Twin was very spacious. Travelling for work and was economical to share, including breakfast. Excellent sized room, decent in-room dining options and quality. Beyond expectations for a la carte breakfast, really smooth coffee. Gym was very well equipped, with light refreshments and storage available. Staff helpful, jovial, patient and friendly. Lovely, heritage building close to light rail and either end of Sydney CBD.

Everything went well. We were provided with the twin bed room as specified in our booking, with no unexpected surprises like being given a king bed, which we did not want.. Stayed for 3 nights. Amenities were of good quality. Service was not bad, was attended to immediately at the entrance by the bell boy who handed our luggages with enthusiasm. Was also allowed early checked in as our room was ready when we arrived.

attracted by its excellent location within walking distance to Darling Harbour and Pyrmont Bay for ferry access. However, I encountered several issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, the room was not soundproof. We were disturbed by the noise of children and banging on the wall from the adjacent room while trying to sleep. Despite calling the front desk twice, the noise continued, significantly disrupting our rest. Secondly, the handling of a fire alarm incident was inadequate. We were abruptly awakened by a voice announcement instructing immediate evacuation, without any prior investigation. This caused unnecessary panic, leading to some guests slipping on the stairs and others being barefoot. When we reached the lobby, the staff were working as usual and informed us that the alarm was triggered by someone smoking in a room. I believe the hotel should implement a more effective protocol for such incidents, including proper investigation before evacuation orders and clear instructions to avoid panic and injuries. I hope these concerns will be addressed to improve the experience for future guests.

Could improve more on the check in service. I booked this room in 2 different booking (on 2 platforms) as there was changes to our flight schedule. And the booking was done under my mum’s name as leading guest, other 3 person as other guests. When arrived at the hotel for check in, the staff insisted us to present the leading guest’s credit card/bank card for deposit, don’t allowed me to use my bank card for the deposit, or else they have the right to deny our check-in even I had explained that my mum didn’t bring her bank card as we are sponsoring her expenses in Australia, which I had also showed them the check-in coupon from the platform with full payment confirmation. They DO NOT ACCEPT other guests’s bank card/ credit card for the deposit even the names are shown in the booking confirmation voucher. At that time the attending staff has no intention to help us to resolve this issue but to ask us to settle ourselves in the booking App (which at this point the modification of the guest names are not allowed anymore in the App). After almost 20min of struggle with the platform app which we still couldn’t resolve it and after some hard time and negotiation with the staff, finally he agreed to let us check-in using my bank card to pay for the deposit. This is the first time I encounter such rule of insisting leading guest bank card for deposit ONLY, and do not accept other guest’s bank card for deposit payment. I hope the hotel can state this rule clearly in their introduction page to avoid similar circumstances happen again. Generally it’s a good stay with good price for the location and the amenities of this hotel. Easily accessible with tram and train. Many attractions within walking distance.

This is an amended review to highlight the ongoing lack of communication from the hotel. It is fair to say that the hotel had some great things going for it but, sadly, customer support is not one of them. Breakfast was excellent and the roof top Aster bar was a great place to enjoy a cocktail and see some spectacular sunsets. However, the whole thing was let down by extremely lacklustre support from the management down. My wife lost her glasses in the hotel. They are prescription reading glasses in very distinct designer frames and were in a sparkly gold box. We asked at the desk during check out if they had been found and were told that they had not been handed in but that reception would check with the Aster bar, where we believe they had been left but was closed at the time of check out. We were due to be in Sydney again in 4 days and the receptionist took all the details and a description of the glasses and case and said that she would email me to give me an update. Sadly we didn’t hear back. Four days later when we returned to Sydney we checked back at the hotel there was no note against our booking and the duty receptionist said nothing could be done but was unable to confirm if a check had been made in the Aster rooftop bar. I asked to speak to the duty manager and an Irish lady, whose name I sadly didn’t get, came out to speak to me. She was very apologetic and said it was not the normal standard we should expect from the hotel and promised to speak to the Aster staff and that she would get back to me by email before the end of the day. Sadly, no further communication was forthcoming and a follow up email to the hotel remains unanswered. We realise that the loss was our fault but the lack of interest from the staff and unfulfilled, empty promises from the management would definitely deter us from staying there again. It would appear that the management have no interest in fostering customer satisfaction.

Location is King, it’s within walking distance to the Rocks, Circular Quay, Pitt Street Mall, QVB. Walking distance to bus stops, light rail stop and subway., so you can literally spidering out anywhere in Sydney. The room I already check in was a standard room which I reserved, it’s a very nice room, however, the TV was not working and took the engineer over 20 minutes still not able to fix it. Per my request in changing to another room (which I expected to be another standard room), gratefully they offered me a better room on the top floor with a side view of Sydney bridge on the balcony Most hotels will encourage its guests to leave towels on the rack for environmental reason. Yet they always changed it anyway. And the Radisson Blu Plaza is the one hotel whose house keeping do really leave your towel on the rack. Well done. Knowledge on tourist attraction varies from one concierge from another. Really see if you are lucky that day. But overall I highly recommend this hotel in terms of service , location, comfort and hospitality I planned to have a dip in the hotel pool before heading to airport. Yet it’s not possible with a number of kids playing balls and making big splash dive into the pool, making other people using the pool not possible. Security guards were there twice to stop that, yet the moment they left, activities resumed. Hope the parents can be more considerate as it’s not a big pool

I really want to love this hotel but as a 5 star hotel, there are a number of basic details that even 4 star hotels get done effortlessly. For one, the check in was surprisingly manual. Having to write out a check in form with my details. I expected they would already have those details from my booking, even though I booked through a third party. Most hotels only ask for a credit card and that's it. But that was almost insignificant compared to the room tech experience. It wasn't made clear to me how to access the wifi compared to other hotels which made for a stressful half an hour trying to figure it out. Calling reception from my room took quite a while for them to pickup too. Worst of all, almost everything is exclusively controlled from a tablet. Turning the tv on and off, even adjusting the volume and changing channels all need to be done from a tablet (not great when it's pitch black). As well as controlling the lights and blinds. I work in tech and this is a classic case of over-engineering. At least give guest a second option for physical controls or tv remotes because that's easier than forcing them to become an expert of your custom room controls when they should be relaxing. Lastly they have a lovely restaurant - Dixson and Sons. But the opening hours are too limited. It isn't open every day or for lunch and seems to close a bit too early at 9pm instead of around at least 10 or 10.30pm. The same limitations apply to the room service. The last 2 issues seem to be a result of them perhaps trying to be more cost effective in order to be high end, but I feel it's ruining the experience. If they could resolve them I'd gladly come here more often, which I really want to. But I felt robbed of a relaxed and delightful experience by the complicated tech and limited restaurant hours.

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). GGuest UserFirstly, this hotel is perfectly located for business travellers to Macquarie Park Business Centres. The hotel is 5 minutes away from offices, Macquarie Centre and train stations. Absolutely perfect for my work trip. There were some positives. Rooms are fine, completely what you would expect from a business hotel. Bed was comfortable, there was a TV that I never used, space to put luggage and hang up your clothes, a table and a chair etc. However, it goes down hill from there. I'll list the negatives 1 by 1: 1. One pillow had a very strong odour coming from it. Smelled like bad musty BO. I literally had to move the pillow into the cupboard as I couldn't stand the smell. However, this meant that I could smell this musty smell every time I came in and out of the room. 2. 1 of the provide bath towels had a big hole/tear in it. 3. Housekeeping made an error and did not provide shampoo but instead 2 conditioners. Easy enough, I called up reception and they said I have to come down to the reception to get it myself. Fine, went down and was given 1 bottle of shampoo. I went back upstairs to shower only to find that the shampoo given was pre-opened/pre-used. Terrible. After my shower, I went back down to speak to another receptionist who was apologetic and gave me 2 bottles of shampoo. 4. On my second day, I realised housekeeping had not come in, so I went down to speak to the reception again and was told that because of COVID, they only do housekeeping on after the 3rd day of your stay which made it null and void for me. 5. Fitness centre was adequate but they did not replenish the towels and did not clear used towels regularly. On my second day, I had left a used towel on the side as the bin was full. On my third day, the bin was still full and my previous towel still sitting there in the same position I had left it in. Forth day, no more clean towels. 6. If they were so concerned about COVID, they would have more regular cleaning of public areas like the gym and in the hall way where an empty glass and cup set for 3 whole days. The lack of cleaning in public areas to me is unacceptable in the hospitality industry now. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone given my concerns above, especially the lack of cleanliness while we are dealing with an epidemic.

NNor HishamI stayed here from 31 Aug till 10 Sept. and really enjoyed it. Merely 10 minutes walk from the Intl Convention Center and the train stop, it was very convenient for me to get to the meetings at ICC and then off for some sightseeing in the city. The apartment was very clean and the in-room facilities were exactly as described in the website - and we used it all throughout our stay. Unfortunately we didn't use the common facilities (pool/etc) so I assumed it was Okay. There were grocery stores and eateries just around the corner for foodstuff and meals. And the staff was really friendly and helpful. But I would love it if the cleaning was done every 3 days for a long stay. If I do return to Sydney, I would consider Oaks Goldsbrough again.

GGuest UserGood rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card. A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been. Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.

CCamintelAlthough my room was very nice and what I expected, unfortunately my overall experience was not very pleasant at this hotel. The staff at the front desk was not only rude, they actually suggested that I find another hotel during check-in because I pointed out a fee discrepancy (credit card surcharges) that was not disclosed during my booking reservation on Trip.com app. Meriton properties doesn’t disclose before, during, or after the reservation (Trip.com) that a credit card usage fee will be added, and that’s dishonest in my opinion. What’s disappointing is the attitude I get for pointing out Meriton’s mistake. First they pointed to the sign on the front desk, however I didn’t make this reservation while standing in their front lobby. Second, they said I should have booked on their website next time where it’s disclosed—perhaps then Trip.com should remove them from their approved hotel list. Finally, to learn of the policy while I check-in by pointing to a sign at the front desk, and then being told that if I don’t like the policy that “I can checkout and take my business elsewhere”, was the last straw and is the definition of horrible customer service and poor resolution management. They could have handled this issue differently and just said, “we will look into it and try to do a better job of informing our customers of our policy online. We apologize for this miscommunication.” They did email me afterwards with an apology but they still didn’t acknowledge their dishonesty in not disclosing their credit card usage fee on Trip.com app.

GGuest UserI stayed at Crown Towers Perth in Sep 2022 and June 2023. I also stayed in Crown Towers Melbourne in Dec 2022. Thus, the next logical move is to stay in Crown Towers Sydney to complete my experience in staying at all 3 Crown Towers Hotel in Australia. I finally did that. Stayed at Crown Towers Sydney from 3 Nov to 8 Nov 2023. Today is 8 Nov 2023 and I will be checking out shortly. I stayed at an opera king room which has views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The room was very well lit and nice. Just the appropriate size for a sole traveller. I also managed to try most of the restaurants in Crown Towers Sydney except Yoshii Omakase which is so hard to book and Silks. I did not managed to book Yoshii even when it opened for booking. Guess too many people booking. I tried Epicurean for breakfast, dinner at A’Mare, Nobu, Woodcut and Oncore by Clare Smyth. I did not try Silks since being an Asian Chinese, I normally do not eat Chinese food when I go holiday. Got to try other food instead. My favourite restaurant is undoubtedly Oncore where I ordered the 7 course seasonal tasting menu. Superb. Woodcut was also good where I ordered their sirloin steak. Nobu was also nice as it completed my tour of all 3 Nobu in Australia having previously eaten at Nobu Perth and Melbourne when I stayed at Crown Towers there. For Nobu , I ordered the X Haku Omakase which is 5 course. The star of the course was the lobster. Overall I have enjoyed my stay in here. As Sarah Brightman is coming to Sydney in Aug to Oct 2024, I have already booked my tickets to watch her performance at Sydney Opera House in Sep 2024 and also booked a 4 night stay at Crown Towers Sydney again. For the future, I do hope Crown Towers Sydney can have a Crystal Club for breakfast like what Perth and Melbourne has. Also, hope to see more shops/entertainment areas at Crown and also a provision/gift/snack shop here at Crown Towers Sydney.

GGuest UserA great place to stay near Light Rail, Chinatown, Central, and shopping. Our room was excellent, and we found the reception staff always welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. It is an excellent hotel for location, for guests who may have difficulty walking up and down sloping streets, as it is in a comparably level area.
