We were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel, which is new, has a very central location, is very clean, and has a very-well equipped gym. These features were greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we encountered a few issues that affected our experience. Despite booking for three guests, our room was only prepared for two, and even after requesting additional amenities, they were not fully provided. The in-room phone was also not working, making it difficult to communicate with the front desk.
Housekeeping seemed inconsistent—our room was not thoroughly cleaned after the first night, with some items left out of place and the trash not emptied.
Additionally, when ordering a breakfast box for an early checkout, we were surprised by the lack of flexibility in food choices, as we could only remove items rather than substitute them. A bit more understanding from the staff in handling such requests would have been appreciated.
Lastly, we noticed that some of the buffet food tasted stale, and one of our family members felt unwell afterward. We’re not sure if this was an isolated incident, but it was a bit concerning.
Not bad, InterContinental, the price is OK! The room is in a good location, the breakfast is also very good, it is very close to the beach, and it is very convenient for eating, shopping and shopping!
thumbs up:
1/ location - right on the viaduct harbour
2/ room is spacious & with practical layout and furnishing
3/ nice to see beau the labrador, the ambassador of the hotel
4/ concierge staff mr kim was professional for addressing us
thumbs down:
1/ check in - checked in at about 3pm and waited for more than 40 minutes to have the room ready ... luggage wasn't even sent to the room and needed to wait for another 20 minutes
2/ housekeeping - an area needed big improvement ... it' was not up to park hyatt's standard ... missing replacing tea cups, wine glasses, body lotion, soap, slippers, water, and etc ... the floor was with dust after staying 9 nights ... soap dishes weren't cleaned everyday
3/ breakfast - so apparently short of staff and training ... there were times proper cutlery wasn't prepared when seated and needed to ask for it .. missing orders like cup of coffee and water
4/ guest services - please don't expect calls to be picked up timely
This is the best hotel in Auckland. You can take a bus from the airport to Skycity and walk to the hotel in five minutes (you can see the entrance next to the white church). As soon as you enter the hotel, you will feel the warm and comfortable service. The hotel is not big, but very exquisite. There is a coffee machine and bread, fruit, cola and soft drinks in the lobby for free. Yogurt, croissant coffee and milk are provided free of charge in the morning. The bread is delicious! Because I am an InterContinental Platinum member, the check-out is delayed to 4 pm, which is just enough for me to go back to the room to rest after a day of shopping and go to the airport. The room is facing the Sky Tower and the harbor. There are ten rooms on one floor. It is super close to Queen Street, the casino, and the Sky Tower. There are several green supermarkets around. So, next time I go to Auckland, I must choose this hotel.
The hotel facilities are very modern. The room is a bit small but has a sense of design. The staff is warm and friendly. Special thanks to the staff for picking up our mobile phone in the hotel lobby and helping us put it back in the room. In addition, the food in the hotel restaurant called kingi is also delicious.
The location is very convenient, within walking distance of Queen Street, the port and the shopping mall. Shopping, dining and convenience stores are all very close. There is valet parking service. It is very suitable as a transit when arriving in Auckland on the first day.
I am travelling with family with kids and elderly. The grand is probably the best central location that you can find in Auckland if you are taking public transport. The pickup and dropoff for Skybus to Auckland airport is a 5 min walk away. The surrounding has plenty of restaurants including japanese & Chinese food. Facilities wise it has a gym and a heated swimming pool which the kids enjoy. Room is clean & spacious. Hotel price wise is on a high but weighing all the plus points, I will book it again for all the reasons above.
The location is really convenient, the hardware facilities are passable in New Zealand, but the service is really indescribable ... the coffee machine has a problem. From the morning to the evening, 4 or 5 phones are not counted, and the people who clean the hotel and the front desk repeatedly. Communicate. Every time the answer is given, send someone immediately. Finally at ten thirty in the evening finally came to check. The other room was not cleaned, it is estimated to be off work and very speechless
Had an amazing night with my husband. Loved exploring all the restaurants on k road. We also got upgraded to the pinicle tower which I highly recommend staying in. Due to school holidays the pool and spa was packed. But was still a nice experience.
Wow wow wow. We were amazed at our time here. We were not expecting such quality from an airport hotel. The room was lovely and modern with a great view. The most spectacular part was the hotel restaurant 10/10. The food was glorious. We had just come in from 18hours of travel. Dinner was out of this world. If you stay here the restaurant is well worth the added expense.

TTXpatMy husband and I stayed one night prior to flying home. It is a great location to food and sites. It was difficult to get to due to being downtown and not easy to turn around. Also parking/valet entrance isn’t clearly marked so it caused a lot of undue stress upon arrival. It would be nice if this information could be sent upon booking.
MMongabeeThe hotel staff is very diligent. When I drove to the hotel, the waiter helped me pick up my luggage and arranged a parking space. The front desk staff was polite and the check-in efficiency was very high. I have stayed in Marriott Hotels many times and I still feel at home. The staff are happy to answer questions. The hotel is very new and clean. The bathroom is big enough. The toilet and bathroom are separated, and the design is very convenient. It was my daughter's birthday, and the hotel prepared a birthday cake and a greeting card. My daughter was very surprised. We checked out early and the staff had prepared parking and arranged breakfast for us. They were all smiling. I must stay in this hotel every time I travel.
BBoshiwuThe receptionists Camila, Chloe and Henry were very warm, friendly and helpful. The Executive Lounge was well presented and provided adequate drinks and snacks. The bedroom was spacious and the breakfast had various options. The chef who took the orders was friendly and efficient. The swimming pool was well maintained, however the bathrooms in the change room appeared to be not adequately maintained and cleaned.

CChanel Mun LumLocation was central but also right above very loud clubs/bars, which meant that it was extremely loud at night (past midnight). We stayed on the 6th floor which felt like the hallway was not part of the building with two mechanical/service doors open. Room and service was fine.
