Best Lijiang Hotels

"Having Afei's help was the highlight of our stay at Songzhuju. We don't speak Chinese, but Afei was happy to communicate with us through WeChat and Translation apps to check in on us, coordinate the booking of activities and recommend shows, restaurants, souvenir options, etc. Afei was quick to assist us when we were a little confused about locations, when we were feeling unwell from altitude of our mountain day trip; and when we needed to reschedule timing of activities. The location is excellent; approximately 100m walk to the North Gate which is the meeting point for all our Didi pickups and dropoffs. It is right in the hub of Old Town so it's so easy to explore on foot and very safe. There were a mix of travellers staying at this accommodation; including people who could communicate in Chinese and also people who couldn't. We were in the Luxury Queen room. Our room was exactly what we needed for our stay in Lijiang. It was on the upper level which is just one flight of stairs up; with large windows looking down to the lovely courtyard. Tea on arrival, Complimentary Breakfast (traditional food: rice noodle soup, cracker, fruit, sweet potato) and complimentary pick up from airport (included with our room type) was so appreciated and made our Lijiang trip nice and smooth. There is a washing machine and dryer which we made use of during our stay; and there is a coffee shop attached to the accommodation as well. Thank you so much Afei for all your help in making our experience and this accommodation so memorable for us."

"The room is excellent and is at end of a valley, which make it very peaceful and quiet to rest. Also around 5-10mins from northeast entrance. The mattress got heater and the room and environment was very classic making them so photogenic. The host is responsive and nice to help us carry our heavy bags to the room. Definitely recommended"

"One of My Best Stay Experiences—Authentic & Unforgettable This was one of my most memorable hotel stays, and I’ve stayed at many top-tier, five-star hotels around the world. While this may not be the most luxurious in terms of facilities, it more than makes up for it with its genuine charm and warmth. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. This welcoming vibe perfectly complements the enchanting atmosphere of this beautiful ancient city.   The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially from our top-floor room. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, offering a spectacular panorama of the old town and surrounding mountains. The location is ideal—perched on a small hill, it provides an elevated vantage point for those stunning views, though the short uphill walk may be a slight effort due to the altitude. But trust me, it’s worth it.   If you’re visiting Lijiang to immerse yourself in its relaxed beauty and rich culture, there’s no better place to stay. I originally booked for three nights but quickly realized I’d need more time—next visit, I’m planning a full week to truly unwind and soak it all in. This isn’t a place to rush; it’s a place to slow down, savor the moment, and let the magic of Lijiang embrace you.   I can’t wait to return."

"The weather in Lijiang is absolutely perfect; I never wanted to leave! It was so pleasant chatting with the owner, and I really admired their carefree and natural way of life. Lijiang is definitely a place I'll return to. Mitu Inn is newly renovated with excellent facilities. Unlike other places where the hot water was inconsistent (either too hot or too cold), Mitu Inn has constant hot water, which is a fantastic feature. Enjoying tea and conversation there was simply wonderful."

"This is our second experience staying in the Old Story Inns (OSI). Our first at Dali and second here at Lijiang. The front line employees are very approachable and service oriented. The Owner/Boss has no airs and very down-to-earth. He and his employees made our very short stay at Lijiang very memorable. Apart from the unpredictable weather, our stay in the OSI at Lijiang is, in short, two thumbs up. Keep up the good work everyone from the OSI at Lijiang! 😁"

"Our stay at this hotel was the highlight of our Yunnan trip, thanks to the incredible staff. We were warmly welcomed with afternoon snacks and genuine care. The scenery from our hotel room was spectacular! The service was truly thoughtful as well. The staff asked about our itinerary and offered excellent recommendations for local food and attractions. When they found out we were going to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Tiger Leaping Gorge, they went the extra mile and prepared a bag of snacks for us to help prevent altitude sickness. This kind of personal attention is rare and so appreciated. It's a wonderful place to stay where you will definitely feel the warmth and hospitality. We felt completely at home and would recommend it to anyone!"

"The combination of ancient and modern design. Room is spacious and clean. Of course the owner is helpful and friendly. They provide authentic delicious Yunnan mixian as breakfast. Location is super convenient, walking distance to Zhong Yi Market & Lijiang old town South Gate."

"The boss is kind and cordial! It feels like home! When we travel with our children, we choose accommodation because we like clean and comfortable accommodation! Joy fits perfectly and is really clean! Take the stairs to the observation deck! Coming down is a bar street! You can take a taxi not far away! Great location! Will stay again next time I come! "I was in for a surprise when I realized this hotel was located in the mountain. There is a pick-up/drop-off point at the top of the hill. It takes about 3-5 minutes walk down to the hotel. The hotel manager helped us with the luggage during check-in/out. To get to the ancient town, it’s about 10 minutes walk down. Along the way you will pass by other beautiful sceneries before arriving at a side street of the bar street in the ancient town. The rooms are a bit run down due to humidity, but it’s very spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a Very serene vibe. Very relaxing. I’m happy we stayed at this hotel, and would recommend fellow travelers (who don’t mind to hike a little) to stay here too!"

"We stayed at this guesthouse for 3 nights. Everybody here is very nice and helpful, the service was amazing! They will help you with anything (for example booking tickets, giving recommendations and carrying your luggage as they don’t have an elevator). The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a room overlooking the Jade Snow Mountain. Would highly recommend staying here!"
