"An extraordinary building ; one of the most architecturally impressive hotels in which I can remember staying, with wonderfully helpful staff and a location that can not be bettered -- with a commendable breakfast. Five stars ! But then . . .
Beautifully configured and equipped rooms but, constraints on urban buildings being what they are, and the architects having elected a stunning central skylit air- and light-well, our room, at least, had no window. Where was one to be placed, after all ? The air-conditioning worked well, but truly fresh air was not available.
The housekeeping staff had neglected the bathroom attached to the room that we used. Hair, a cotton-tipped applicator stick, and -- simply -- dirt were on the tiles. This can happen. It was very different from the rest of the experience of the stay. But there it was.
Have a look around when you check in. Ask for a repeat cleaning of your room if you think one is necessary. Enjoy your stay."

"Hotel is very conveniently located, next to the mall and central station, minutes walk to the bus station, central market and old town. Check in was perfect and helpful with city map provided. Kettle, cups, sachet tea and coffee are provided, shampoo, hand soap, tissue paper, shower cap were provided in the bathroom. Would be good if they provided body lotion and hair conditioner. Sadly, the power plugs at the desk does not fit a travel adaptor and there are no usb ports. The single bed was right next to the curtain and a mirror is right in front of the bed, very weird room design. There’s a safe deposit box in the room. Do remember to bring your own slippers as no room slippers are provided."

SShanghai based coupleExcellent rooms, hotel is within walking to the old town and nearby to the national art museum, and other places, so well located. Breakfast was outstanding, both for the quality of food, including the salmon, but also the variety. Staff, including at check-in were all helpful and very good.

SSandy86I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Metropole Hotel, and it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of my stay was the incredibly comfortable bed.I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to explore the city.
The location of the hotel is perfect, with easy access to popular attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. Whether you're there for business or leisure, the convenience of being in such a central spot is unbeatable.
The breakfast buffet was also great.
The staff were also attentive and helpful, making sure all my needs were met. Overall, I highly recommend the Metropole for anyone looking for a blend of comfort and prime location.

AAnonymous UserNice modern rooms in a fantastic location! Hotel spread across 3 buildings, but not an inconvenience.
Breakfast was excellent offering hot, cold and local food; it was late to open on the one day when we needed it most though, as we were going out very early. Staff generally very helpful and friendly.
Bed very comfy. Good radiators for drying soggy coats. Would stay again (and are planning to as well!).

MMukaddas KuzievaEverything was excellent, very clean hotel, cleaning every day, changing towels every day, so convenient location, a few meters beautiful park, where you can do walking, city center just 3 stops by tram, we bought 3 day travel pass for 8 euros, enjoyed our time, breakfast is amazing, thank you Chef and hotel management, it is worth 10 star hotel, it is true, amazing service, I will recommend and will come back again
P.S. Room we booked was very small standard :) asked for upgrade, but they couldn’t as high season and hotel was full

GGuest UserThe hotel has value for money in the old town area of Riga. Check in was smooth and we were able to get into our room quickly to drop off our bags and get to Arena Riga for an ice hockey game with limited time to get there. The location is very central to the sites of Riga's old town and there are some very good restaurants nearby. There are quite a few convenience stores and souvenir shops nearby but they close fairly early. The hotel has a very interesting feeling to it with exposed brick walls and original/restored wood beams and stairs. We appreciated that it also had an elevator to get to the top floor we stayed on.
We booked the twin room and had a pleasant stay and the room was quiet enough to get a good night's rest despite the bars nearby. The beds were comfy but the pillows were a little thin. The room had a fully stocked mini bar with decent prices which would help if we got desperate for drinks. There was a large wardrobe and a small work desk in the room too. There were also plugs conveniently placed around the room so we could get all our devices charged. The bathroom was quite large and we appreciated the hot shower and towel warmer. They provide handsoap and a body/hair gel for the shower. The rooms have air conditioning and the windows open to help with the stuffiness. The twin rooms have a slanted ceiling so my short wife had the bed on the slanted side and had no issues.
The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the variety of food brought out both mornings. They had hot items which changed a bit each day and included an egg omelette, bacon, potatoes, a Latvian pancake and sausages. There was a good spread of cold items too and we are sure a vegetarian would be satisfied with the offerings of vegetables, cheeses, devilled eggs and fruit. The coffee machine made a very good hot chocolate and they also provided juice and water with breakfast. There is a bar behind the check in counter that is open to hotel guests and a nice seating area in the lobby too if you're looking for something more later.
There is a sauna at the hotel but we weren't sure if it was open during our stay or what time it did open because there were no hours posted and we didn't get a chance to ask the staff. There is very limited free parking near the hotel and it seemed like the same local parked in front of the hotel each day. We would recommend taking the bus from the airport if you have the time but if you're in a hurry Bolt is pretty affordable in Riga to get around. There are car rentals north of the hotel and Bolt works in old town to book electric scooters and cars which was pretty convenient during our visit in Riga.

Marvelous view from the riverside. Lots of eating options in the breakfast buffet. The Spa was really fun both for adults as well as kids.

GGuest UserAn honest review from an British point of view. Location is great, noisy on a weekend if you go to bed before midnight. Beds in the room are very low to the ground with pillows that are awful very lumpy. thin duvets which are ideal in the summer. Breakfast is great. You have to book the Spa if you want to use it at an additional fee 18 euro I believe, I tried three times to say it was full? They admit last customer at 7pm but the Spa is open until 9pm. Over all I would compare the hotel to a Travel Lodge in UK certainly not 4 star high standard. Staff need to learn on how to smile it goes a long way for poor service.

Hotel shows that have a parking, but if You will go to the hotel by car you will receive a ticket from police man, so you need to find a parking place.
Was loud music till 11 pm.
The swimming pool experience was horrible, a lot of man had drinks and food from the local shop, nobody was there to keep on eye what’s going on, so we just left those drunk people to keep parting there.

MMeganGreat location for me as I love looking at local markets and the central market was a 10 minute walk away. Old town is much further as is the art nouveau streets however. It had a few dust bunnies behind the door, but overall very clean. Unfortunately, the toilet smelled of sewerage and the scent permeated the room. Still, the heater ran warm and no problems with the water temperature. Bed a little too soft so not for those with back pain. Decent breakfast with good croissants and sausage selection. Front desk was helpful and lent me an adapter to check if my charger was still working or if it was a cable issue. Overall smooth check in and out.
