Find 5-Star Hotels in Taichung

Whenever I'm on a business trip to Taichung, I always stay here. I used to stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel next door, but ever since I discovered this place, there's been no looking back. I love that they have a sauna, and the rooms are spacious, quiet, with a minimalist design, and an open view. The breakfast buffet is also quite good. Once, I chatted with a guest in the elevator who turned out to be a local resident. He uses this hotel as his 'Club House,' coming here for the gym, sauna, and swimming pool – it seems like a great option for him too.

Overall, I was quite disappointed. Right from check-in, the staff couldn't find my reservation, and they even asked for my surname in English, and the number and gender of guests, which was a bit odd. I noticed a lot of things because I was waiting for my luggage in the lobby for a very long time. The seating area around the art installation in the lobby was dusty, especially the back rows, and the outdoor area was full of fallen leaves. While I was busy with my child and family arranging crafts, my luggage had already been taken to the room. When I realized I needed my carry-on bag, the staff said they would retrieve it from the room for me (we hadn't even checked into the room yet). I had a carry-on with my child's daily essentials, and my child needed to use the restroom. So, we waited in the lobby for that bag for nearly 20 minutes. Regarding the other facilities, the welcome tea was incredibly simple. The window in our room had large water stains on the glass (I initially thought it was fog). Below our room, there was an area with weeds and what looked like abandoned moss, which felt out of place. It seemed like the most effort the hotel put in was the gardening, and I couldn't understand why this particular area existed; it was a huge contrast. Considering all meal costs are extra, it really didn't offer good value for money at all. The food, however, was very good, and the laundry service was a plus. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming. If the room rates were lower, I might consider revisiting. But if the prices and facilities remain as they are, I won't be returning.

Room is spacious. Dinner choices are limited. Wonder why the Chinese restaurant have a day off without service and price Amis relatively expensive.

It was a theme park hotel. Very far from town. The hotel was not a bad one, the facilities inside are good, but it can be better for the price range. The theme park is very old, and rather run down, some equipments were closed and abandoned with rust... not a bad one, but consider the price paid, it was not value for money...will revisit if the theme park go thru major renovation.

The hotel is quite large and feels very new, perfect for families with kids. The breakfast spread is also very generous, and the outdoor hot springs and sauna are a definite plus. We stayed in a 4-person room, and it felt very cozy.

The location is a bit remote, which is inconvenient if you don't have your own car. While the hotel has both Chinese and Western restaurants, the Western one is closed on certain days. Without a reservation, finding a table for lunch at the Chinese restaurant can be difficult, potentially forcing you to dine elsewhere. The bathroom facilities are old and outdated, and there weren't enough towels provided. There's a public recreational area with some activities suitable for children and young adults. The private soaking tub in the room, where you can bathe at your leisure, is the only redeeming feature.

The environment is quiet and the hotel is relatively old, but it is clean and comfortable at 10 points! But the drive is a bit far, so it is recommended to go out early! There are also many restaurants and beautiful attractions near the hotel! It is a good place for vacation! Of course, the hot springs are also very good !
