The service was really good. We enjoyed the stay. The staff was very friendly. It is very near to the railway station, so it was really convenient. I should really appreciate the cleanliness, the rooms and the bathrooms were extremely clean. It was an amazing stay. All the staff did a really great job. Extremely happy. PS: the receptionist was very handsome. So extra happy😁
Jingli Hongyizhan Hotel (Beijing Dongzhimen Sanlitun Branch)

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
It is good hotel to spend couple of days and then leave it. Location is okay a bit far from Subway but you can deal with that. Room is very warm and good except that everything is old. Before you book you must make sure that where you book, Hotel have two different building one have elevator and another does not which mean you need to go to 3,4,5,6 floor by your own after very tired day. They charge us 150rmb for the room where elevator located. Corridors a bit smelly. Don’t buy the breakfast!!! It’s the worst breakfast in my life !!! Except egg you can’t eat anything. There is no restaurant in the building where you stay, reception give you coupons and you need to go the restaurant in opposite side of hotel where restaurant located. If you order more then 20rmb they’ll charge you more. But I’m sure you can’t eat anything except eggs. This hotel for tuff travelers who can survive without what others a bit expensive hotel can offer.
Beijing Lezai Nanluo Boutique Hotel

Houhai Area
Service by the staff was excellent. Was surprised to find that they provide complimentary laundry service. They lost one of my socks, but promptly compensated me with two brand new pairs the next day. Breakfast was decent for a boutique hotel. Can’t beat the location - in the middle of Nan Luo Gu Xiang. But if you’re using Didi, you’re better off getting dropped off / picked up on the main streets and then take a 5min walk into the hotel. Alleyways are too narrow for most cars. They have a rooftop area accessible by all guests. Amazing view - you can see almost all the surrounding hutongs.
Orange Hotel

Have stayed for a total of 5 nights across 2 bookings. The experience didn't start off well - the check-in took more than 30 mins although we were the only ones there. The front desk rep persistently asked us to cancel the booking on trip.com as they could offer us a better rate with free breakfast. We turned down the kind offer as we had plans to have breakfast outside, did not want to deal with the hassle of a credit card refund and the price difference wasn't that much anyway. This went on for more than 15 mins despite us telling him definitely that we just want to check in and rest after a long day. Room - cleanliness can be better. The room had a really musky smell. Gaps of the sofa were SO dirty with hair, dead skin and all kinds of stuff. Floor of shower area was grimy. Might be a personal preference issue but the electrical circuit of the Family room was really odd. While the family room had 2 bedrooms + 1 living room, there were only two light switches in total. The lights for one of the rooms (twin bed room) are connected to the living room. Only the queen bed room has a standalone switch. Please only book the family room if everyone is going to sleep and wake up at the same time else it's going to be torturous. We had checked with the front desk - it's apparently like this for all the family rooms except one which does not have a living room. Network connectivity - free wifi is provided. If you're a non-local trying to use vpn or sim that can connect to networks that can allow you to access social media platforms, good luck :) according to the front desk, ”too bad” as connectivity to some network providers at the hotel (e.g. china unicom) is just bad. House-keeping & Amenities - daily housekeeping was done (mainly throwing of trash and making of bed). Amenities (e.g. shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc.) are provided. There's also free self-service laundry & drying available. Location - generally ok if you're intending to take taxi / didi everywhere. Metro is a distance (>15 mins walk) away and the station is on Line 10. You would need to change at least once to arrive at popular tourist attractions. Not much good food around. There's a 7-11 about 7 mins walk away. Front desk service (2 males) - on top of the bad experience during check-in, most requests (other than one) were not attended to too. For example, requesting for one extra floor towel as the toilet is always wet (it never came) and requesting for help to book a taxi (the guest officer disappeared after agreeing to help and asked us to wait).

Renjoy Hotel

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
Stayed for 3 nights and chose this hotel for a more relaxed experience as our dates overlapped with the National Holidays. It has a nice and cozy courtyard where you can chill outside (the good weather was a plus!) which includes a mini fish pond, a seat swing. There’s also a cute cat that roams around as well. Building wise - There’s a total of 2 levels of rooms based on what I know. There’s no lift to the 2nd storey so remember to request for rooms on level 1 if you have difficulties accessing. Location - located in an old street of Beijing which is an experience I would say as surrounding are old houses and there are people that live there. As its located in an old street, it may be difficult for cars to drive in. One driver managed to drive in when we arrived but another driver requested us to come out to the main street when we are leaving the hotel. However that wasn’t an issue as its just a 5 min walk out to the main street (Guijie Street). Gui Jie street is a popular food street with many shops and restaurants and mostly opens at night and bustling with people. At one end of the Gui Jie, you will reach a metro station (~10min walk from hotel). Overall, a pleasant location for us. Breakfast - Simple breakfast located at the 2nd level of the building. Includes some simple chinese dishes as well as bread. Not a widespread, but it is sufficient. Room - Room is clean and cozy which includes a tea set for you to make tea and enjoy. The toilet is divided into dry and wet area (basin is located outside in the room). One of the downside personally on the toilet is that the glass is frosted (can see through a quite a bit with light) so it could be a bit uncomfortable depending who you are staying with. Separately since it is separated into wet and dry area, the shower area is quite small with only one hook located at the side and your clothes will get wet if you hang it there. One good thing is their brand for shampoo, soap etc smells really good. Amenities - free washing machine and dryer!! The machines are those small type so remember not to wash everything at one go. Dryer is not that strong so for a small amount of clothes you probably need 1 hour to dry it. You can collect small packets of detergent from the reception. Very good! Overall it is a very pleasant stay and the hotel staff gave us small token when we are leaving. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a different experience from a city-hotel!

Summer House

Universal Beijing Resort and Sorrounding
This is the first time staying at this hotel. It is about 10 mins from Universal Studio and they have a free shuttle to take you there (7am and 8am) and one free shuttle back at night about 9:30pm. I do not speak Mandarin and paying with my WeChat and Alipay without a China phone number was not working for me so calling taxi and ordering food was difficult. Thanks to the hostess (园儿姐) things went smoothly. She sent her contact, shuttle bus info and the hotel passcode via WeChat. When I need to order food, she allow us to order food via her phone as she waited patiently for us. When we reimburse her for the food, we gave her a bit more money because she waited for over half an hour for us to order but she insist not a penny more. On our last day out, we left the hotel very early in the morning as we tried to get a taxi ourselves since the hostess was not in yet but we ended up having to WeChat her for help. The hostess told us not to worry because she can order a taxi for us. We told her we were waiting at the same spot where the shuttle bus to Universal Studio picked us. She actually ran all the way from her home ( she lived approx. half an hour away) to where we were and waited with us until we got on to the taxi and she spoke to the taxi driver in Mandarin so he knows which airport to take us to.Honestly, where do you get this kind of service? The hostess speaks a bit of English ( she is taking courses to improve her English) but if we don’t understand each other, we use Alipay translated or the translation app on her phone. I definitely will come back again. Oh, FYI, the hostess do not enter your room to clean unless she have your permission which is great because I do not need cleaning everyday. They also provide disposable face and bath towel which I don’t mind because you know it is sanitary. She also greet you with a nice big plate of watermelon even when our plane was delayed by 4 hours and we did not arrive till approximately 11pm (she waited for us). I think if we would have set up our WeChat with a Chinese SIM card life would have been easier. We only got a Chinese SIM card after we left Summer House. After that, ordering food, calling taxi and making mobile payment was possible. I am grateful that the hostess went out of her way for us else we would have no idea how to order food. Hope this info help.
M Hotel Meridon Beijing (Sanlitun Tuanjiehu Subway Station)

Yansha Commercial Area
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Beijing :) will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Beijing. First, it is really close to Tuanjiehu Subway Station (walking distance < 8 mins) and makes it easier for us to travel from-to Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), both by taxi or train around 25-35 minutes. Not only that, we spent 6 days, 99% we were using the subway as it was easier, most affordable and efficient to visit the must-visit places in Beijing. The amenities were beyond our expectations, they even provided the laundry detergent so we could use the washing machine without additional charge. The same goes with the service, although there is a language barrier - but they did help us in any way they can and warmly all the time :)) using Wechat for text messaging helps as it can translate bothways (English to Chinese & vice versa). They did go beyond their services and we felt like we were staying at our own home. As for cleanliness, it is indeed clean even tho the property seems to have been used a lot. And last but not least, thank you for upgrading our room to a bigger one - you guys made our trip perfect :)
COFFIZZ HOTEL

Tian'anmen Square and Wangfujing Area
I was surprised that a 3-star hotel could provide me with a 4-star hotel service. The receptionist was friendly, and she allowed me and my family to check in early before 12 p.m. since there was an available room for us. Once I stepped into the room, its space and view were beyond my expectations. The toilet space is spacious as well. The Hotel Cleaner Auntie cleaned and tidied up our room daily. Importantly, this hotel is near WFJ Business Street and Subway Station. In short, I will recommend the traveller to stay in this hotel for mid-tier budget travelling.
