Cute boutique hotel located in the heart of old town. Walking distance to most of the major attractions. The size of the room is small, as expected in Europe, but the staff is friendly and accommodating to my requests (helped me with slightly earlier check in and arranging taxi to the main train station). I would stay here again.
Wonderful hotel, ideally positioned between lake & the city. Lovely breakfast, just can't fault it. Rooms are well appointed with extremely comfortable bed. Restaurant/Cafe are very nice with lovely views. Have stayed here 4-5 times & we'll be back next year to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Had a fantastic, albeit brief stay at the end of June 2023. Adler is centrally located in the historic heart of the city, but the double glazed windows block out any outside noise. I’m a super light sleeper, and we stayed on a Friday night, but didn’t hear a peep. That said: The room itself was tiny, but the view overlooking the square was charming. Very much a “what more do you need?” kind of vibe. The bed was very firm, and the pillows were very soft. For me, this is the opposite of my preference, but that’s personal, and I won’t fault the hotel. Elevator went out of order the morning of our departure, but they offered to carry our luggage down the stairs. This was definitely appreciated, as we were on the fourth floor. Also, I left my wedding ring on the nightstand, and upon realizing this, I called them: They offered to check, and called me back promptly to let me know they found it. No need to follow up, chase them down, bug them, etc. This was a great way to close the out transaction, and it left a very positive impression. I’d definitely stay again, thanks to the attitude of the staff.
Location was a little off central Zurich HB
Breakfast was mediocre
Room was spacious
Would appreciate if the lights behind the mirror in the bathroom can be switched off as it gets really warm during the daytime
Hotel staff were polite
The hotel is located near Lake Zurich. The overall price-performance ratio is not a problem in Zurich. After arriving at the hotel, the basic luggage service is up to the level of Park Hyatt. When checking in, the front desk was very enthusiastic and attentive. They actively provided us with help and introduced us to the various facilities of the hotel. When I thought I forgot my wallet at the previous hotel, I immediately offered to help contact them. The hotel room is considered large in Switzerland and has been well maintained since 2004. The only drawback is that the bathroom is a tilted angle that is more common in Europe, that is, there is no door that can be completely closed to separate the shower area. I personally don't like this design. In general, Park Hyatt Zurich is a good choice for a budget of 800-1000 Swiss francs per night.
We loved this hotel! Fabian and all of the front desk staff where amazing and made us feel so welcome. It's very close to the train station and walking distance to old town. Breakfast was also good in the M Lounge and the view from our junior suite was amazing. Our only complaint is the elevator situation. We almost missed our flight because it took us 30 minutes to get down. Only 2 out of 3 elevators where working the day we were leaving. Otherwise, it's a great hotel!
Room was clean and surroundings have plenty of food and shops. Supermarket is also a stone’s throw away. We got a nice view of the river. Only thing was we had to wait an hour before we could check in as the room wasn’t ready, but the staff compensated us with late check out the next day. No complaints other than that!

The breakfast is great and the service is very good. Because I live in Switzerland, I have stayed in a lot of hotels. This is the most cost-effective one. The transportation is convenient. You can go directly to the hotel by bus No. 13 from the railway station. Highly recommended.
The Ambassador is a newly renovated hotel just off the lake in Zurich. Old town and shopping just minutes away. Train station and tour busses a 30-minute walk Staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. WiFi didn't work but got a passcode for the business WiFi instead. Television also had some issues (kept rebooting). But, we chalk that up to a new place. Everything else was great!

AAndrew FComfortable hotel with nice rooms. Small balcony looking out on to a small square is a real highlight. Two bathrooms on each floor, which were modern and clean. Breakfast is morning was simple but enjoyable. Deducted a mark as beds were very firm and not very comfortable, but fine for one or two nights.
RRL2006RENThe hotel is just opposite the convention center, with convenient transportation and dining. The room size is worthy of 4-star standards in Europe. The room does not have an ironing board, which is not like the configuration of Holiday Inn.
MMomo9The hotel is conveniently located near the tram station. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, while others were not as welcoming. The room was small and lacked basic amenities. Breakfast is ok.
GGuest UserWe arrived a day early for our tour and didn’t think our room would be available yet, but the front staff asked for 15 minutes to check with house keeping. We lucked out and our rooms were available early. 300ish room courtyard side which is only one floor up. Bit of noise from the other side of the hotel due to construction, but not noticeable in our room. Great air con or use the large windows. Shower very hot so you don’t need to set it too high. Bit more modern than my taste, but grows on you and not garish colours. Easy tram ride to the old town for site seeing or take a stroll along the river beside the part. Wonderful gardens. Breakfast is plentiful and can be chaos in the morning when there are three groups in the hotel. Suggestion: Move the centre aisle of tables half a foot to the left so the the aisle on the right when you face the food is a bit larger. Use the first table on the right for the bowls and plates. Helps out those that are shorter. The people flow is better when it is right to left since the coffee machines are on the left. We did this flow the last day in the hotel with our group and it was less congested at the coffee.
Ddragonlp111The Limmathof was in the perfect location for me. It was less than four minutes’ walk to the main station, and steps from the trams (Central stop). I stayed in a single room with a single bed. It was adequate for my needs. The room also has a desk and chair and ample closet space. There is also a bathroom with shower. The hotel is very old fashioned. This is not a bad point unless you’re looking for mod comms. There is a power point where the tv is and one also under the bedside table. The rooms are very clean and there is maid service everyday. You can have breakfast if you want for extra money, although I didn’t partake. There is a luggage room, and restaurant inside the front door of the hotel. 24 hour main desk and Andreas was very helpful. The Coop supermarket is two minutes’ walk away which is very handy. I would definitely stay here again.
They were happy to store our baggage while in the cosmos trip, also on our last one night stay the let us store while we went out for the day. Made such a difference. Complimentary drink card comes with your room key. No one told us about it. I found it when reading the key cover. They provide a outlet for universal adapter. Most Swiss hotels we stayed in did not. Some you could get at desk when leaving a deposit. Rooms are not very big. However, they are clean and for one or two nights are good. No facilities to make tea or coffee in room or when we asked the staff. Not a lot of shops nearby and nothing open on Sunday.
GGuest UserYes, there is no hiding the fact that the Krone Pop-up has gone to great lengths to keep their prices as low as possible, but for the most part it is a well-run and comfortable base for short stays. The rooms and communal lounge are inviting, stylish and well-kept. The building is many centuries old, and traces its various incarnations are visible in these areas, giving it a quirky character. The views across the river to the old town are also beautiful. A hotel in this price category so close to HB is obviously a rarity, let alone one with nice perks like this. The WiFi was incredibly fast and stable. Late check-in worked perfectly. The hotel has a slick system for online check-in and the key dispenser at the entrance worked without a hitch. The Assistant Manager was really helpful and welcoming by e-mail in advance. To be fair, my stay was on a Sunday night, so the cleaning frequency may have been lower than usual, but the communal toilets and showers were not in great shape. They clearly are not designed for how intensely they are used, nor are they cleaned often enough for it. There's nothing worse in a communal shower than a moist shower curtain and no space to avoid it. Add to that the hair, sticky residue and grubby towel on the floor, and suddenly the room price doesn't seem like such a bargain. The solution is so simple: a pile of fresh floor towels and basket for used ones, plus some Mr. Clean for self-service cleaning during unmanned hours. The Soeder toiletries were lovely though! Arriving late on a hot day also proved to be unlucky, because I arrived to an overheated, stuffy room with no time to let it cool down before going to bed. The adjacent bar really is loud, but not much of a hindrance to sleep because it seems to close early (some time around midnight, on Sunday at least). The facing building across the narrow alley is very close and looks directly into the room, limiting the privacy and therefore how open you can leave the windows to let fresh air in. So, all-in-all the sleep quality was just too low. The heat, noise and lack of privacy made for a restless night. I just needed a place to spend 7 hours between my flight arriving late at night and then my train departing early the next morning, and the Krone Pop-up was the pragmatic choice for that. I wouldn't consider it for work trips - the sleep quality isn't good enough - but it could be a sociable, good-value base for leisure trips during the week.
DDaisyaaaaIf you are coming on summer please dont stay here this place no AC and they have online check in machine like useless reception working there location great food okay it was very very hot dyson fan not enough e
MMoAngusI was plagued with trepidation before staying at the Swiss Star California. I had read some negative comments on Google Maps and trip.com, and the dread of what might go wrong loomed heavy over me. However, as fate would have it, my fears were unwarranted - the hotel, or rather, the service apartment, turned out to be a pleasant surprise and surpassed my expectations.
The room was clean, well-equipped, and not too shabby. The heater functioned perfectly, which was a relief since it was a frosty February in Zurich. They had everything one would expect from a basic hotel room.
But here's a word of caution: after booking your stay, make sure to check your email. You will receive a message from the hotel, not just a confirmation, containing the passcode and room number. Without this information, you might find yourself stranded outside the door, with no one to receive your calls or help with check-in. Trust me; I know how it feels to be left out in the cold, frantically seeking assistance from Trip.com.
Furthermore, if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to pray for a room on the ground or first floor. Unfortunately, there is no lift in the building.
However, let's not forget that this is one of the most affordable places to stay in Zurich. With that in mind, who could realistically expect luxury amenities and top-notch service? All in all, Swiss Star California proved to be a pleasant surprise and an excellent value for the price.
