Sydney Motels

I am originally from Sydney, it was my first time back in 25 years and wanted to visit all the main sights. I stayed at the Maclin Lodge for two weeks, the location was ideal as after a day sightseeing etc it was good to get away from the hustle and bustle. The Campbelltown Mall and Macarthur Shopping Centre were close enough to make them great additions to the friendly and helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere of the Maclin Lodge. The room/apartment was clean and well equipped. As Arnie once said, ”I'll be back”

Room and amenities clean. Close to hospital which is why we were there. Also close to train station so you could get to other places easily. Affordable. Parking is good and reasonable rate. Will be staying there again.

Overall a good 3 night stay at the Hermitage. Large spacious room, fairly comfortable bed/bedding. Don’t know about aircon/heating as it was not used during our stay. Unfortunately it is not shown in the online pictures that the hotel is surrounded by commercial facilities on 3 sides and a highway on the 4th. Great to have a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a toaster (as breakfast is not offered at the hotel). Unfortunately, though you can cook toast there were no plates or knives supplied to put any butter or spreads on it. The restaurant meal was great, service was really good, wine list small (inexpensive) but fine. The whole experience was let down by our final night when we ordered in-house meals from the restaurant at 7.30 and when we called at 9pm to enquire how much longer they would be we were informed our order had been lost. Went to sleep hungry. Attitude over this issue was abysmal.

OK for one night. The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon. There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m. Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying. The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of ​​the supermarket. On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice. The beach is a ten-minute walk away.

The room was as expected as it was in my budget What let them down from a four star rating was the Mattress (hard as a rock) and the daily housekeeping which was minimal When I arrived there was a small piece of toilet paper in the shower/toilet area. I didnt pick it up as I thought housekeeping would remove it next day. It was still there when I checked out a few days later Vacuuming wasn’t done for two days and bench tops weren’t wiped down Bed wasn’t actually made, the bedding was just pulled up I was there for an emergency visit to Sydney so I didn’t really worry about the shortcomings. The Motel served its purpose for my visit The only thing that would stop me staying there again would be the mattress situation. Way too uncomfortable

Good location - close to shops and restaurants although we didn’t get a chance to explore due to our busy schedule. Nice service - waited me until midnight to help check in and make sure everything is ok. We truly appreciate that! Handy breakfast - milk, juice, bread, butter/jam, cereal, and fruits. Very convenient for us as we needed to rush to the competition in early morning. Will come back again in the next season and recommend to my friends.

Check-in is until 10:30 PM. I arrived at Sydney Airport at 9 PM and then had to pick up my rental car. I got to the hotel around 11 PM. I had previously contacted the hotel via Trip.com to let them know I would be arriving late, and it was no problem at all! The friendly lady warmly welcomed me. She just asked for my ID, then gave me my key card. Parking is free. When you check in, you can park your car for a few minutes to the left, opposite the office. Once you've checked in, you can use your key card to open a gate to park your car. It closes again for security. So, to enter, just hold your card to the right of the office, and the gate will open. To exit, there's a control panel on the right; just press it, and the gate will open. Parking spaces are fine, even for Suzukis. Right next to the parking spots, there's a staircase that leads to your room. On the downside: no elevator. Room amenities: 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners. Fresh towels. The bathroom takes a bit of getting used to. The tiles are in a dismal state, and if the bathroom door is left open, there's a constant light from outside. There's a sink with hot water, but the mirror is to the left of it. A hairdryer is provided. The bed is comfortable and large, easily fitting two people. There's also an additional bed to the left of the window, though its purpose isn't entirely clear to me. The walls resemble a prison. A TV is available. There's a kettle, instant coffee, and tea, along with spoons and cups. Opposite the bed is a large mirror. The air conditioning only works sporadically. Pros: Close to the airport. Free parking, affordable prices. Private bathroom. Aldi is a 20-minute walk away. A few huge spiders (by European standards) visited me in the room ;D Verdict: Perfectly fine for one or two days.

An older hotel still in original condition. Spacious, comfy bed, reasonably quiet for its location near a main road. Bathroom (shower and toilet) are interestingly behind a cupboard door and is quite small with a low roof. Sink is in room. Basic tea/coffee facilities. Windows can't be opened ( likely due to noise ) so only cooling option is a standalone air-conditioning unit, positioned on floor near base of bed - feet could get icy (if not under the covers) UNTIL the air-conditioning turns off by itself. I thought perhaps it was temperature controlled but it doesn't switch back on, so the room got hot during the night until i woke and turned it back on. Staff member was helpful and facilitated our late check in. 5 min drive from Hornsby Westfield and 3 min drive from Newcastle motorway. Larger towels and better pillows would be appreciated.

This is not really a deluxe room; it’s very basic. It seems to be an adapted space, likely from the former reception area. It only offers the bare minimum for an overnight stay. The breakfast is very weak, with very few options (barely enough to be considered as “included”). But it was ok. There is a bus stop within a 3–4 minute walk, and metro stations are about 11–12 minutes and 21–22 minutes away on foot.

The interior and the shower needs to be updated, very old and outdated. The floor in the shower fills up quickly and not running down the drain fast enough which was quite unpleasant to experience. The place needs heating or a heater as it can get quite cold during the winter. The queen bed was comfortable and warm and the room was spacious for 1 person. The reception is friendly and always smiling although it would be good to know in advance if my single bedroom that I booked for another booking so I didn't have to lugged 2 luggages and my handbag with my laptop into up and down the stairs as there are no lifts. I was surprised that a woman knocked on my door at 9:45am that she was ready to get into my room when in the booking, it says check out is 10am. That made check out a very annoying experience for me. The location is great as it's a short walk to the beach and Cronulla centre.
