After attending a concert in Nanning, I thought I'd come to Yangshuo for a vacation. For me, a good hotel can meet many needs. From hardware to software, thoughtful service makes you feel more at ease. From the moment I entered the hotel, I felt that thoughtfulness.
I'm quite a stickler for details. The hotel's cleanliness, the maintenance of its public areas, and even the toiletries are all meticulously chosen. The refrigerator, kettle, and hairdryer are all carefully prepared and not just thrown in. Also, the bathrobe is incredibly comfortable! That's a rare find! I booked a room with a terrace, and sitting there in the afternoon or early morning, you can really feel the tranquility of the mountains.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and there was also an afternoon tea (the desserts were tasty too). Initially, when I came to Yangshuo, I only felt that the scenery was beautiful. But staying at this hotel, I truly realized that even in such a so-called 'paradise,' you can experience a different, perhaps even more luxurious, feeling.
Honestly, if you want an excellent experience when you come to Yangshuo, you can choose this hotel. It's incredibly convenient whether you're going to eat at Ten-Mile Gallery or explore the old town. More importantly, the scenery viewed from within the hotel is absolutely twice as wonderful, without the crowds and noise (a true resort destination!). You really can fall in love with a city because of a hotel.
Everything above is my genuine feeling. The hotel's attention to detail is truly heartfelt, especially the large public lawn in front of the hotel, which gives a very relaxing and pleasant feeling. Considering the guest's experience, thumbs up!

YYSHKMy mum and I stayed here for four days during our visit to Yangshuo, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything quite like this hotel.
There are so many thoughtful touches that make it truly special. One of the standout features is the unlimited drinks service. You can order a range of delicious coffees and teas and have them delivered anywhere in the hotel. Every single one we tried was excellent.
Each evening between 9:30-11:30pm, the hotel offers complimentary healthy snacks delivered straight to your room, which was such a lovely touch. Also, mini fridge is also fully stocked and completely free, with a great selection of drinks.
Housekeeping is exceptional! They clean your room twice a day and even message you in advance to arrange times that suit you, ensuring you’re never disturbed.
We were also treated to a complimentary afternoon tea one day, along with fruit and cakes brought up to our room. Another unique feature was the cosmetic fridge, stocked with face masks, hand masks, makeup remover, hand cream, and other beauty items, all included as part of the stay. They also provide extras like wet wipes, rain covers, laundry bags, and eye masks, which really shows their attention to detail.
Breakfast each morning was incredible. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can order as much as you like from both the Western and local menu.
The heated pool, with its beautiful views, made it the perfect place to relax.
Honestly, one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Guilin was this hotel. The rooms are stunning, the location is ideal, and the service is truly exceptional. I can’t recommend Tong Hotel highly enough, thank you for such a wonderful stay!

MManmanyummyI came to Guilin Yangshuo for my birthday, and this secluded, niche hotel felt like I was living inside a traditional landscape painting.
It's not trying too hard to be an Instagram-famous spot; instead, it has that relaxed vibe of integrating the mountains into everyday life, slowing down even my breathing 🍃. The natural wood and white walls are clean and simple, but it's the karst peaks outside the window that truly shine. Open the window, and you're met with a flowing ink wash painting.
The rooftop moon-gazing platform offers stunning sunset views, making all of Yangshuo feel gentle. In the backyard, black swans leisurely glide in the pond, and when the mist machine in the bamboo forest turns on, it's absolutely magical – every photo you take looks like a high-quality shot 📸. The afternoon tea desserts are beautiful and not overly sweet, with mountains as your backdrop, and the coffee is also excellent ☕️.
The room's balcony **offers breathtaking mountain and water views ⛰️. The bedding and amenities in the room are top-notch 🔝. There are welcome fruits, and snacks and drinks are complimentary!
The attention to detail is superb 🥰. They not only provided face masks but even considered feminine hygiene needs! They also prepared a birthday cake for me on my birthday 🎂 – I was very touched ❤️.
The dinner was divine! The beer fish was tender and boneless, and the oily tea chicken was incredibly fragrant, all made to order. The chef is Michelin-level; the seasoning isn't heavy, perfectly capturing the local flavors. Breakfast is semi-buffet, with freshly cooked Guilin rice noodles paired with their exclusive sour bamboo shoots – I couldn't stop eating 🍜.
The biggest surprise was getting to interact with the animals! 🐰 The rabbits are soft and you can pet them freely, and 🦜 parrots will fly onto your shoulder. Kids didn't want to leave, and adults felt incredibly soothed ~.
The butler service was attentive and detail-oriented – this is truly what a vacation should be like ✨.

GGuest UserThe view from the fourth floor of the hotel is absolutely stunning, second only to the 'A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains' painting. The EV charging stations are super convenient, and there's always security on hand to manage them, so you can almost always get a charge. The hotel environment is lovely, and they even upgraded my room – I've never stayed in such a huge room in my life! And as a final touch, they even gave us a souvenir when we checked out.

GGuest UserThis was the best hotel experience we've had in Yangshuo! We're a family of three, and they kindly upgraded us to a suite upon arrival. The room was spacious, and while we couldn't see the Yulong River, the view was still lovely. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety too. A special shout-out to the front desk receptionist, a slender sister, who was smiling throughout our stay, making us feel incredibly welcome. The travel photography service was also great, and they even gave a gift to our child when we checked out. We'll definitely be back!

GGuilianduduvs66This is a beautiful hotel, and I stayed here for three nights. The hotel itself is a scenic spot; walking around, it's lush with trees, and you can smell different flowers. Every morning, I woke up to the sound of birds, surrounded by greenery, feeling like I was sleeping in a forest. The swimming pool in the room has circulating water, and the bedding is very comfortable. The living room has a Bose sound system, and there's a capsule coffee machine, tea set, and barware, all well-equipped. It's a private, standalone property, offering great privacy. The complimentary cinnamon cookies were delicious, and the breakfast was very rich, with both Western and Chinese options, so you could order something different each day. Dinner also tasted great. The hotel provides free electric bikes, which are very convenient for exploring the surrounding area, and the service is excellent. I'll definitely choose to stay here again when I come to Yangshuo.

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at Alila Yangshuo (formerly known as Yangshuo Sugar House Hotel). It is a very nice hotel with beautiful surroundings and a unique atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and always helpful throughout our stay. The location was great — convenient yet still scenic and relaxing.
The food was also excellent, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcome drink and the tea break arrangement in the room. The hotel offers many complimentary and chargeable activities, which gave us plenty of things to enjoy during our stay. We were especially impressed by the photographer — very professional and did a great job capturing memorable moments for us.
A special mention to the hotel team for being very considerate with checkout arrangements. They automatically offered us a late checkout to better match our train schedule, which made our departure much more comfortable and stress-free.
Two areas for improvement: the coffee with milk didn’t seem to be heated properly (we experienced a similar issue at other hotels too, so it may be related to the type of coffee machines commonly used here). Also, the hotel is next to a busy road — while the room’s sound insulation is fairly good, traffic noise could still be disturbing for light sleepers like my wife.
Overall, it was still a great experience, and we would gladly return.

CcessiegurlwunderI specifically picked this hotel as I was attracted by the view from the room. The hotel room turns out to be at another building within 2-3 minutes walk from the main hotel. The staff took initiative to inform me in advance on where to navigate to prior to my arrival. Also as I had some Taobao deliveries sent in advance, they also made sure my delivery items were placed in my room for my convenience.
The room has an excellent view of the Shi Li Hua Lang and on my last night of stay (Friday), i even saw fireworks from a distance.
The complimentary breakfast of either western or Chinese style; also came with a small buffet selection. I personally preferred the Chinese style. They also provided one complimentary welcome fruits (with canned drinks in the fridge) as well as one complimentary afternoon tea (two beverage and two dessert) during my stay. The staff kindly sent the afternoon tea over to our room for us to enjoy. There were also other complimentary activities which we did not join as we primarily wanted to just enjoy time seeing the view from our room.
I love the room for its design and it was kept very clean and well maintained. The staff on premise were very friendly and my favorite part was the cats on the premise who enjoyed getting pets and treats from me. There was also a grand piano at my hotel lobby, and i got to play on it.
The hotel also tied up with Ethan Photography for a complimentary photoshoot with costumes and 3 free photos. We booked a session and decided to top up for make up services plus extra photos. I have to compliment the make up artist who was very efficient and has great make up skills. All my friends who saw my photos said I look good in them. All in all, it was a great photography experience as they went the extra mile to bring us to nice scenic spots around the hotel vicinity. The service staff was not pushy at all and took time to share what packages were available. My mum and I settled on a package that we felt was reasonable and we received all the beautifully edited digital photos on the next day morning.

GGuest UserOverall, my stay was a mixed bag. The hotel's interior is elegant, but there's no real view outside, just a messy village. The price was on the higher side, but the overall service and attention to detail didn't match the cost, leading to an average experience.
**What I Liked:**
1. **Well-equipped and nicely decorated rooms.** They helped bring luggage to the room, replenished bottled water, and were quick to open the door when I forgot my key.
2. **Free feeding of peacocks and ducks** in the garden was a nice, enjoyable touch.
3. The signature beer fish and green vegetable dishes tasted good.
**Areas for Improvement and Specific Issues:**
1. **Restaurant dishes didn't match the menu; feedback was ineffective.** For dinner on May 15th, I ordered bamboo rice, expecting fresh rice steamed in a bamboo tube. Instead, it was actually stir-fried glutinous rice with cured meat served in a bamboo container, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. When I reported this to the waiter, they said it had always been prepared this way, and my feedback led to no resolution.
2. **Lack of attention to detail at breakfast.** During breakfast on May 16th, the hot milk and soy milk containers had no labels. Staff only put up labels after a guest pointed it out. The fried egg station was slow, requiring a wait, and the service wasn't as thoughtful or organized as it should be. At the noodle station, no one paid attention, and the server was indifferent.
3. **Specialty dishes were poor quality and overpriced.** The prices were even higher than a typical five-star hotel. For lunch on May 16th, I ordered braised goose with taro. The dish wasn't prepared authentically; the goose had a ***** smell, dry meat, and obvious signs of being pre-roasted. The goose and taro flavors were disjointed, and the sauce wasn't absorbed, making me suspect it wasn't freshly cooked but pre-made. Despite the high price, the dish was far from what was expected. After I complained, they only offered a small complimentary fruit platter, which felt like a perfunctory gesture.
4. **Lack of professional service and overpriced activities.** The afternoon tea on May 16th was limited to only sweet pastries. When I asked about the bamboo raft pricing, the staff on duty vaguely said they didn't know, showing a lack of professionalism. After expressing my dissatisfaction, another staff member eventually provided the price, which was significantly higher than outside docks. The hiking activity in the park also incurred an additional charge.
5. **Inadequate room cleaning service.** On the morning of May 16th, I pressed the 'make up room' button twice, but no one came to clean. I eventually had to actively contact housekeeping for the room to be cleaned.

We stayed in the family balcony suite, and it was so spacious that our child immediately started running around excitedly upon entering. It even came with a small tent and a building block table. With a large balcony and two bathrooms, our family of four was super comfortable, and my parents had their own private space. The room featured a king-sized bed and two single beds, plus four complimentary breakfasts – so convenient and great value.
The hotel really pays attention to family-friendly details: there's an indoor kids' play area and they gave us 20 game tokens, which kept our child entertained for hours. The bedside tables have wireless chargers, so no more searching for cables. The balcony has a drying rack and a rattan swing chair, making laundry super easy. Plus, there's free underground parking and EV charging spots, so driving here is stress-free.
And the 'Sky Realm' on the rooftop? Absolutely stunning for photos! The mirrored installation reflects the blue sky, white clouds, and the mountains of Yangshuo, making every shot look like a magazine cover. It's also just a 10-minute walk to West Street, which is super convenient for trying beer fish and exploring the night market. If you're coming to Yangshuo with kids, just book this place – you won't regret it!
