PpostcardsandstampsWe enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return.
Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet.
Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy.
Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea.
Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent.
Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights.
Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

RRenee C.I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay.
Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out.
YUNDUâs Samoyed dog, Sanjin (ä¸ć¤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like âĺťćç
§ďźĺťčˇĺ§ĺ§çŠâ and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful.
First impressions were great.
As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing.
I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable.
Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup.
There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby.
Service was one of YUNDUâs strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin.
The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened â neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing.
The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay.
I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. If you love Baisha, come to YUNDU.

I stayed for three nights and was very satisfied. Here are the highlights:
1. **Excellent Location**: Just a two-minute walk through the alley brings you to Sifang Street. It truly is a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle.
2. **Attentive Service**: The service was thorough and detailed in every aspect.
The guesthouse arranged complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off. The transfer of people and luggage was seamless and very efficient. Since we were flying to different cities at different times, the guesthouse thoughtfully arranged separate drop-offs for each of us.
The laundry service was also incredibly convenient for long-term travelers like us.
3. **Mountain View Room**: You can see the snow-capped mountains right from the room. It felt like being embraced by the mountains, perfect for relaxing and watching the clouds, mountains, and sunset.
4. **Complimentary Tea Room**: The tea room offers free tea. We bought some interesting fruits from Zhongyi Market and had a 'fruit test' while sipping tea, which was a delightful experience.

GGuest UserOur stay was incredibly warm and pleasant. The staff were enthusiastic and attentive, proactively upgrading us to a snow mountain view room, which added an extra touch of surprise to our three-day, two-night stay.
The welcome milk tea upon arrival was impressive, and the hotel also offers latte, hot chocolate, homemade wine, white wine, red wine, and an abundance of fresh fruit all day long â truly a fruit paradise. The daily activity schedule is also very thoughtful, with the hotel providing timely updates via WeChat groups, including breakfast reminders, various activity options throughout the day, afternoon tea, and evening sleep-aid drinks.
The environment is clean and comfortable, and the service is meticulous. Staying over Christmas, they even arranged fireworks in the evening, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Overall, the entire experience offered great value for money, and I would be willing to stay here again.

The location is absolutely perfect. It's on Lion Mountain, super close to Sifang Street. You can walk to the core area of the old town in just a few minutes, yet it's still away from the hustle and bustle, so I slept incredibly soundly at night. The biggest surprise was the huge viewing terrace. In the morning, you can watch the sunrise paint the gray tiled roofs red, and in the evening, you can sit and feel the breeze while watching the old town light up. Every photo you take is a beautiful scene that needs no editing. The room has a Naxi wooden structure style, combined with modern design. The large floor-toceiling windows offer fantastic natural light, and both the heating and air conditioning were very strong, which was so thoughtful in Lijiang's slightly chilly weather. The bedding was super soft, and I slept wonderfully.
The owner and staff truly embody 'attentiveness' to their core! We had large suitcases and when we arrived at the entrance of the old town, a quick call brought a staff member to pick us up, saving us the trouble of dragging our luggage on the cobblestone streets. After checking in, they gave us a super detailed guide to eating, drinking, and entertainment, even marking niche photo spots clearly. They also kindly treated us to hot tea and flower cakes. When we left, they proactively helped us carry our luggage to the roadside and thoughtfully reminded us about taxi precautions. It felt as comfortable as staying at a friend's house.
The public tea room is beautiful; you can sit there and daydream, or chat with friends from all over the world. This is the slow pace of life Lijiang should offer~ Whether it's the design, service, or value for money, everything is top-notch. I'll definitely stay here again next time I come to Lijiang, and I've already recommended it to friends who are planning to visit!

Yuhu Village was an excellent choice, offering close-up views of the snow-capped mountains. đď¸ Walking along the village paths, seeing the snow mountains in the distance with horses passing by, and few people around, it felt very healing. đ¨ Staying at Baolin was hassle-free; the parking lot is right next door, so you can access the back entrance without much walking. The room was quiet and comfortable. I've stayed in many hotels in Yunnan, and đ Baolin offers the best value for money in the 800-yuan price range. You can even see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' (sunrise reflection on the snow mountain) from the balcony. It's not just another trendy, superficial place; the room's aesthetics and quality are top-notch, and it's very comfortable to stay in. In winter, the lobby has a fireplace đĽ, and sitting by the fire with a cup of tea is incredibly cozy. What a shame I only stayed one night; next time, I'll definitely set aside more time for Yuhu Village and Baolin.

Located in the heart of Lijiang's ancient city, Yunman is close to the North Gate and offers convenient transportation. The entire hotel embodies the Song Dynasty aesthetic, creating a tranquil, warm, and upscale atmosphere. The small, two-story wooden building with a courtyard boasts a rich, retro, and ethnic feel. It felt reassuring and instantly detached from the bustle of the ancient city. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, coming out to greet us and carry our luggage, even putting it in our rooms in advance. We also provided a tea welcome. Whether it was the Yunman butler or the service staff, they all greeted us with a smile and a gentle greeting, making us feel like we were right at home. The room features vintage furnishings, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable and high-end; you'll want to fall asleep instantly. The toiletries, including a Dyson hair dryer, premium mineral water, and the meticulous laundry service, made our short stay incredibly cozy. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, far exceeding that of similar hotels, even down to the cleanliness of the bathroom sink. I was also very satisfied with the afternoon tea and breakfast, which were really customized and cooked to order. There was no pre-prepared food, it was not a buffet, and it was served in portions. The ingredients were fresh, distinctive, high-end, hygienic and delicious. They also had many public areas, including cafes, viewing platforms, KTVs, billiards, gyms, etc. I highly recommend it.

Their housekeeper contacted us a day in advance to ask about our arrival time and came out to pick us up. They also offered afternoon tea, and what touched me most was their complimentary late-night sweet soup â so thoughtful! The room was very cozy, and the biggest surprise was the underfloor heating, which wasn't an extra charge. I feel really lucky to have found such a hidden gem this time.

Facilities: The open-air heated massage private onsen was fantastic. The room directly faced the 'Golden Mountain in Sunlight' view.
Service: Our butler, Luna, provided excellent service. She helped us book a photography session in advance, arranged our room, including housekeeping, answered all our questions, booked our airport transfer, and took care of little things like the 'Little Turtle' welcome gift and bottled water. Highly recommend! The turndown service was particularly special: on the first night, we had a rose milk foot bath in a copper basin, and on the second night, it was a coarse salt foot bath in a copper basin. Breakfast was also good and came with a scenic view.
One-way airport transfer between the hotel and Lijiang Sanyi Airport: The airport drop-off service was good.
One complimentary ethnic costume photography session (requires booking at least 1 day in advance): I had already taken photos in ******* and Yi costumes a few days prior, so here I tried on Miao ethnic clothing, which was another great experience of local culture. I didn't add any extra photos beyond the included five.
Seasonal welcome fruit: We received small fruit baskets on both days. In the evening, there were fresh juices and small cakes â red pitaya juice and orange juice. There was also a large cake in the fridge!

GGuest UserI booked for two days as a solo traveler. The room was very spacious, and having an elevator made it much more convenient than staying inside the old town. My main activity was hiking, which meant my clothes would get sweaty and dusty. The hotel having a washer-dryer combo was incredibly convenient for this, but unfortunately, it suddenly stopped drying on the second day, which was a real shame. The room was well-equipped, though some amenities had minor imperfections. For example, the Xiao Ai smart speaker wasn't connected to the internet, so its smart functions couldn't be used; the hotel might need to ensure it's properly connected. Overall, at this price point, it's an excellent choice. I'd definitely come back again.
