I believe my friends and I spent Christmas eve here. Being an exchange student from England, far from home, and my friends and classmates from Latvia and Cambodia, we needed somewhere homely and comfortable to stay. This place was exactly what we needed. We stayed here for one night in the middle of winter as part of our road trip from Beijing to Wutaishan, following the sections of the Great Wall. We turned up after dark, we were welcomed with a big smile and slept with ease after the long drive. In the morning I woke up early, found a spot in the courtyard garden and opened my Christmass cards. The owners dog immediately rolled over to be petted and for the next hour I had good company, drank tea and enjoyed the peace. The owners awoke to find me outside, probably thought I was a ****** and so, immediately lit their fire in the garden. They saw me drinking tea so got the iron kettle boiling over the heat of the flames. My mates awoke to this and joined me and the boss by the fire. The outside temperature was negative, but we were warm, happy and ready for the day ahead - exploring Baishishan. The boss also showed us his great tea collection. I want to thank the owners for a short but great stay and I highly recommend. I would like to come back in spring to see their courtyard in full bloom.

The room was clean and tidy, and most importantly, safety was a top priority with no sharp corners, so I didn't have to worry about bumps or scrapes. The bathroom was equipped with a step stool for the sink and a child's toilet seat – truly the ultimate for traveling with kids! The hotel's public areas were also clean and tidy, especially the swimming pool area on the 4th floor, which featured a constant-temperature children's pool with excellent water quality and no pungent chemical filter smell. We felt very safe and played for a long time. The restaurant was also very convenient, with a wide variety of breakfast options that tasted great. Furthermore, the hotel staff were attentive and thoughtful, proactively asking about our needs and being patient and meticulous. The service was very satisfying. One minor point: you might want to bring light clothing indoors as the room temperature was a bit high, and the windows seemed to be sealed. It would have been perfect if there was ventilation.
