This is a cozy and well-located homestay near two ancient towns — Lijiang Ancient City and Shuhe Ancient City. We had an amazing stay at 朴致酒店 in Lijiang Old Town! We upgraded to the V5 room and it was absolutely worth it — the bed was super cozy, the bathtub was large and relaxing, and the automatic toilet was a nice modern touch. The hot water was consistent, and we loved the high-quality toiletries — the shampoo, body wash, and lotion all smelled great and felt luxurious. The service here was beyond impressive. From the moment we arrived, staff helped carry our luggage through the Old Town to the hotel. We were offered thoughtful touches throughout our stay — delicious afternoon tea, fresh fruit, sweet soup at night, a hearty breakfast, and even laundry service that washed and dried our clothes in just 3 hours! We were truly amazed. All the staff were incredibly polite and helpful, always going the extra mile. They greeted us warmly every day, quickly assisted with our room heating, and gave us genuine advice on what to buy locally. Even on our departure, they helped carry our bags — something we truly appreciated. A special thank you to 小黑, our butler from 朴致酒店. She was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional. The Anyu Lijiang is exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect because it is in the ancient town and in the quieter and less crowded part. Very convenient. ROOM: The decoration style of the hotel is unique, which not only retains the traditional charm of the ancient city, but also incorporates modern design concepts. The most important is the magnificent view of 玉龙雪山. MEAL: Breakfast: Breakfast is presented in a semi-self-service form. The daily set meal is delicate and beautifully presented. Also, afternoon tea every day, and the fruit drinks available all day, all make people feel considerate and practical. Special THANKS to: SHY - A handsome guy who help picking up the luggage at the intersection. He always appeared with a gentle and caring attitude, which made our whole stay feel at home. On such a rainy night, the chicken and mushroom hot pot carefully prepared by the hotel is not only delicious, but also warms the hearts of the guests. Everything about this place could not have been more delightful! My wife and I stayed here for a week but if we didn’t have to go back to work, we would have stayed even longer! The staff here are very attentive, knowledgeable with the area, and sincere. When you stay here, you will be in good hands, these people really make you feel at home and in good company! This place is serene, so if you need to come relax your mind and body, this is the place to be! Getting here the first time would be a little tricky but that’s with getting to any place that’s located inside the ancient city (GuCheng) of Lijiang. Cars are not able to enter the city so you will be dropped off at an entry way and wind your way through the old cobble streets. The location of Passing Cloud though is very convenient as the entry way is just a 6-8min walk. It is located almost next door to Mu Mansion, few minutes away from the Market Square, Big Water Wheel, and the Zhongyi Market (local fruit/vegetables/dried goods market in the day and street food market at night). For breakfast you’ll be served the staple Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, milk, congee, there will always be a variation with the sides, which includes some fruit, dumplings, pickled vegetables, stir fried dried mushrooms, a small bakery item (cake/bread/roll/sandwich).

The place is very clean, service is very good. We are from Malaysia and the food suits our appetite very well. The butler is very responsive as well, very quick response to our queries throughout the trip. Location was perfect, is located at the quieter side of the old town. Easy access to restaurants and bars. One downside: We stayed for 3 nights, breakfast are the same throughout our stays. Breakfast was super delicious but we hoped to have more varieties. Recommended for families. This chubby cat was chilling beside us while we are having our afternoon tea🤣

Excellent location at the very entrance to the ancient city, central but tucked away from the busy nightlife. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard to relax. The breakfast is very good and plentiful. I could never finish it! The room was big, clean and had all the comforts. The best part of my stay, however, was the exceptional service provided by the hotel owner. He took the time to recommend some great spots to visit in Linjiang, arranged a fabulous two-day tour to Shangri-la and, despite my total lack of Chinese, had the time and the patience to have a long chat with me over some wonderful pu'er tea. I felt like I was being looked after by family. I will definitely come back.

To sum it up in one sentence, at this price, except for the bathroom hygiene, everything else is perfect. Facilities: The furniture in the room is all wooden furniture with local characteristics and a sense of age. There are large cabinets that can also be used as tables, as well as sofas and coffee tables. I like all of these very much. They feel very heavy. There are both showers and bathtubs, and disposable bathtub covers are provided, which is very thoughtful. Hygiene: The only drawback is the floor and floor drain in the bathroom, which are a bit dirty (see the pictures). The rest of the place was clean and the room was cleaned daily. Environment: The ancient town is not big, and it is very convenient to go anywhere from the inn. There are also many restaurants around. The inn is located in the alley, quiet in the bustling city. You can hear singing before 11 o'clock in the evening, but it will not be very late and will not affect your sleep. The view from the room is superb, especially when the sun shines in in the afternoon. Service: When you check in, staff will help you pull your luggage into the inn on a tricycle.

The melt water from the Snow Mountain are flowing around the villas, and there are the luxuriant and well-spaced flowers and trees everywhere. We use the Naxi hanging fish element that symbolizes good luck. The room floor is made from old ship wood full of mottled historical sense.

One of the most special hotels we’ve experienced in our China trip. 小邰 Xiao Tai was super helpful throughout our stay from arranging airport pick up to nearby activities like Naxi family visits, complimentary photoshoots, campfire experience and mountain sunrise trips. He even delivered the afternoon tea set to our room since we arrived late from the airport! We really enjoyed our stay because of him. The room is super clean and has floor heating if it gets cold. The staff provides water, snacks and pot noodles free of charge every day. Breakfast was lovely especially the noodles and chicken hot pot! You can also ask for medicines in case you experience high altitude sickness for free.

I rarely write about my accommodation experience, but I have stayed in many B&Bs. During the Spring Festival, when there are so many people, it is understandable to expect some small accidents. Even without having any expectations, observing the mind can make us look at things in a new light. The owner is very young, but it was this young owner who left us a very good impression from beginning to end. We valued soft power more, and we had a lot of questions during our stay. The owner patiently replied to us, and in the end, he was so busy that he even arranged for someone to take us to the town entrance. The only regret is that the breakfast was not rich enough and some of the food was not kept warm enough. The last praise is for Da Mai and Nobita, two medium-sized Alaskan dogs. They actually played with our children who are always afraid of dogs. You can tell at a glance that their dogs are raised to be so smart by their loving owners.

GGuest UserThis is one of the best hotels I've stayed so far. We were initially planning to stay for only one night but we ended up staying for three days. We got a room upgrade and we got to keep the room until the last day. ;) The room itself exceeds my expectation. I have never seen a hotel with complete complimentary from snacks to sanitary napkin that get restocked everyday. The room also has an oil diffuser and Dyson hairdryer! Everything about the place looks expensive and picturesque. The lake and mountain view from my room and the entire hotel was to die for. Food is good and affordable though I wish they had more options for breakfast and lunch. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. They helped us book cars to our destinations and patiently answer all questions about nucleic acid test and everything. I will definitely come back!

The serene surroundings, along with top-notch amenities, made our stay both luxurious and peaceful. But what truly made this stay unforgettable were Lily and Star, they were the heart and soul of our experience! Lily felt like a long-lost sister and friend. She was so genuinely warm, kind and attentive- so sweet. Both Liky & Star went above and beyond, helping us with anything we needed. Whether it was assisting us late at night with a projector we couldn’t figure out, or arranging pickup and drop-off to a nearby ancient town, nothing was ever too much for them. It’s not just the big things, they constantly surprised us with thoughtful little gestures that showed just how much they care. Their kindness and the beautiful souls of the entire team left a lasting impression on us. The property is a dream - horses, sheep and breathtaking views all around. It's a place that feels like a home away from home, only more peaceful, scenic, and soul-nourishing. This was a great experience! Hotel owner was fabulously helpful with arranging top quality taxis at very reasonable prices for full day rentals to drive us around to Tiger leaping gorge, Shaxi & Bai Sha old towns etc. Full day rental prices compared with many other times in China we rented cars for the full day. Much appreciated with all the help, excellent service, amazing hotel. Really had a wonderful time here.

(Hu Ge has stayed at this hotel before) The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, surrounded by pine forests, and is the highest hotel in Lugu Lake. You can see the panoramic view of Lugu Lake. It will be completed in 2022, invested by a Wenzhou boss, and was rated as the most beautiful internet celebrity design hotel in Lijiang. The hotel has afternoon tea time from 2 to 4 pm; From 3 to 5 pm, there are intangible cultural heritage rubbings and Mosuo ancient butter tea experience activities; From 8 to 9 pm, there is a bonfire party; There are parent-child places such as the 3-story sky coffee bar, the cat house, the Dai Dai house, and the fire house in the backyard. The accommodation is in an excellent location. It is also home to one of the most beautiful-view cafés in Lijiang. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants and shopping spots, providing great convenience. Despite its central location, the rooms are quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. They respond to messages very quickly, and you can communicate any requests during your stay in Lijiang. They provide free pick-up and drop-off service at the high-speed railway station. Additionally, they assist with handling all your luggage from check-in to check-out, which is especially helpful since Lijiang’s stone-paved streets make rolling suitcases inconvenient. They also arrange airport transfers and a one-day tour to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, including a show, at a reasonable price. The vehicles used for transportation are of high quality. Especially Xiao Su and Xiao Yang, who provided us with professional service and excellent arrangements, making our vacation in Lijiang absolutely perfect. We received service beyond our expectations in every aspect. The internet connection was highly efficient, allowing my husband to work seamlessly while staying here. On the day we checked out, we had the opportunity to take a photo with Xiao Su. She and her team warmly saw us off to our car, making our departure just as memorable as our stay.

The hotel was very clean as it’s still newly opened in 2024, and quite well maintained. My parents were satisfied and happy for the stay! It’s not easy to get them to compliment a place Staff were all very friendly and professional. Very responsive on WeChat and provided quick response to any request and inquiries. They would welcome their guest with a hot cup of tea upon check in. Vast variety of breakfast selection and I quite enjoy their wantons for supper. Really need to give a thumbs up on their services, even laundry can be done within 3 hours and sent back to the room. The location isn’t at the city centre but hence give the place its tranquility, which is quite nice. Not too far from tourist destinations or the train station (around 15-30min drive by Didi). Will definitely recommend this place !!

JJonathanzzzOver all: The experience of passing the line does not match the housing price level I chose Yunnan for my long-awaited vacation. In Dali, I chose Jixiashanlanwang without hesitation. In Lijiang, I repeatedly considered among Wuyulan, Puxiu and Aman, and finally chose Dayan Aman, so I had high expectations for this trip. Two days before check-in, the hotel called to inquire about the arrival time and the pick-up time. After exchanging information, I added WeChat. I felt very disconnected during the WeChat communication, sometimes enthusiastic and sometimes indifferent, and this feeling lasted until the day of check-in. The front desk looked indifferent when checking in, and almost no smile. This was my first time staying in Aman, so I thought it was the so-called ”tonality”, but compared with the enthusiasm of Jixiashanlanwang two days ago, I already felt a gap in my heart. Arriving at the room was a series of ”unpleasant experiences”. The facilities and equipment in the entire room were not user-friendly for the customer experience: 1) There were no charging sockets near the desk or sofa. For customers who had just arrived at the hotel, they could only charge on the high cabinet. Because there was no socket on the desk for work, they asked the aunt for a power strip; 2) The room was so hot and dry that I woke up with a dry mouth at 3 a.m., and then woke up with a nosebleed after 6 a.m., which filled the sink; 3) The wooden door lock in the room was very unique, but it could not be opened or locked many times. My friend joked that it depended on ”luck” to get back to the room. In addition, there were some service details: 1) We went to the front desk to go to the garage. The staff told us to go down to B1 and turn right. After arriving at B1, the space was very dim, and the surrounding area looked like a backcourt passage. We thought we had gone the wrong way, and we found the garage a few steps forward. If the front desk had sufficient staff and knew that the route was complicated, it might be better to lead the customers together; 2) We booked dinner that day. The hot pot was charcoal-fired, and the restaurant environment was closed and the air was not circulated. In addition, due to the altitude, I had a headache after the meal. Of course, I understand that the doors and windows are closed for privacy, but whether fresh air may be more important; 3) The words on the luggage tag given at check-out were crooked. When I tried to adjust it, I found that it was a very thin piece of paper, so I didn't adjust it. The overall look was not exquisite enough. In addition, I saw other reviews that the delivery station was a Mercedes-Benz business car, but we seemed to be in an outsourced car that day. I don't want to go into the specific reasons. 4) Because it was the birthday of my roommate a few days after I checked in, I took the initiative to ask if we could do some set up, such as greeting cards, because I thought greeting cards were more meaningful. When I returned to the room at night, I only saw the cake sent by the hotel and the night bed was already arranged, but the greeting card that I emphasized did not appear. I asked the front desk if it could be prepared. The front desk said yes but did not say when it would be given. We waited in the room for nearly an hour. When I asked again, I was told that it would be given the next day. Even so, the cake was delicious and the greeting card was full of sincerity. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, but you can be more proactive. Another thing worth praising is that the service in the dinner restaurant is very good. The service of the breakfast restaurant is warm and decent. Because I asked for something that chia seeds were not available, he also explained the reason, and I felt valued. At the same time, I am also very grateful to the hotel's GM Ms. Wu for her special care and inquiry. You left a deep impression on us with your decent and generous manner. DDominic MaximilianWe had a lovely stay at Jinmao Purelax Lijiang, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. We were there during early June. The view from the room was amazing. It was wonderful to wake up to the Yu Long Snow Mountain every morning with a cool breeze. Breakfast was a good spread of traditional Chinese fare and international staples. We look forward to having good breakfasts every morning. The staff even packed for us breakfast when we departed earlier than the breakfast time for our day tour of Yu Long Snow Mountain. While overall, it was a good experience, there were some quirks, that we felt were slightly below our expectations befitting a Hyatt branded hotel. There wasn’t a proper mini fridge. We had to request for one. And it was not functioning properly - we eventually had to ask the staff to keep our medical items with their staff who delivered to our doorstep upon request, promptly. The air-conditioning was also controlled centrally and we could not adjust the temperature despite having a controller in our room. We were advised by the staff to keep the netted balcony doors open to let the fresh air in. But it was not possible when we sleep due to the bright light and the room was warm. The other freebies made up for the overall experience at Jinmao. We had a wonderful complimentary photoshoot at Bo Jue Travel Photography studio which was conveniently located within the hotel’s premises. The staff there were friendly, professional and made the photo shoot fun and enjoyable. We upgraded the package as the photographers and DI artists made fantastic work in double quick time. We also had a complimentary Pu’ Er Tea tasting session where we were greeted by a warm and attentive lady, Ah Qing. She was a great conversationalist and we enjoyed her company. We also checked out other features like the petting zoo, indoor swimming pool and the sauna. There are also many family friendly activities to participate in - there are plenty of opportunities to play within the premises! Jinmao Purelax Lijiang may not be the shiniest and newest hotel but this grand dame is a wonderful place for folks of all ages to play, relax and soak in the sights of what Lijiang has to offer.
