Glacier Hotel Khon Kaen

So far Thailand's transit system has been great, efficient, and cheap. A train fare from Khon Kaen to Udon Thani was only 25 bahts, which is less than one USD, versus the alternative taxi ride that will set you back 37 USD for an approximate two hour ride. The train was clean and modern looking, have bench style cushion seats, windows that can be open so fresh breeze circulate the car preventing passengers from overheating. The rail cars have restrooms so don't worry about emergency urges. If you forgot to bring along a bottle of water or beverages, there will be someone constantly walking by in the center aisle selling drinks and snacks at a cheap price. Since this train ride was my first one, I'm content with the experience and recommend others to try it out for themselves while traversing through Thailand. Have a wonderful travels... Fellow travellers!
Wishing Tree Resort

The vegetables harvested from the organic farm in the resort are very fresh and delicious. The staff is also very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The roads around the resort were bumpy, but I wanted to relax and stay in the hotel again.
Major Grand Hotel

Very underwhelming hotel. The curtains were ripped, the toilet seat broken and cold water from the shower. My friends room was marginally better, but mine was awful. Very tired and probably worth paying 300 baht a night, not 1000 The hotel also has no breakfast available and no Thai or foreign food available, which is very odd for a hotel of this size. We had to order grab food to the pool, which is absolutely the only good thing about this hotel. The pool and gym, alongside the friendliness of the staff, are the only good things about this place, otherwise best avoided. My opinion is that this hotel will probably be knocked down in a year or so.

The Cheewin Hotel and Convention

Comfortable rooms, with soft beds and fairly large. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A good location for the two farang bars on walking street too. The pool was large and nice, but a bit murky, due to rain I think. The only downside to this hotel was the awful breakfast. American breakfast consists of, one processed sausage, one egg and two slices of old tomato. Rather underwhelming. Other than that I would return 🙂
Kosa Hotel & Wellness Center

The breakfast is good and the rooms are clean. It's convenient to call a taxi or walk down the street to find dining options. Although the hotel shows signs of age and is somewhat run-down, it remains acceptable overall.
Charoen Thani Hotel, Khon Kaen

Rooms are large, albeit very dated. No power points next to bed, unless you dangerously start unplugging things. The morning buffet was adequate. Staff friendly. Pool was awful and a green colour. The gym or lack of it was very old, tired and hardly any equipment. Good location and friendly staff was the best bits.
Mantra Varee Hotel

The location of the hotel is good. Room are quiet but you can still hear the neighboor, in particular if there is a kid but that would happens on any hotel. Breakfast not worth it.
Nadee 10 Resort & Hotel

The hotel is very cost-effective. We stayed a little more expensive during holidays, but 200 yuan is enough on weekdays. The room is very new, with a beautiful small balcony. The sound insulation can be 7 points, not too noisy. There are few breakfast options, but they are basically satisfactory. The front desk service attitude is good. The hardware has bugs, that is, the bathing area in the bathroom has only a bathtub, and there is no shower curtain, so water splashes everywhere. The quality of the shower is not very good, and it leaks on the side. In addition, it is more suitable for friends who drive by themselves. The location is not a particularly core area, but in the alley. The swimming pool is not bad and very clean. In general, the weekday price of 200 yuan is a great value.
