Beijing Historic Houses

We as a family of four with two 7yo who visit China for the first time love this stay very much. One thing we love is its proximity to main tourist sites like Tiananmen Sq, Forbidden City, Wangfujing, and Temple of Heaven, etc. The service is top-notched. Every staff member is friendly and would proactively offer assistance. The Meituan delivery lockers are in the secure place indoor. Love it. The hotel is one of a kind, like a museum. Make sure you spend sometime tour around. Some of the art pieces are better than the ones in actual museum.

Hotel staff Joe and Nina were very helpful with the checking in process! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Liked the hair dryer provided in the room too. If a full length mirror can be included in the rooms would be great. Good breakfast spread every morning.

Amazing experience!! Such a lovely mansion. The room is so comfy and beautiful. The staffs are so helpful and friendly. Free local snacks and refreshments available at the lobby too. Toilet and floor in the room are so warm, such a comfy room for winter stay. They even upgraded a bigger room for us for free! Great location, walking distance to the train station. Definitely worth the stay. Will stay again next time. Perfect stay if you want to have a chill vacation, definitely will recommend to others!! The best hotel I’ve stayed in Beijing so far.

We truly enjoyed our stay at 前门漫心. They were very attentative and thoughtful right when we arrived at the hotel. Hot pear soup were served to warm us up while they settled our check in. The front desk noticed that it is my girl's birthday the next day and asked if we would like to have a surprise for her. We were expecting a small piece of cake, but they surprised us with a whole room filled with the balloons and decorations. This is definitely a fond memory for my girl. The staff helped to order takeaways for my sick child ( one even offered to cook for her) and helped booked our 相声tickets too. Appreciate all their kind gestures. Special call out to 李伊，郭海強, 張鵬飛

Location is good and bad. Good that it is right by nanluo guxiang but is it extremely touristy and overpriced street. Lv da gun is about 2x the average price. Car is unable to enter so you have to carry your luggage about 5mins walk, either going through the tourist street or the back alley of hutongs to a side road. Neither was good choice for us as we have big and heavy luggages. Better off staying away from tourist areas but near to metro access. Beijing traffic is bad and slow. Room area is also small, barely any space to open up luggage on the floor. No bidet in toilet too

Hygiene: Very clean, the smell is very comfortable when entering the hotel. Service: Very proactive, call the front desk for anything you need and they are very timely. There is also a night bed service at night, and fruit and milk seem to be delivered. Facilities: The room is really small. The 1.5-meter bed should be OK for two people to sleep, but it is a little small for a family of three. When I booked it, it was really cheap. The price of about 600 during the Chinese New Year was convenient, but I actually suggest that the hotel can fix one side of the bed against the wall, which may be better for sleeping. ps. Many people complained that the room was small. There may be some errors in the photos, but the overall room area is there, and there is really nothing we can do.

We booked this hotel because of the palace architecture and also the reviews, but the location is really abit far from the main attraction. We have to use Didi all the time. The backyard of the hotel is nice. The 1st room we stayed at the 1st night was uncleaned, after we reflected to the front desk, they immediately changed another room for us.

I like this hotel very much. The service is very good, the room is very clean, and the small courtyard is refreshing and pleasant. The sun happened to be out these two days, and the small sun made the courtyard warm. There are only a few rooms in the whole courtyard, and the soundproofing is okay. Although the room facilities are a bit old, you can experience the joy of the small courtyard. The key is also a small door lock, which is very nice. But unfortunately, I found out on the third day that the TV was not working. There were ink marks on the curtains and the screen was broken. The overall feeling is average. It's okay to experience it, but next time I'd better stay in a chain hotel at the same price. The soundproofing of this facility is really a bit problematic, and one day we came back at 3:30 in the afternoon and it hadn't been cleaned yet. As for the soundproofing, it was as if someone passed by next to us, and the footsteps sounded like there was no soundproofing. The soundproofing is too poor. Suitable for experience, not suitable for permanent residence

It was built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is very shocking at first glance, especially the simple, heavy and exquisite wood carvings on the building, which were all hand-carved by the old craftsmen at that time. [Sakura R] The patio is also a major feature. In traditional Chinese culture, water is regarded as a symbol of wealth. The patio has a good meaning because it has flowing water. The selection of materials is very particular. The wood used is hard and not easy to rot. For example, there are typical Jiangnan-style building components such as winter melon beams, cow legs, and ingot trays. At night, the old version of the cartoon ”Journey to the West” is projected on both sides of the water. When night falls, the children sit on the mat and watch the cartoon under the starry sky. It feels great. [Sakura R] Walking in it during the day, the camphor wood fragrance is overflowing, and the soothing light music makes the heart peaceful. There are also unique waiters dressed in Chinese clothes. Wearing a set of Hanfu, freeze the moment, as if you have come to Jiangnan. [Sakura R] As night falls, the Expo closes and you have the whole park to yourself. The tall trees are lush and green, and the Guishui River is with you (the Guishui River is the mother river of the Yanqing people, a tributary of the Yongding River, and belongs to the Haihe River Basin). I have stayed at this hotel twice before and each time have had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. It is a very convenient location - close to Beijing Station and convenient for the subway. Incidentally - for the subway I prefer to use Jiangwamen station. It is a little further away than the Beijing Station Subway stop but so much easier as there is not the amount of traffic. The rooms are always clean and fresh with comfortable beds. The free luggage service to carry your suitcase to your room is very helpful. There are pleasant indoor and outdoor communal areas that are not open to the general public. Security is good and the staff are very helpful.
