XXinzhiyouniThe young lady at the front desk provided excellent service. We travel with two young children and often need many extra items. She was incredibly patient and always helped us bring them up to our room. For laundry, if you prefer not to wait, you can just leave a note, and a staff member will wash and dry your clothes for you – a fantastic service! Breakfast was good, and they even offered congee in the evenings, which was a nice touch. We happened to be there during a concert, but unfortunately couldn't get last-minute tickets. The hotel was extremely crowded.

You have to swipe your elevator card to get to your floor, but the room smelled like renovations, and the windows were left open the entire time we stayed, so the smell persisted. The restaurant was adequate, but the air conditioning wasn't very effective, and I kept sweating while eating. The laundry room on the first floor was very helpful. Cleanliness: The room was clean, and housekeeping was always available. Breakfast cleanliness could be improved, for example, there were foreign objects in the food. Environment: There's a commercial area downstairs, making it convenient for dining. The subway is a 10-minute walk away. Service: Room service was good. Restaurant service was acceptable, and any issues were addressed promptly. The front desk staff were friendly during check-in, but were unprofessional and formal during check-out. I always stay at Hilton hotels and trust their professionalism, but this time, my experience was less than positive.

Positives: • Comfortable Bedding: The mattress, pillows, and blankets were very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest. • Convenient Location: The hotel is within walking distance of the sea and the train station, making it easy to explore the area. • Helpful Staff: The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. • Breakfast Options: A good mix of Chinese and Western cuisine was available. Negatives: • Air Conditioning Issues: The air conditioning only provides heating, with no option for cold air. Even when set to a cooler temperature, the system remains in auto mode with a fixed degree, making the room uncomfortably warm. We had to rely on the stand fan provided to avoid sweating while sleeping. • Bathroom Odors: The ventilation system seems to circulate second-hand smoke, likely from other guests smoking in their bathrooms. At times, the air carried either cigarette smoke or urine odors, which were very unpleasant. Keeping the door closed helped slightly, but housekeeping would leave it open after cleaning, causing the room to smell bad upon returning. Overall, I would consider staying with this hotel brand again, but not at this particular branch due to the air conditioning and bathroom ventilation issues. The service from the front desk was good, but these factors significantly impacted my stay.

8852 Serendipitous LifeOverall the hotel staff and service are 4 star. What makes the hotel 5 Star are the rooms and facilities. It is clean, safe, and well maintained. To be fair, I did arrive in early April during the off-season but I was not impressed with the service provided. Staff was consistently difficult to find, or would be crowded all in the lobby. Check-In and Check out was easy and the staff are very nice. International guests be aware, few to no staff speak English or communicate in any other language. The breakfast was not good. Cold and hard food, empty plates, drinks and foods not being refilled, and then having the lights turned off after breakfast was finished being served. Few selections, mainly cheap foods and breads. There are no staff outside, during my time there. No bell hops, no one to guide you to the front desk (Because it is not easy to find at first), no one to help with your luggage. A single staff member stands at the front of the lobby after you enter to greet you. Positives - The room was spacious and very clean. It had most things I needed and the quality of the room and bathroom was excellent. The balcony looked over the courtyard and the ocean which people can see you if you go out but was a nice addition. The island the hotel is on has everything close by and most taxis/Didi’s will pick you up within five minute The area has been developing for many years and is getting better each year. The Qingdao Beer Festival ground are close by (about 30 minutes drive) during the summer, but most activities are in the city about one hour drive away for the rest of the year. For this hotel, the room and facilities are the focus as they are well taken care of and maintained. I am not sure if I would return.

Our room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a delightful surprise, featuring a wide array of both Chinese and Western dishes, with plenty of hot and cold options. Getting around was also super convenient; the subway station is very close, and the surrounding area is packed with shopping malls and food streets. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming, always greeting us enthusiastically. They even offer a complimentary late-night congee service, and the warm congee was incredibly comforting after a long day. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserDefinitely not a 5 star hotel they claim to be on Trip.com. The first room we were checked-in had a broken window that couldn’t be opened and the reception didn’t know about it, although the window was closed with a tape and they should have known that this room had a problem. There were not many guests in the hotel and plenty of rooms to be offered. In the next room we found out that the show was out of hot water. The problem was with the central supply system and instead of repairing it themselves, the hotel engineer was coming to our room claiming that we should discharge water for 5-10 minutes before hot water starts coming out. This kept going for almost an hour, we were tired and wanted to sleep because it was late evening. The problem didn’t require our assistance because the problem was with the whole hot water supply system, not with our exact room. Also, they brought us a small heater to the room which I was surprised about, but then I understood that it was because the air-conditioner which had a heater mode, didn’t work well. I doubt that the hotel would have enough heaters for all rooms in case they had more guests. Without the heater it was quite cold in the room. Next morning the house keeper came at 9-30 am!!!Which is insane. We were sleeping. I’ve never encountered a hotel at which the house keeper came that early and disturbed the guests. Finally when leaving the hotel, we wanted to take those one-time use sleepers with us to use during the flight and found out to our surprise, that for 4 days we were living in the hotel sleepers were not changed even once. I called the reception, it was early morning (like 6-30 am) and they told me that the house keeper will bring us the sleepers when she comes to work. I told that we were leaving already and the reception promised to bring the sleepers asap. 10 minutes later nobody came and we went to check-out. At the check-out I asked for the sleepers again and told the receptionist that the taxi has almost arrived, so that she could bring us the sleepers first and then proceed with the check-out. She didn’t listen to me, still first processed the check-out and only after it went for the sleepers. So it basically took me half an hour and my nerves to get the sleepers that were supposed to be in my room from the very beginning. The general manager talked to us after the case with the hot water and the house keeper coming early in the morning. He was very polite, but this doesn’t eliminate the fact that basic services in this hotel leave much to be desired. On the plus side, very comfortable beds and clean spacious room.

I initially requested a room change for a better view, and despite waiting for over an hour, I did not receive any proper response or resolution. When I first arrived at my room, I found that one side of the view was almost entirely blocked by the neighboring building, which was not what I expected. I called the front desk to request a room change, but after 20 minutes with no response, I called again. I was told the team was checking on it. After waiting another 10 minutes without any follow-up, I called once more. The staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English and repeated that they were still checking. Eventually, I was told that a room on the 16th floor might be available, and someone would come to show it to me. However, no one came. I waited again, then called once more about 10 minutes later, only to be told that the front desk was still confirming and that the new room would not be ready for another 30 minutes. At this point, I had already wasted nearly an hour of my time in Qingdao without any clarity on whether I could even change rooms. As a guest who chose your esteemed hotel for its reputation for excellent service, this experience has been highly disappointing. The lack of communication and inefficient handling of a simple request does not meet the standard expected from the Westin brand. I kindly request a formal explanation of this situation and an appropriate form of compensation for the inconvenience I experienced. Our little one was keen to see the May Fourth Square night view and enjoy the sea breeze. As for us, we've always trusted IHG's Crowne Plaza brand, and the Qingdao Yizhong Crowne Plaza, a well-established local five-star hotel, has an excellent reputation and came highly recommended by friends. We booked it without a second thought. The hotel boasts an excellent location – it's just a ten-minute walk to the Olympic Sailing Center, an ideal spot to admire the May Fourth Square night view. What's even better for families is that the walk to the Olympic Sailing Center takes you past large supermarkets, a variety of restaurants, shopping centers, and a lively beer night market. All your dining, entertainment, and shopping needs are covered, making travel with kids completely stress-free. That evening, we enjoyed a boat tour, admiring the light show up close while our child enthusiastically ran around. Back at the hotel, we were treated to Qingdao's dazzling night views from different angles in our high-floor room, offering a breathtaking panorama that seamlessly blended sea, land, and sky. As an established property, the hotel's decor and facilities, while showing some age, are very well-maintained, clean, tidy, and fully functional. When compared to similar hotels in the area, its location, service, and price offer an excellent match, providing truly reasonable value for money. A particular highlight is the indoor swimming pool on B2. It's exceptionally clean, with a perfect water temperature. The shallow area is ideal for children learning to swim, providing both safety and peace of mind. Our child absolutely had a blast there. The hotel's service is professional and attentive, truly reflecting its five-star standard. Breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and excellent quality. Getting around is also incredibly convenient; to visit Mount Laoshan or the old town, simply go downstairs and cross the street to find a subway station, which is much more hassle-free than taking a taxi. A special thank you goes to Manager Chen from the Sales Department, who meticulously arranged our room and provided detailed explanations. The room's stunning view ultimately delighted our entire family, making our stay incredibly comfortable and pleasant, and fulfilling our child's wish. We have a small suggestion regarding the room: it would be more convenient if the suite had 1-2 extra boxes of tissues, and perhaps the tissue quality could be slightly improved. In summary, our stay was absolutely perfect and truly enhanced our Qingdao vacation. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit!
