Family-friendly Hotels in Taichung

Will not come again. This was a horrible experience, I used to stay at this hotel many times years ago, but clearly this is not that same hotel anymore. Staff was friendly, but it was quite chaotic when we checked in, we could not find the bell boy to leave our bags. Breakfast was a joke, we sat in ridiculously low chairs for breakfast, and when I saw the manager, note, the manager not a waitress, picked up a bottle of yogurt from the floor and put back to the bowl for guest, it was quite shocking to me so I asked her why did she do that, she simply said to me ”it's not broken”. What a hotel！！

Not too bad, a very kid friendly hotel. It’s good to stay here when u are traveling with toddler, love their playroom which my son enjoys a lot in there.

Very good location. Short walk to Feng Chia night market. Walking distance to 7-11 too. They provide complimentary tidbits and drinks for guests from 1pm-8pm. Friendly staff. We like their entrance, big enough for taxi to drive near and load luggages.

Location: 5 mins walk from Taichung Railway station Nearby attraction: Miyahara ice cream shop, 15 mins walk to Erzhong market for local breakfast spot Be careful to note the differences between Taichung HSR and Taichung Railway station (we had to take the local train from the former to the latter after realizing our mistake hahah) Check out the ramen shop opposite the hotel selling prawn stock ramen, very yummy. Amenities Nice café at the level of reception that we had drinks vouchers to but didn't use. Basement level was a shared space with a nice cozy corner for reading / doing work, projector screening movies at night, instant noodles hour (10pm- 11pm) Our booking came w breakfast, simple buffet with yummy local cuisine, bread and toast + coffee/tea :')) Room was comfortable enough, brightly lit. Sound insulation not the best as we could hear the family next door and doors closing. Bathroom was simple, came with standing shower in the bathtub. Room was uniquely designed with bold colours and abstract act, gave it a nice style. Also had a Bluetooth speaker which we enjoyed using to play some background music as we unwind. Overall enjoyable stay, would come back again if coming back to Taichung

Overall services were good, from concierge, to check in and check out. The room that was allocated to us was spacious however they could have done better to do regular maintenance on their TV channels and systems. Some channels showed black screen with audio whereas some with visuals but no audio. Called up for service and they got a technician over to check yet no outcome and they decided to brush me off by blaming it on system updates backend. Tried over the next few days and still didn't work, and gave up eventually. Not returning to this hotel for my next trip to Taichung.

This hotel was right in the middle of Fengchia night market. The parking situation was not very friendly as guests aren’t allowed to enter until past 2pm, even if there’s space available. The parking attendant could improve on his customer service skills and not bark orders at drivers when they are parking the car. The rooms have poor sound insulation. There’s a billiard table at the lobby on top floor and the rooms underneath can hear every dropped ball.

Spacious room with two seated sofa and bathtub. Room filled with Colourful cartoon characters. Room has free snacks, candy and Coca-cola for kids to enjoy. Hotel even facilitates with two storeys tall tunnel slides and two children playroom. Highly recommended for children to stay.

Repeat stay at this hotel, with reliable reputation, excellent location close to TaiChung train station, clean rooms and outstanding team of staff here :) One of my friends was quietly celebrating birthday during stay, but the team noticed the birthdate on passport during check-in and surprised the group with a cake and a personalised greeting card. This was attentive and expectational for the hotel team, in addition to the continued good reputation of City Inn Hotel (Taichung Station). Thank you and all the best!

The hotel is in a good location, easy to get in and out. It has late night snacks and breakfast. It's great. The room is also great. The bathtub is quite big. The kids had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is poor. You can hear the sounds in the corridor very clearly.
