♡ A Magical Experience ♡ We had an incredible stay at the Beijing Wtown Resort (古北之光度假酒店), a luxurious property nestled in the scenic Gubei Water Town. The hotel’s unique W-shaped design added a modern yet elegant charm to the resort. The property was impeccably spotless, spacious, and offered 5-star service throughout our visit. Our room was a highlight, offering a direct view of the Great Wall of China—a breathtaking sight that made waking up each morning truly unforgettable. Another standout feature was the free access to the nearby hot spring, conveniently located just steps from the hotel. It was the perfect way to unwind and relax after exploring the town. The staff at the hotel were outstanding, and a special mention must go to Ms. Yang LiJun (杨利君小姐), who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. She assisted us with every aspect of our visit, from ensuring our accommodations were perfectly arranged to organizing a memorable Christmas Eve dining experience. Ms. Yang even went out of her way to help with our transportation back to Beijing City, which was particularly thoughtful given the distance from Gubei Town. Her warm hospitality, attention to detail, and professionalism truly stood out, leaving us with a lasting impression of her exceptional service. In summary, the Beijing Wtown Resort exceeded all expectations with its stunning design, luxurious amenities, and dedicated staff. We are deeply grateful to Ms. Yang for her efforts in making our stay truly special. This resort is a gem, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Struggled to decide on the overall rating. The hotel is clean, with a nice bath for soaking; staff are responsive. The location overall is fine but perhaps our expectations differed. Breakfast was provided - the variety akin to local breakfast tastes. Perfectly fine. The sticky point is the air conditioning, which is not controllable other than on and off. So by the last night we were forced to open the windows for some semblance of appropriate temperature and 'air flow. However, smoke from outside and noise from other rooms with similarly opened windows intruded into the room. I would think its better to label the hotel as not having individual air conditioning control.

This hotel is a small germ if you consider your stay at Beijing. Yes, it is a bit outside of the main city but the traffic connections towards the inner parts of Beijing is still reasonable. It is a rather quiet place to have a couple of days with the focus on relaxing when you have only a few things to do in Beijing. The set-up with a kind of traditional house structure - only two floors, square shaped outlying of the building, provides a rather friendly and easy to go feeling. The facilities are well maintained and the fountains in the central yard provide a nice addition together with the hot spring tubes. The surrounding of the artificial lake provides a nice atmosphere. Some visitors may regret that the area surrounding the hotel does not offer much. The stuff are well trained and carry out their tasks with the friendliness expected from a hotel at this level. I summary, I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a couple of relaxing days if you have to stay in Beijing and do not have a busy schedule at the same time.

The room is clean and comfortable with amenities provided including an iron and ironing board although there was a faint stench of smoke even though staff at the reception counter claimed that the hotel is non-smoking and offered to change the room if necessary. 5-min to metro Line 8, Beishatan station and just a few bus-stops away from the Olympic Park. What I enjoyed most was having supper Alfresco at Ya-ao restaurant. The ambience is good and the BBQ trotters, squid and scallops were delicious. Adjoining the hotel is a Spa, 喜汤-生活馆. The entry ticket is 39RMB inclusive of a simple breakfast. I booked two massage packages at the spa on Meituan and found the services passable. For those like me who wished to have a taste of the local spa culture could consider this.

Love this resort! We stayed for one night to visit Mutianyu Great Wall - definitely recommended doing it this way than driving in one day from Beijing. Resort is beautifully designed to blend with the surroundings, photos don’t do it justice! Our room had a view of the Great Wall which was amazing! Rooms are nicely furnished with great little touches (eye mask, extra heaters, fruits, roasted chestnuts:). Breakfast was a al carte in their bistro and it was very well prepared. You can also have drinks or free tea/coffee during the day. We had a dinner in the Vietnamese restaurant in their sister resort next door, another beautifully designed place, food ok. Hotel service was great (esp. Stanley), they offered free drop off and pick from the Mutianyu entrance (use WeChat to call for pick up). Also, they gave us free tix for art & architecture museum in the village - 5-10 mins walk, do visit if you can, museum is very contemporary, again great design, but still somehow sits nicely in this sweet village. Getting to resort with DiDi was painless, about CNY230 one way (premium car), about 80mins.

Very satisfied, especially the housekeeper Ms. Peng Cancan and her housekeeper team who provided very considerate service. I will choose St. Regis when I come to Beijing for business trips in the future!

The hotel room was very basic with no coffee machine and a crappy hair dryer. I tried to use the clothes line in the shower to dry the kid's swim suits, but it didn't reach the other side of the wall and just snapped off in my hand. The staff in the hotel are polite and helpful, but the staff in the hotsprings aren't so nice. I actually chose this hotel because the outside pools looked fun for kids, but it turns out it's part of a separate hotsprings area which isn't free for hotel guests. My husband and 2 month old had to buy a ticket to accompany my eldest and I even though they weren't using the facilities. Then, we only stayed outside for 30 minutes because we were eaten by mosquitoes. Avoid the outdoor hotsprings this time of year unless you don't mind mosquito bites. Extremely disappointed.

Very good option for a vacation in a city. The hotel has amenities of a resort, just at the outskirts of Beijing. Plenty of option to enjoy hot spring. If you enjoy ”traffic jam” in the large restaurant during lunch and evening time, having a package including meals, hot bath and accommodation is a good option. The hotel offers meals 4 times per day, breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper (midnight meal, just after the hot baths are closed). Little bit noisy and not pleasant rooms if not having windows outside. Good option to have vindows towards outside of hotel, more light and air. Overal good hotel, good service. Some things still need improvement, some refurbishing would be great, but indeed price-service-quality is very good level. And yes, is few minutes from metro station on line 16 (you count some 40 min to arrive downtown).

A Chinese style courtyard hotel modernised to great standards comparable to excellent hotel chain. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Checkin is done at the tourist Center. You could also purchase the Gubei water town entrance ticket at the same time at half price. Staff will give clear instructions on the process. There’s a connecting bus which will bring you to a stop near the hotel. The hotel is right outside the Simatai Great Wall ticketing counter. There’s a in house restaurant with excellent hot pot dinner. Great comfortable stay for 2 nights at Gubeikou.

Room hygiene: Full marks, full marks, full marks! Facilities and environment: Beautiful environment, clean and tidy facilities. There are mountains behind, and you can see the mountains in the distance. In front is the entrance to Mutianyu Great Wall. It takes 20 minutes to drive to Hongluo Temple. There are many restaurants around, which is very convenient. It should be more beautiful in summer. I will bring friends here next time. Service: Must be praised! The service is very polite and thoughtful, just like being at home, warm~ Special recommendation: Yu Liangzi Restaurant in the courtyard, the boss is very enthusiastic, the food is reliable and delicious, although the price is slightly higher than outside, but it is really worth the money, recommended to try. Especially in the courtyard, it is still very convenient.
