walk through there, due to pest control the whole garden is literally dead, don’t expect nice butterflies or dragonflies - it’s all gone (see the first picture)
The pool service is poor for many reasons:
- You cannot order any food or drink at the pool;
- They don’t have any seat mattresses/cover, you have to sit on the blank chairs
- The number of seats at the pool is very limited, even when the hotel was not full, not every person could get a seat
- The sunshade umbrellas are useless as they cannot be moved or changed and their direction does not protect well against the sun
- The requirement to wear a swimming cap is strange and everyone needed to buy one…
Overall:
We cannot recommend the hotel for higher price, if you get it for low price it’s a good deal but look for some alternative if you can.

SShichongchonga～The hotel is located in Gaozhuang, Xishuangbanna, very close to the Starlight Night Market. The environment is simple and elegant, full of ins style. The rooms are white and minimalist, clean and comfortable. The rooms are all smart, and the infinity pool is particularly good for taking photos. The hotel also offers free breakfast and airport pick-up services. It also provides pick-up services for traveling in Gaozhuang. It really has a good environment, comfortable accommodation and high cost performance.

GGuest UserAlthough Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining.
Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable.
Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat
Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that.
Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests.
Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. I really believe Hyatt management in Texas really should not take the risk of damaging their great brand by letting this hotel be branded with Hyatt's Name. The way this Xi Shuang Ban Na Urcove is operating, they are worse than locally managed/owned hotels.
尽管西双版纳景洪告荘星光夜市逸扉酒店称他们是一家无烟酒店，但就我所见，事实并非如此。我建议对香烟过敏或对香烟烟雾有健康问题的人一定不能入住。我亲眼看到客人和酒店员工在这家酒店的大堂公开吸烟。前台工作人员和主管看到了这一幕，不但没有对违规者劝喻或警告，而当我对此提出投诉时，前台工作人员不答理我，还瞪了我一眼！！！
评价酒店已下部门：
卧室：非常宽敞干净。床上用品和床单非常干净舒适。
厕所：非常新式，配有恒温马桶座
淋浴区：简直是一场灾难。分隔厕所和淋浴区的玻璃板安装不当，所以淋浴区的水到处漏水。这是非常危险的事，因为淋浴外的地板是一块光滑的地砖。我的妻子差点滑倒。我们当晚立即告诉前台，他们所做的只是派人擦干水而已。之后就没再跟进。
早餐：这是我住过最差的酒店。大部分早餐都是中餐，虽然我不吃中式早餐，但我也没有抱怨。最大的问题是，我们早上 9:15 之后去吃早餐，有很多空的食物容器和盘子，早餐盘很多是空的。早餐应该在 10:00 结束。9:15 已经没有羊角包，甚至连一片可以用来烤土司的面包都没有。我还检查了中餐食物，发现很多容器也被清空了。然后我去问工作人员，我可以在哪里找到一片面包。她的回答是，没有切片方包了，你看到的就只这些。没有其他的可以食！！！！我非常生气，重新要求几片切片面包。最后，厨房工作人员王先生给我们帮忙，他给我和我妻子每人煎了两个鸡蛋。王先生还从酒店外面帮我拿了切片面包，这样我和妻子至有点早餐可以食。第二天早餐时，早上 9:15 之后就没有咖啡了，因为咖啡机进行自动清洗，至少半个小时处于清洁模式。主厨最终帮我拿了一杯咖啡，但在我看来，这家酒店根本没有准备好接待国际旅客。
这次景洪告荘星光夜市逸扉酒店入住经验非常差。完全不符合凯悦的标准。我真的认为凯悦管理层不应该冒险让这家酒店打上凯悦的名字，从而损害他们的品牌形象。这家 西双版纳景洪告荘星光夜市逸扉酒店 的经营及管理模式，比当地管理/当地投资的酒店还远远不如。凯悦Hyatt 总公司真应该尽快管理好这家酒店免得影响Hyatt 品牌。
