NNH1999STAFF APPRECIATION: A special thanks to Xiao Zhang, who was absolutely lovely, and to Ms. LinLin who took such amazing care of me during my stay. Not only is she professional, but Ms. LinLin is incredibly kind, helpful, and warm. As a woman traveling alone to Bana for the first time for a short weekend trip, I was a bit intimidated. She not only helpfully advised me and offered a plan but gave me the freedom to adjust as needed and add my own favorites. More importantly, traveling with her I felt extremely safe and at ease. If you are ever in the area and are able to request a driver or guide around the city, please request her.
The staff themselves are all so, so kind and accommodating. There were issues with my flight, and my arrival date was pushed back. They did all they could to make this as painless a process for me as possible, making a frustrating situation less so. Thanks to the combined efforts of the hotel and trip.com, I did not suffer any losses on this trip. I am beyond grateful as many of my fellow passengers were not so fortunate. Any questions I had were promptly and patiently answered, which I greatly appreciate as a foreign guest.
HOTEL REVIEW: The hotel itself is well situated, facing both the mountains and the rivers. The room was clean, the amenities left nothing lacking. My favorite part was probably the pool which is open late. It was the perfect way to relax and enjoy the lovely night view of the river and bridge after walking around the nearby Night Market (another must-see place). The water is not deep, less than 2 meters, I think, and is safe for children and non-swimmers. I chose a room with its own pool in which one could relax before bed or early in the morning as the fog rolls in over the mountains. I only ate the breakfast, and the options were generous, a mix of Chinese and Western fare.
TLDR: I highly recommend this hotel for a location, comfort, convenience, and amazing customer service and care. If you have a chance to visit the pool at night, the view is great! It is a great option for solo travelers, couples, and children. If possible, I suggest hiring one of their drivers as a personal driver/guide. Request 淋淋! You won’t regret it. ✨️✨️

This Mingyu Licheng Ademan Hotel in Banna was such a pleasant surprise! It's full of Southeast Asian charm, surrounded by lush rainforest greenery, and the pool light show creates an incredible atmosphere. The room was spacious and smart, with a Dyson hairdryer and Atelier Cologne toiletries, which really elevated the experience. The balcony offered a super relaxing view. The butler service was attentive, and they even offered pick-up and drop-off. The Dai-style rice noodles for breakfast were amazing. Absolutely fantastic value for money, definitely my top choice for accommodation in Banna!

Guest Usersomething happened at this hotel that has never happened to me before. on the first night that i arrived i wanted to set down my luggage, use the bathroom quickly, then check out the surrounding night markets. i need to preface this by saying i’m a very experienced, decade-long bidet user. i book hotels specifically with smart toilets, and i’ve installed several bidets at home myself. let me just say this is the dumbest toilet i’ve ever seen in my life because the moment i stood up it started spraying me in the face. i was disgusted so i quickly moved over to the shower to cleanse myself. i figured maybe it’s a one off, and that i shouldn’t have to be afraid of a toilet. but the next time i tried to use it again, the moment i turned the bidet on it started spraying outside of the toilet bowl…all over the bathroom wall. i was once again disgusted so i cleaned the bathroom and showered twice on the night i arrived, and also did a load of laundry. i think whoever used the room before me set the bidet nozzle position so that it would spray outside of the bowl. my question is: 1) why would you do that? 2) to whoever designed this bidet/toilet, why would you allow someone to do that? i thought about moving hotels but i eventually got too lazy, plus the benefit of this hotel is that the location is fantastic. some of the most popular restaurants and cafes in the area are within a quick 5-10 minute walk. it’s such a lively neighborhood with everything you need at your fingertips. be mindful that cars cannot enter this area, as it’s all pedestrian streets. but there is a larger road maybe 2 minute walk away where it’s easy to call a car. the staff is always very helpful. for example on the night that i had to do laundry because of the crazy toilet, they helped me monitor the wash/dry cycle and all i had to do was pick up the clothes when they were done. aside from the poorly designed bathroom (aggressive toilet and sink faucet that sprays everywhere), the room is very clean, modern, and spacious. the breakfast is just okay, very simple and minimal options. at the moment there’s a lot of construction going on as well within the hotel, so on several mornings i was woken up by drilling at 9am. i think it’s overall a good value for your money, as the nightly rate is inexpensive. but be careful of their bathrooms.

I had a very nice stay at this very nice hotel. The room is quite new, quite large and very comfortable. Projection TV was an added bonus but not my cup of tea. Bed and pillows were excellent and I slept very well. Bathroom modern and flawless, with the nicest shower I have used in a long time. Breakfast was very good and buffet style. Overall this is an excellent stay and made even better by the most helpful staff I have encountered in China. Maybe anywhere. Particularly Lucy, who went way out of her way to get me where I was going. The desk staff was excellent, as was the breakfast staff, but I really needed help with travel, and Lucy went above and beyond a typical hotel staff member. Really excellent service. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.

The location is good, right at the entrance of Gaozhuang, so you can walk there. However, the facilities and service don't live up to a five-star (or diamond) rating. The decor and amenities are quite simple, feeling more like an apartment. The concierge service was great; they actively helped with luggage and were very polite about storing it. But the front desk was just average – expressionless, and looked annoyed when I asked for a bag. Although it's on a high floor, I'd advise light sleepers to reconsider, as there was loud music outside early in the morning, not sure if it was a public square dance or what. Overall, the experience was just okay.

The hotel environment is fantastic, like being immersed in a rainforest. My kids absolutely loved the pool, and the rainforest areas within the hotel are perfect for photos. The rooms are also very spacious. Plus, the staff are all incredibly friendly. Every day at breakfast, they'd give us flower cakes, durian cakes, or a local green specialty cake, all of which were delicious.
There was one minor incident: when I took my child to the Chinese restaurant for lunch, perhaps it was a bit late—around 2 PM. The staff member who initially greeted me was very pleasant. However, I think there was a shift change, and a different girl took over who was completely expressionless throughout the service. This was at 2:20 PM on June 26th, and her service attitude definitely needs improvement. This was the only uncomfortable part of our stay; everything else was absolutely perfect!

Anonymous UserI recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy.
The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy.
The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything.
If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

A very beautiful and cozy hotel. There's a lovely swimming pool on the 12th floor, and the hotel also has a laundry room and gym – very convenient. The receptionists, Bingbing and another young lady, were both very nice and caring towards children. They handled all our difficulties and problems proactively and appropriately, with warm and welcoming smiles. We asked them any questions we had about our trip, and they always provided practical advice. Thank you so much! We had a very pleasant stay.

I was lucky enough to find an available room when I checked in, and the lovely front desk staff upgraded me to a better room. I stayed in the Sunset King Room, which had a huge balcony and was super comfortable. I could see the night view, and in the evening, my boyfriend and I enjoyed some BBQ and drinks on the balcony while taking in the scenery – it was quite relaxing. The pool is very photogenic; it was just too hot in the afternoon, so I'd recommend going in the evening for photos. The cleaning staff were also very thorough and paid attention to details. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'll definitely come back next time. The only downside is that Xishuangbanna is genuinely scorching hot!

The owner is a very, very thoughtful man from Northeast China. Seeing that I was a young woman and worried I wouldn't be able to carry my luggage, he offered to help me carry it upstairs. He's available 24/7 by phone. The location is excellent; it's just a short walk to a taxi stand and very close to the Starlight Night Market, only a few turns away. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area. I mentioned I'm a light sleeper, and he kindly arranged a very quiet room for me on the far side – truly a peaceful oasis. I also rented their electric scooter, and the owner charged it for me every night, so I didn't have to worry about it at all. It was fully charged when I woke up, making it incredibly convenient to get around. Traveling with such kindness made me feel so warm and cared for. Thank you, Uncle! This experience has further enhanced my positive impression of people from Northern China.
