Whilst we had some trepidation as the hotel below was thought to be a little noisy it turned out to be exactly the opposite. It was a great location right next to Wynard Station so travel was not a problem and Darling Harbour eats were just a pleasant stroll away.
The toons were basic but that’s to be expected at the price point but saying that, they missed nothing and the beds were firm and allowed for a great night’s sleep.
We highly recommend the hotel if visiting Sydney and want value for money, a great location and an around great stay.

The location is in the middle of the CBD and it is convenient to go to the sights. The room is a bit old and the WIFI signal is weak. The elevator has to manually open and close the door. The elevator has to open the door once and the floor of the first floor is not aligned. It is necessary to bend over and step on the way, which is terrible! Be careful of safety incidents. There is a waitress who doesn't care.

KKathhhLocation: Located in Haymarket, very close to Central Train Station and Haymarket Light Tram Station, there are bunch of restaurants and supermarkets (just within 3-10 mins walk) around the area which is very convenient for quick access to food, coffee/drinks and groceries.
Reception: Reception is very welcoming and friendly, also they provide services like help collecting letters and packages, printing services (1 copy is free yet multiple copies charge $0.2 per page), coin exchange etc. There’s a great open area in front of the reception where you can find sofas and a long workstation available for people to rest and work, the design is also very good.
Facilities: There’re a café (Roy’s Café), a bar/club (Side Bar) and a travel agency (Travel Up!) in the building, making my stay very accessible to all the things I need be it coffee or drinks or a travel advice.
Kitchen: Kitchen is on the 1/F, it’s relatively spacious. There’re 2 huge fridges and a locker wall for us to store our food. There’re total 8 stoves, 4 sinks, 3-4 microwaves, 1 oven and 1 hot water tap where you can have boiling hot water right away. All utensils are provided so that’s very convenient. Overall the kitchen area has exceeded my expectations.
Dorm area: My dorm is on the 4th floor, it’s relatively quiet. And because we’ll need our badges to access the elevator so the security is quite good as well. From the picture you can tell the dorm and hallway are clean enough, also the bathroom is very clean just I didn’t take a picture but it’s clean and comfortable. Also I love the interior design which made it looks aesthetic in a clean way. Just sometimes the dorm room might smells a little bit if your roommates bring in something smelly cuz you’re not able to open the window and the AC is not strong enough.
Laundry: There’s also a laundry room each floor, 2 washing machines ($6 each wash, if you need laundry detergent from the reception that will be another $1) and 2 dryers ($4 each use) are equipped, they are big enough to consume a lot of clothes at once which is very good. It could get quite busy at night so I suggested to set an alarm when doing your laundry if you don’t want your clothes being taken out by others.
Events: There are free / cheap events every day and every night, if you are a social person you’ll love it. All the volunteers and staff there are really welcoming and they will knock your door to give you invitations, I really love their enthusiasm! Been to wine and cheese night on a Wed night, vibes is good. So definitely recommend this hostel if you love meeting new people through events.
After it’s definitely a great stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central and I’d recommend it to people who love a vibrant hostel environment like this.

⭐️ I went to check in at around 11am I thought I had to check-in at 2pm but she let me in. Moreover, in the morning when I was checked-out she offered me that I can leave my luggage here in your room then come to get it after. It’s made me feel very happy with this hotel ❤️❗️

AAndreasMThe Alison Randwick is centrally located in the Randwick district and is easily accessible by bus or tram. This is a little further away from the city center, but also relatively close to the beaches.
The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was very clean and modernly equipped. It was the cleanest shared bathroom we have ever had. The rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable.
There is a kitchen that you can use at any time, as well as free parking.
For us it was a very nice and pleasant stay and we can only recommend the accommodation.

TTonkapiI reckon housekeeping didn’t make our room at all. The bed wasn’t look nice and neat but we were so tried so we take that room. We knew that the room has not been cleaned because the housekeeper has entered the room without knocking twice and asked us “how was the room.” This is on us to not change the room but they also didn’t done their job well. Lobby staff are great and helpful.

All the hotels in Sydney are expensive, and there was a dormitory option to keep the cost down, but I was worried because it was my first time traveling alone overseas, so I looked for a hotel with a single room and decided on this one. In the end, I was very satisfied.
The accommodation is on the second floor, the first floor is a bar, and check-in is done at the counter on the first floor. It seems that the day before my arrival was busy, so I was not able to enter the room early, but they can store your luggage even before check-in. All the staff were kind, and on the day of check-in, they also served drinks as a service. There were towels, a hair dryer, a refrigerator, shampoo, treatment, and body soap in the room. There are no pajamas, so I recommend bringing your own. I did not have cleaning during my stay, but it seems that cleaning is done every day unless you request it. The nearest Kingsgrove station is about 20 minutes from the airport and about 40 minutes from the city center. The hotel is about a 2-minute walk from the station, and there are supermarkets and restaurants near the station. If I have the opportunity to go to Sydney again, I would definitely like to stay here.

Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay.
The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻
The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice.
The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either.
The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.

GGuest UserCleanliness is very important to all the hotels and accommodation. because it can cause diseases. Dust comming from the fan and air-conditioning when it's running. I show cockroaches coming through the gaps on the walls. Specially the noise from the doors and air-conditioning need to be replaced. But although I realised this is how we all end it up if we after economy room. Management is very friendly but need more attention of cleanliness and maybe it's time to do renovations.

TTina FeThe hotel is situated close to olympic park. great if you opt to attend a concert and avoid the crowd. Our room is clean and has free toiletries, large bath towels, free tea and coffee, milk was at room temp ( not inside the fridge) we didn't bother using it as milk outside the fridge is concerning for us. The room ac is extremely noisy. It got a weird sound every 10-15 mins. The room given near the highway and above a late night pub, expect the noise, pls bring earplugs, and hair dryer, slippers and robe as we choose a shared bath for our room type. Not sure if there is a private suite. The shared bathroom only consists of 1 toilet and 1 bath for women. My partner also says it is the same layout for the men. Expect that there are some waiting during rush hours. Not sure how many rooms are shared for the amenities.
