"We booked this hotel for a 4-day May Day holiday trip. We have to say it was pretty awesome. The room was very spacious, had a great view of downtown and best of all was centrally located in Jinghong City. As a foreigner there were plenty of shops, a McDonald’s and Starbucks across the street. My friend being Chinese, loved all the local food places and the night market just outside with several souvenir shops. The staff was very helpful, they helped us plan trips as well. There is a public shuttle station nearby for tourists that provides a cheap alternative to taxis. All amenities were included and the bath tub was a pleasant surprise. I’d highly recommend this hotel!"

"Extremely satisfied with my stay! I've traveled many times, but this is the first time I've written such a detailed review. First, the hotel's location is excellent – very close to the Starlight Night Market and the Lancang River. The hotel butler thoughtfully upgraded us to a river view room, so every morning we could open the window to see the Lancang River, starting our day's activities in a wonderful mood. In the evenings, we could easily wander to the night market for food and enjoy the nightlife! Second, during our stay, the hotel butler was always available to address our requests, offering complimentary fruit and arranging airport transfers. Finally, I have to praise the breakfast and the pool. The breakfast had a rich variety of options, and the pool was very photogenic! I will definitely choose Yunzhu again when I return to Xishuangbanna!"

"The hotel occupies a few floors inside a massive building known as ”Peacock Building”. This is very good location where there are a cluster of many hotels and eateries (see photos taken outside the hotel). I chose a room that provides me a view of the river and is bit smaller than the cave rooms and other themed rooms, which is fine as the room comes with its own washing machine. This is my first experience of an hotel room having an integrated washing machine, but it is very useful, due the hot weather, and your attire will be wet by the time you get back each day. From the hotel, it is a short 10min walk to the Starlight market, or you can take an electric ”tuk-tuk”. The Starlight market provides even more food options, and there are performances by dancers at several spots inside the market. When I was there, the entrance was free as it was low season and raining a bit. The hotel also provides free breakfast, which is reasonable spread, but not too extensive. There is also one or two tour shops outside the hotel, and you can easily book one of the tours."

The room was quiet and peaceful, not disturbed by any night market noise. The decor created a great ambiance, and everything was clean. The service was attentive, especially the housekeeper who gave us useful tips to avoid tourist traps at the night market. It made our trip and sightseeing much more relaxing. "Gaozhuang truly transforms from day to night; its real charm only emerges in the evening! The melodious hulusi, the graceful Fannuo dance, the endless neon lights, the exotic Dai electronic music, and the bustling Ganbai Street. Since I'm not a fan of guesthouses, I always choose the Mekong Jinglan Hotel for my stays. I visited Gaozhuang two years ago and also stayed at Jinglan. The facilities, location, views, and service were all top-notch. So, for this trip to Gaozhuang, Jinglan was again my top choice! The room interiors, bed frames, and even the exterior walls are all well-maintained, indicating that the hotel is well-managed and invests in its upkeep, creating a positive cycle. This time, I'm staying in Gaozhuang for 4 days. I initially booked a two-day River View Executive Twin Room. At check-in, the lovely Miss Xiaoju at the front desk warmly welcomed me and helped arrange a high-floor room as requested. When I learned about the in-house suites on higher floors (fewer than 5 available, with better views, and not sold on platforms), Xiaoju proactively offered a key card for me to view them. After some discussion, Xiaoju offered a very favorable price within her authority. Consequently, I decided to book the in-house suite for another two days. A huge thank you to Xiaoju for her help! My vacation wasn't long enough this time to stay for the Dai New Year Water Splashing Festival. I'll definitely come back when I have more time to experience the three-day carnival!"

They even provided portable laundry detergent, which was a thoughtful touch for short trips, meaning we didn't need to bring our own toiletries. So many thoughtful details! "My overall experience during this stay was extremely satisfying. The hotel is conveniently located right at the entrance of Gaozhuang Night Market, making it super easy to walk to the Starlight Night Market. This made getting around and sightseeing a breeze. I was so comfortable that I decided to extend my stay by another night. "This hotel was an excellent choice! 👏👏 The location is superb, just a five-minute walk to the Starlight Night Market, yet across the street from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area. 😌 The biggest highlight is the amazing rooftop infinity pool 🏊 – the water is clean and it's perfect for photos 🎥, especially at dusk when you can swim while watching the sunset. The service was excellent, though the facilities could use some improvement. Location: Fantastic location right in the Gaozhuang Night Market. Navigation was clear. Cleanliness: The bedding was clean, the floors were tidy, and they even arranged for housekeeping after check-in. Service: The front desk staff were very attentive. They followed standard check-in procedures and even informed me in advance about my requested room orientation, upgrading my room type. Their response time during my stay was also very quick. Facilities: No smart home features (-0.2) or smart toilet (-0.3), but all essential amenities were available, including accessible facilities and a refrigerator right in the room. Comfort: The pool and the minimalist interior design were very comfortable, and the room was quite spacious. Dining: Breakfast was provided with a wide selection of both Chinese and Western options, all very abundant. Bonus Points: Late check-out available (+0.5), room upgrade (+0.5), and a laundry room (+0.5). No deductions."

This is the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Xishuangbanna. The environment is absolutely wonderful and super clean, and the bed is very comfy. The large pool on the first floor is great for swimming, and our room even had a balcony bathtub. The service was absolutely amazing, they almost carried me to bed! The front desk offers coffee and tea, and there's complimentary afternoon tea upon check-in. The breakfast in the morning has a fantastic variety. They also offer photography and laundry services. There's even another pool and a reading area on the 8th floor. Out of all the hotels I've ever stayed in, this is by far the best and most comfortable one.

This Mingyu Licheng Ademan Hotel in Banna was such a pleasant surprise! It's full of Southeast Asian charm, surrounded by lush rainforest greenery, and the pool light show creates an incredible atmosphere. The room was spacious and smart, with a Dyson hairdryer and Atelier Cologne toiletries, which really elevated the experience. The balcony offered a super relaxing view. The butler service was attentive, and they even offered pick-up and drop-off. The Dai-style rice noodles for breakfast were amazing. Absolutely fantastic value for money, definitely my top choice for accommodation in Banna!

something happened at this hotel that has never happened to me before. on the first night that i arrived i wanted to set down my luggage, use the bathroom quickly, then check out the surrounding night markets. i need to preface this by saying i’m a very experienced, decade-long bidet user. i book hotels specifically with smart toilets, and i’ve installed several bidets at home myself. let me just say this is the dumbest toilet i’ve ever seen in my life because the moment i stood up it started spraying me in the face. i was disgusted so i quickly moved over to the shower to cleanse myself. i figured maybe it’s a one off, and that i shouldn’t have to be afraid of a toilet. but the next time i tried to use it again, the moment i turned the bidet on it started spraying outside of the toilet bowl…all over the bathroom wall. i was once again disgusted so i cleaned the bathroom and showered twice on the night i arrived, and also did a load of laundry. i think whoever used the room before me set the bidet nozzle position so that it would spray outside of the bowl. my question is: 1) why would you do that? 2) to whoever designed this bidet/toilet, why would you allow someone to do that? i thought about moving hotels but i eventually got too lazy, plus the benefit of this hotel is that the location is fantastic. some of the most popular restaurants and cafes in the area are within a quick 5-10 minute walk. it’s such a lively neighborhood with everything you need at your fingertips. be mindful that cars cannot enter this area, as it’s all pedestrian streets. but there is a larger road maybe 2 minute walk away where it’s easy to call a car. the staff is always very helpful. for example on the night that i had to do laundry because of the crazy toilet, they helped me monitor the wash/dry cycle and all i had to do was pick up the clothes when they were done. aside from the poorly designed bathroom (aggressive toilet and sink faucet that sprays everywhere), the room is very clean, modern, and spacious. the breakfast is just okay, very simple and minimal options. at the moment there’s a lot of construction going on as well within the hotel, so on several mornings i was woken up by drilling at 9am. i think it’s overall a good value for your money, as the nightly rate is inexpensive. but be careful of their bathrooms.

Our stay at Pullman Xishuangbanna far exceeded expectations, and I have to sing its praises! Before we even arrived, our butler, Victorie, proactively reached out to ask about our preferences and needs. Knowing we had a baby, she had a bed rail installed in the room early on, which was incredibly baby-friendly! As soon as our flight landed, we received a message from the butler, and to our surprise, our room was upgraded! All the fatigue from our journey instantly disappeared. We were traveling with family, including young children and seniors, and had barely planned anything in advance. Our butler, Victoria, proactively checked in every day about our plans for the next day, patiently shared sightseeing tips, recommended local restaurants, and even helped us plan our itineraries. She was like a walking encyclopedia, always ready to answer any questions. The communication felt relaxed and comfortable, like chatting with a friend, making the entire trip worry-free and delightful. The service from all the hotel staff was incredibly sincere and thoughtful. The staff at the Chinese restaurant were attentive and caring. The doormen at the entrance always opened the car doors and helped with luggage whenever we arrived or departed. Seeing our energetic child, they would even gently carry him to a safe area away from traffic, showing great attention to detail and providing a strong sense of security. In the evening, the hotel's Dai dance party had a wonderful atmosphere – lively and fun, and the children absolutely loved it. On the plane ride home, our family already agreed that on our next trip to Xishuangbanna, we will definitely choose to stay at Pullman again!

I recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy. The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything. If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

Facilities: The shower pressure was great, very comfortable! Cleanliness: Decent enough. Environment: The soundproofing was pretty good. Around 10 PM, I could hear some people outside shouting slogans, perhaps doing a formation drill or something. The street was lively, but all other sounds were well-isolated. Service: Quite good. The auntie was very enthusiastic, and the young lady at the front desk was also lovely. Xishuangbanna Jinghong Gasa Airport private pick-up: The recommended restaurants were all delicious!!!

I was lucky enough to find an available room when I checked in, and the lovely front desk staff upgraded me to a better room. I stayed in the Sunset King Room, which had a huge balcony and was super comfortable. I could see the night view, and in the evening, my boyfriend and I enjoyed some BBQ and drinks on the balcony while taking in the scenery – it was quite relaxing. The pool is very photogenic; it was just too hot in the afternoon, so I'd recommend going in the evening for photos. The cleaning staff were also very thorough and paid attention to details. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'll definitely come back next time. The only downside is that Xishuangbanna is genuinely scorching hot!

The owner is a very, very thoughtful man from Northeast China. Seeing that I was a young woman and worried I wouldn't be able to carry my luggage, he offered to help me carry it upstairs. He's available 24/7 by phone. The location is excellent; it's just a short walk to a taxi stand and very close to the Starlight Night Market, only a few turns away. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area. I mentioned I'm a light sleeper, and he kindly arranged a very quiet room for me on the far side – truly a peaceful oasis. I also rented their electric scooter, and the owner charged it for me every night, so I didn't have to worry about it at all. It was fully charged when I woke up, making it incredibly convenient to get around. Traveling with such kindness made me feel so warm and cared for. Thank you, Uncle! This experience has further enhanced my positive impression of people from Northern China.
