The location is very convenient. One can walk to nearby attractions and the Museum station for transit to and from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed me to check in early and check out one hour late. However, the WIFI is a bit slow and I didn’t get the connection for my computer unless I put it next to the microwave oven near the door, making it a bit inconvenient for me to do my work or conduct online meetings. The breakfast choices were the same during the whole time of my stay. I’m glad that I only stayed for 3 nights.

Great, cheap hotel, right at Darling Harbour. 5 minutes from everywhere. Very helpful, friendly staff. I only stayed one night because that’s all I needed but it is always my ‘go-to’ place in Sydney.

OK, so this review is through the lens of a Diamond Accor member. This means that, yes, I have stayed at Accor hotels a lot and so have become used to certain things as being standard across the network. But going to this ibis, and it's like it almost doesn't belong in the network. Starting with the good - the location. Easily walkable from Museum station if coming straight from airport, and not far at all to buses, light rail etc. Shopping options are good for essentials (over the road in World Square mall, downstairs is a Coles) and plenty of places to eat out (Chinatown). I probably should have sussed something might be wrong at check-in. One person serving one other guest. Three others in the back room just talking. After a couple of minutes, one comes out to serve. Must have had her attention for about 30 seconds before she walks away, and someone else comes out. It didn't end there. Three people to check us in. No acknowledgment of Diamond status. No mention of the promised room upgrade as a member benefit (I know they can't guarantee it, but customer service would dictate to at least acknowledge they checked). The fact that I had checked on the Accor app before arriving and seeing that there were rooms in the higher brackets available during our stay, it was a surprise to not be offered one, or to not even have it mentioned. We did get the welcome drink voucher, but upon getting to our room, there was no welcome gift. This is usual in all Accor chains - even the ibis and ibis Styles! I just think the mgmt here is looking to cut corners wherever they can. Getting these little acknowledgmentsof loyalty make the difference and in this case, would make the other things like a tiny bathroom and no working AC a little more tolerable. An apparent 'upgrade' to their fire systems means you are now advised to shower, hair dry, and even deodorant spray all inside the tiny bathroom, with the door closed. Or risk a $1600 callout fee which will be charged to your account. Erm, maybe get better fire systems that aren't activated by deodorant? The TV had a dangling sensor underneath it which when all the lights were out, made for a torch-like presence so the TV plugs had to be switched off each night. There are blackout blinds which work well, and there is a nightclub/pub next door for which you can hear the sounds but nothing too disturbing. Especially when you can hear the next room's convo word-for-word and nighttime coughing! Breakfast on L2 does the job - buffet style, cereals, pre-cut fruits etc. Just don't ask for anything that isn't in front of you...it doesn't exist. I asked for a coffee...was pointed to the coffee push-button machine. Not quite the fresh experience I had wanted. Asked for fried eggs - not possible and got pointed to the scrambled eggs (which I had seen and did not want). Asked for oat milk...pointed to the machine with cow's milk. Hello, griping stomach pains. The machine only made coffee or tea. No warm milk on its own

I had previously read the comments before booking at the capsule hotel as I usually do to avoid disappointment of available amenities, staff etc… when checking in I found the location in the heart of the CBD perfect with food vendors straight across from the hotel and a 2 minute walk from the light rail that takes you straight to the main shopping district and the rocks for all your art and entertainment. Staff were very kind and approachable even the guard at the bottom floor bar exit door was friendly to me when exiting at night. I found noise never to be an issue in the pods, although I did wear headphones at night time to listen to music but the room is practically always quiet. I was worried about how the air flow would be in the pods and about the mattress comfort from previous reviews thinking I may have got a one way ticket to a hot box scenario but I found it to be very comfortable with great airflow, I had the air flow on 1-2 levels at different times of the day and they still had an option for a third stronger airflow that I found unnecessary. I loved coming back to the pod for some RNR between my busy schedule over the three days I stayed here, the mattress for me was so comfortable and reminded me of the tatami mats in Japanese culture that they sleep on so as a westerner it actually opened my perspective to understanding Japanese culture better. I found that the shared bathrooms were always clean and never to crowded at both night and day. The last thing I can comment about is the storage was a great size I like that they had a hanger in your card accessed locker to dry your towel out through the day and still stay seperate from my belongings. Overall as a solo female traveller I would highly recommend the capsule hotel Sydney. I have stayed at hostels in Sydney close by to this hotel but that extra privacy allowed me to not feel like I wanted to stay out all day till bedtime. This was a last minute trip and if I ever had to book another last minute stay in the city I will book here.

The size of the room was stated when we booked, so no surprises there. Most importantly the room was clean. All staff were very friendly. The atmosphere is sometimes what 'makes a place' & this was the case for us. I'm sorry I didn't ask your name, but the barista rostered on the morning of Saturday 25th March 2023, you're amazing, not only do you make magnificent hot chocolate & my partner said your coffee was also fantastic, but your 'people skills' are exceptional!! Ibis Barangaroo is lucky to have you :-) We were also surprised to find the 'Archibald' exhibition on the hotel premises, we really enjoyed this & over two mornings saw many customers smile at this experience also. This gallery certainly complimented our stay, well done to all involved.

You can’t beat the location of Metro Apartments on King. The hotel is close to Darling Harbour and public transport to access other areas of the city. The accommodation itself is pretty average. Blankets were stuffed into garbage bags in the wardrobe but appeared clean. We folded one of the blankets under the fold out bed from the couch as it sagged in the middle. Good for location mostly and if you’re not fussy about accommodation.

The location is really good, no 5 minutes walk to the attraction. But because it is close to the roadside, it will feel noisy at night. The service is very good and very welcoming. The hotel is a bit old.

The lady at the front desk was very nice, ah, ah, awesome, and the plot staff was very cute when I stayed a few days later, and put the three dolls of our three girls on the bed. When I went back, it was super warm and tidy. , I just walked to the shopping place, and I was super close to darling harbour. The location of the hotel is great, equivalent to Xidan Wangfujing in Beijing. It is very convenient to go shopping when you go out. It is also convenient near the subway and bus. The hotel is very considerate. There is a coffee bar with coffee, tea and biscuits 🍪. The most important thing is that there is hot water, which is so important for Chinese people. There is a bar on the first floor of the hotel. You need to find a waiter in the bar to check in. Then there is a small door next to the bar to swipe the room card to enter. It feels very safe. The hotel room is slightly small, and the bathroom is also a glass room that feels added later. But this location is very cost-effective.

GGuest UserI stayed here for two nights and found it to be decent for a short stay in a great location transport wise. While hostels generally aren’t my usual choice, YHA Sydney Central fit my needs for a clean bed and bathroom. I liked that the toilets were outside the room - like a dorm! The regular cleaning of the bathrooms was particularly reassuring for someone like me who values cleanliness. The atmosphere was friendly, and the staff and fellow travellers were also lovely. There are a bunch of social activities that I couldn't attend but seemed good for any solo backpackers! There is also a pool and a paid locker service which was convenient. I didn’t use the kitchen, so I can’t comment on that aspect, but overall, this hostel is a practical choice for budget and solo travellers looking for a no-frills stay.

AAnonymous UserGreat location, just a short walk from train station. There is a woolworths on other side of train station, very convenient. Only one or two train stops and will reach city centre. Was given free breakfast, with a 24h access to coffee machine. Only first day didn't have housekeeping, we asked for housekeeping on second morning and subsequently had our rubbish cleared and soaps refilled. Overall a great stay!

GGuest UserYou hear to over and over in reference to hotels. ”You get what you pay for.” So, this place is cheap. For Sydney (where hotels are becoming absurdly expensive) it is very cheap. So, yes, it is old. The bathroom with its grey-green tiles reminded me of an old country hotel. The glass surround of the shower is grungy (but not dirty). The curtains don't quite fit. BUT ... the location is astounding. As advertised, it is literally a minute's walk to Sydney Town Hall. It is right in the very heart of the city. It is clean. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The place is quiet (note I had a room on the fourth floor - it may be noisier lower down). It has a modern working lift. The Wifi is good. The TV is erratic. And, most surprisingly, the room was actually quite roomy. The Coronation is MUCH better value than many inner city hotels. There are some that are more expensive which have only shared bathrooms; there are some that are very slightly cheaper that was actually pod or capsule hotels. Here you can get a proper room, a roomy room, with an ensuite bathroom, right in the heart of the city, cheaper than less well appointed alternatives. Sure, it's old. It isn't the Ritz. But it also doesn't charge Ritz prices. In truth it is an average establishment, but I am rating it very good because it is actually much better than expected, and the price - for the location - is fantastic. People will complain about it because it is old. Eventually it will get upgraded, and then it will be modern and white and gleaming - and much more expensive! Until that day, I'll stay there again, happily.

GGuest UserIt's OK, it is passable, it does the job but is nothing special. It is in an excellent location, a few doors down from the Central station and opposite a tram stop that is highly convenient. It is a little shabby in places, cleanliness is OK. The internet did not work at all, it would never connect. Luckily I could use the free internet from the hostel next door, but only when in the room which was on that side of the building. Before arriving we wanted to change our dates and shorten our stay by one day, but they would not do it, they made us cancel our booking and make a new one, but they charged the new booking at a higher price as it was much closer to the arrival date. So, it worked out more expensive to stay for one day less.

GGuest UserThe name Ibis Budget is the tip. Still, for the outskirts of Sydney it's not a bad deal. It's quiet, clean sheets, air conditioned sort of, and has the basic facilities. It's also adjacent a fair variety of dining options. Reception staff are good and efficient. It's cheap if not cheerful and no doubt I'll be back if it's enroute and I'm tired.

IIan MWe had an unfortunate time in October 2019 were our father had to have a quadrupal heart bypass. We looked at places to stay close to Liverpool hospital. We ended up staying at the El Toro at Liverpool. The Welcome we got was nothing but AAA class, the service we got in the pub and restaurant that is attached to the motel again AAA class. The meals that we had all fresh and beautiful. To name two of the staff although all staff were very friendly Jay and especially Cassie went rite out of their way to make sure that we were happy. Well done keep up the good work. Cheers.
