Staying at Shangri-La Shanghai was exactly what a city escape should feel like: luxurious without being fussy, courteous without feeling formal.

We were on the 25th floor, and the view of the river was the best part of the day — morning light on the Huangpu, the skyline stretching out, and at night the Pearl Tower glowing just down the road. It’s quiet up there, real tranquility despite being so close to all the tourist attractions.

The comfort carried through everywhere: the indoor pool and jacuzzi were perfect for unwinding, the gym had everything we needed, and the grand lobby is lined with high-end stores if you feel like browsing. 

But the thing we’ll remember most is the afternoons — tea time in the lobby with a live folk music performance drifting through the space. It turns the whole lobby into something calm and beautiful.

Courteous staff, comfortable rooms, and a location that puts you right in the heart of Shanghai. We’ll be back.

Jingan Shangri-la is amazing and a must stay in Shanghai. We've experienced excellent service from every hotel staff member we came across with. There was a night when we were majorly disturbed by another room and hotel Manager Parry called us the next day to offer us a complimentary change and upgrade of room for our last night. This was truly good follow-up from the night before and its highly commendable. Rooms itself had gorgeous views and were very clean. High tea and happy hour at the Horizon Lounge far exceeded our expectations with huge options and extremely delicious canapes, small dishes and drinks. The breakfast spread was also really loved by our kids as there was an ice cream bar with lots of ice cream options. We will be back, thank you!

Direct access to the Qiantan Taikoo Li via an elevated walkway means you don't have to go outside in the rain for shopping, movies, or dining – a exclusive convenience for hotel guests. It's a 3-minute walk to Dongfang Sports Center Station (Lines 6/8/11), offering a direct half-hour ride to Lujiazui, The Bund, and the Expo Park. For those driving, there's ample free parking. With a dense concentration of commercial centers, concert venues, and office buildings nearby, it's a top choice for business trips, concerts, and weekend city walks.

The hotel boasts a 20-meter heated infinity pool with a starry sky ceiling, where you can swim and enjoy river views, along with a massage hot tub. There's also a 24-hour large gym equipped with a full set of Technogym machines.

The concierge, housekeeping, and front desk are all very responsive, and check-in/check-out is efficient. They are accommodating with luggage delivery and late check-out requests, maintaining Shangri-La's gentle and meticulous brand ethos.

Ms. Sarah at check-in was very professional and provided service with a constant smile.

The minibar offers poor value for money: almost all drinks and snacks are charged, and the number of complimentary beverages is quite limited, putting it at a disadvantage compared to other five-star hotels in the same price range.

The gym is a large open space with no partitions, lacking privacy. During peak hours, you often have to wait for equipment.

Food delivery cannot be brought to the room; guests need to go down to the lobby to pick it up, which is inconvenient for those who prefer not to leave their room.

The welcome fruit and amenities for basic room types are fairly standard, with no additional gifts for lower-tier members.

During holidays, the lobby and breakfast area get very crowded, and window seats with views require waiting.

Staying at the Shangri-La Hotel, Hongqiao Airport, truly redefined my perception of an airport hotel. It's not just a convenient stopover for catching a flight, but a refined haven worth experiencing in its own right.

The hotel excels in convenience: From Hongqiao Terminal 2 Arrivals, you can follow the signs and walk directly to the lobby through an air-conditioned corridor, without ever needing to go outside. This is especially convenient for travelers with heavy luggage.

The environment was the most pleasant surprise. I was initially worried about airplane noise, but the room's soundproofing was beyond impressive. Watching planes take off and land from the tarmac outside my window, I felt a sense of tranquility, completely isolated from any hustle and bustle. As a fully Horizon Club-equipped hotel, I enjoyed coffee and a light meal in the lounge in the afternoon, watching the flight information screen – it was both reassuring and relaxing.

The room design incorporates elegant Old Shanghai elements, with meticulous attention to detail. The toiletries and bedding maintain Shangri-La's consistently high standards. Breakfast deserves special praise; in addition to the standard buffet, there are à la carte options like Eggs Benedict, meat patties, soy milk, and fried dough sticks. The waitstaff thoughtfully reminded us of the dining times. From check-in to check-out, every staff member was genuinely smiling and promptly responsive. A special shout-out to Charlene, who was warm, attentive, and always happy to help!

In summary, whether for business or a romantic getaway, this hotel delivers a delightful experience that exceeds expectations. The next time I fly through Hongqiao, I'll definitely choose to stay here again.

Once a top-tier hotel in Beijing, it may no longer boast its former glory, but it still stands out as a high-end establishment. I stayed here years ago, but my memory is a bit hazy. This time, there weren't many guests, and the front desk thoughtfully put me on the top floor. The room's amenities are high-end, bordering on luxurious, a stark contrast to any budget hotel. The buffet was just average, though the price wasn't exorbitant. The Chinese restaurant, however, is top-notch – quite pricey, but the dishes are incredibly refined. You can access the Guomao underground mall directly from the hotel lobby, which is very convenient for shopping.

When I'm traveling, if I'm ever unsure, I always go for a Shangri-La executive room, and it never disappoints. Shangri-La truly lives up to its name; the facilities are impeccably maintained, and the attention to detail is something you have to see for yourself. We checked in directly at the lounge, where Front Desk staffer Yuan Xiaofan was incredibly welcoming and arranged for an extra bed since we had our child with us. Executive Lounge Manager Ms. Li Rongbo even thoughtfully upgraded our room type for the whole family.

Overall, it met expectations. I had two separate bookings, one for a 'CCTV view' room and one for a regular view. The front desk lady kindly allowed me to stay in the CCTV view room for all three nights so I wouldn't have to switch rooms in between – much appreciated! 🙏

The room's cleanliness was good, and the bathtub was huge, though I didn't have time to enjoy it. There were just two minor downsides: first, the room didn't have any wine glasses (I suppose the hotel would say I could just call room service), and second, the breakfast selection seemed a bit limited. The à la carte options (I tried the congee, udon, and egg & ham sandwich over my three-night stay) were small portions and quite mediocre in taste.

However, the hotel allowing all guests to use the 80th-floor lounge from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM was a really nice touch.

Staying within Beijing for the Dragon Boat Festival with kids? I highly recommend this hotel; my stay far exceeded expectations! The hotel facilities are brand new and well-maintained. The pool, in particular, deserves praise – the water is crystal clear, not crowded, and the environment is spotless, making it perfect for relaxation. We swam twice during our stay, and my child loved it. The guest room experience was excellent, with superb soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful and restful sleep. Downstairs, there's a non-motorized children's playground that my child played on every time we passed by.

The front desk service was an added bonus; the staff were warm and attentive. Check-in was efficient, and they meticulously helped with any requests, providing a truly full-service experience. The location is another highlight: the backyard is just across the road from the Yongding River Market, which has many unique shops. You can easily go out for shopping, dining, and entertainment, making travel incredibly convenient. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay with great service – a top choice for a vacation, definitely worth a second visit!

The staff were friendly and helpful, check in was a breeze. Lovely atmosphere in the lobby, room was huge and spotless clean with an amazing view. The 360 bar is well worth a visit, it's got a spectacular view and they make great cocktails. Lovely pool and gym too, it's an amazing retreat in Louhu and it's so close to the border, which makes it such a worthwhile place to visit. Also, there were 5 different types of teabags to choose from in the room, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast buffet really surprised me with bacon, sausages and egges, which was amazing, but there's also Chinese food and vegetarian so it's a great buffet. Definitely want to go back!

Every time I visit Shenzhen, I love staying here. It's close to Futian High-Speed Rail Station, and there are plenty of dining options around the hotel. Getting a taxi from the entrance to other attractions is also very convenient. The hotel staff's service attitude is excellent 👍. This time, I also tried a latte brewed by the robot barista, which was amazing! 👍

This hotel completely changed my perception of Shangri-La. The golf course, lake, and city views are fantastic. Even though there's construction nearby, it's not noisy, and the exterior glass is spotless. It's very new, with excellent attention to detail in the decor. I've stayed in many hotels in Shenzhen and this one is even better than the Ritz and Marriott there! All the sharp corners in the room have been rounded off for safety and aesthetics. The renovation materials are high-quality and thoughtfully chosen; despite being open for two years, all the facilities still feel brand new. The only minor issue was that the smart speaker (Xiao Du) in the room seemed a bit slow to respond. The service was very attentive and proactive, always willing to help, and the Summer Palace restaurant was delicious! Getting a taxi from this location is incredibly easy, with no waiting required.
