Qingdao Beach Hotels

The hotel has a fantastic location, very close to the subway station, and it will be even closer once the new station exit is completed. Turn left out of the hotel and you can walk to May Fourth Square in about 10 minutes, and to the MixC mall in just over 10 minutes, making dining and shopping extremely convenient. If the weather is bad, you can even walk to the MixC underground via the subway passage. Housekeeping is top-notch; the room was very clean, and the bottled water and minibar setup were well-equipped. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and provided great service. The family room we stayed in was the furthest back among the side ocean-view rooms with only one window, but the ventilation was still decent. We also booked a king room, which had two windows and offered a fantastic view of the light show and the ocean. The only minor drawback of the family room was that the bathroom door faced the bed, which was slightly inconvenient.

I specifically chose a high-floor sea-view room for this trip, and it was wonderfully cool. Being able to see the ocean every day was fantastic! The room was clean, the environment was comfortable and cozy, and the staff were warm and attentive. The facilities were also safe and reliable! Highly recommend!

From October 2nd to 6th, after discussing with my family, we decided to stay at Crowne Plaza Qingdao. From the moment I checked in, Reya gave me a warm welcome and detailed introduction (it was my first time staying at a Crowne Plaza hotel). The stay included a complimentary executive lounge dinner, and the breakfast was extensive and very Chinese. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience at Crowne Plaza. I'd also like to thank the housekeepers for cleaning the room, and all the staff at Crowne Plaza for their efforts. Thank you!

This hotel brand reminds me of when the economy was booming. Back in 2017, I stayed at the Wanda Vista in Hefei for my wedding – it was a super five-star hotel then, though it's been sold and isn't called Vista anymore. This time, I brought my kid to Huangdao and tried the Wanda Vista there. The facilities, location, and decor are good, but to be honest, the hotel is definitely showing its age in the details. It's convenient for drivers, with easy parking and EV charging. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted nice. I'll come back again, next time I'll try the Vista's restaurant. This trip was a quick 'special forces' run, a two-day round trip from Xuzhou to Huangdao.

I must give a huge shout-out to this hotel, especially the front office team—the experience was absolute perfection! We arrived with quite a lot of luggage, and the moment we stepped into the lobby, the front desk staff noticed. Their tone was exceptionally warm and genuine, not sounding like rehearsed script at all. The check-in process was well-organized; they proactively informed us about breakfast times and hotel amenities, and even shared some handy local travel tips. It was all very thoughtful. Throughout our stay, whenever we had questions, the staff would attentively listen to the end before responding. Whenever we needed to coordinate with other departments, the front desk took care of liaising and following up, sparing us from running around or making calls back and forth, which saved us so much hassle. Even when the lobby was busy and crowded, the team remained calm and methodical without showing any impatience, maintaining a consistently wonderful attitude. Check-out was equally smooth and fast. They casually asked about our stay and genuinely wanted to hear our honest feedback. The service from housekeeping and other departments was also top-notch; every employee we passed in the hallways greeted us politely. As the very first point of contact upon entering, the front desk truly demonstrated that they have the guests' best interests at heart, anticipating needs before they even arise. The entire stay was carefree and deeply comfortable. Highly recommended, and I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in town!

The hotel boasts a grand architectural design and numerous rooms, reflecting the style of an established star-rated hotel. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable musty smell. However, the mattress was very thick and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. We ran out of tissues in the room, but the housekeeper promptly brought some when we requested them. There were no disposable bath liners for the bathtub, and they weren't available for purchase, which is an area where service could definitely be improved. Given its large scale, the hotel could consider offering childcare services similar to Club Med. A kids' play area with soft play structures, slides, and a ball pit would be a great addition, allowing parents to relax. There was no buffet available. With such a large property, inter-departmental communication seems to be an issue. The information provided by the housekeeper for the 1928 Beer Bar's dining options was incorrect. After checking out, the housekeeper asked for a good review. I provided some suggestions, but the housekeeper, 'Dabaitu' (Big White Rabbit), never replied. It feels like the service in northern China is often a 'do-it-because-my-boss-told-me-to' mentality, and any extra requests from guests are seen as an inconvenience. I really liked the breakfast buffet where many of the attendants were older, creating a very harmonious atmosphere, like being cared for by parents while away from home. The breakfast selection was extensive. There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Cat petting costs 19.9 for children and 29.9 for adults, with single entry and unlimited time. Feeding animals costs 10 yuan, which includes one portion of feed. **However, if you write a good review for 1 yuan, you get fewer carrots than the 10 yuan portion. The animals seemed a bit pathetic, with the little horse constantly kicking the wire fence.** There are two swimming pools, both indoor and outdoor. The buffet at the 1928 Beer Bar is more Western-style. Many people might not be used to it. We tried it, and the quality of the desserts was excellent! There's a beach right behind the hotel, with some rocks, but not too many. You can go tide pooling in the early morning and at night. It's too hot during the day due to strong sun, and there isn't much seafood to find then either. The package included access to the Haiquanwan Hot Springs, but I must mention: it was dirty. There were no tissues or disposable combs in the hair-drying area (only a few scattered combs for everyone to share). With this level of service, I won't be returning. The hotel's location is indeed a bit remote, making it suitable for self-driving. There's a Shandong University cafeteria and museum nearby, which I'd give five stars!

Overall, it was decent. The location is excellent, right next to the Annex building of MixC, making transportation very convenient. The subway entrance is about 200 meters away. The room was quite spacious, and for a budget hotel, it was pretty good. However, the bathroom had some frustrating issues. First, the smart toilet's flush pressure was incredibly strong; the water would splash out about 60 cm, hitting my legs. Second, the shower switch was the strangest I've ever seen. It was just an on/off switch with no way to adjust the water flow. And every time you turned the water on or off, you had to re-adjust the temperature, so it was easy to get scalded or get cold. Also, the bathroom floor wasn't sloped, so shower water easily overflowed out of the bathroom and onto the main floor.

This hotel was pretty good overall. We stayed in four rooms for four days, and while there were a few minor hiccups, they didn't really detract from the experience. It was perfect for a family stay; the kids loved playing in the sand on the beach behind the hotel, swimming in the pool, and exploring the playground in the nearby mangrove forest. All in all, a five-star rating!

This place is incredibly friendly for long-term business travelers. The equipment is well-maintained, clean, and looks brand new. The mirrors in front of the treadmills face the street view outside, making a 30-minute run anything but boring. The nearby lounge area even provides complimentary drinking water and tissues for wiping sweat. After finishing work, coming here for a workout can really alleviate most of the fatigue from sitting all day.
