Nestled within the mesmerizing blue city of Chefchaouen, Morocco, lies a hidden oasis of tranquility and beauty - the Hotel Molino Garden. During a three-night visit in July, my wife and I were captivated not only by the enchanting charm of Chefchaouen but also by the unique allure of our chosen accommodation. Chefchaouen, with its picturesque blue-painted buildings, is a haven for travelers seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. This quaint city is surrounded by natural wonders, and its rich history is exemplified by attractions like the old mosque, Sabanin, and the neighboring school named after the 18th-century Muslim theologian Soulayman El Hawat. The neighborhood's watermills, notably the hotel's previous incarnation as a watermill, serve as a testament to the city's ancient past. Our chosen abode, Hotel Molino Garden, proved to be a rare gem at the heart of Chefchaouen. Situated on the outskirts of the old city, the hotel's calm ambiance was an oasis within an oasis. The magical garden, a collaborative effort with the neighboring primary school, transported us to a world of serenity. Designed with impeccable taste, the garden featured bamboo trees, goldfish ponds, and an ingenious layout that cocooned us from the city's clamor, while seamlessly connecting us to the majestic mountain backdrop. The hotel's rooms were an embodiment of comfort and history. Our first night was spent in the Garden Room, a cozy apartment with two bedrooms and a living room, all overlooking the captivating garden. Despite the summer heat, the room remained naturally cool, eschewing the need for air conditioning. The second night introduced us to a separate apartment adjacent to the hotel - a meticulously restored old house exuding aesthetics and charm. Once again, the absence of air conditioning was hardly a concern, as the natural ventilation kept us comfortable. Our final night at Hotel Molino Garden saw us in a cozy room on the upper floor, providing a glimpse of the lively alley leading to the hotel entrance. Each accommodation told a unique tale, seamlessly blending modern amenities with the city's rich heritage. No visit to Chefchaouen would be complete without indulging in its culinary delights. With guidance from locals, we embarked on a gastronomic journey. Restaurant Bab Ssour stole our hearts with its delectable local offerings and incredible flavors. The restaurant's two branches, both boasting stunning terraces and panoramic views, were equally enchanting. Another culinary highlight was Restaurant Triana, where a delightful breakfast and a riverside terrace provided an unforgettable dining experience. Although the food was mostly exceptional, a minor hiccup was encountered with the Tira Asada, where the beef's dryness detracted from an otherwise delightful meal. For quick bites and refreshing juices, the main square led us to MIDO's. Their impeccable falafel and warm hospitality made it a go-to spot for rejuvenating snacks.

Positive - rooftop terrace is high with a great view 2nd rooftop terrace with also a nice view - Large clean rooms - perfect AC - one of the better breakfasts we had (ask for peanut buttern, it's really good!) - clean - ok location, but parking is not easy Negative Very few, and more minor annoyances, but wanna suggest improvements - small bathroom sink area - no hooks to hang things - no tables to put suitcase on - not enough chairs on the 2nd balcony All in all a very enjoyable place -

To begin with the staff are really nice, and the location is superb! Just opposite the Kasbah a few meters up a lane, which means a lot in a town so steep and confusing that every meter counts. It also has a nice rooftop with panoramic views. But it could use an upgrade and a lot of cleaning. The aircon was out of order and the window too small to make a difference. There was no hot water, and the water in Chaoen is freezing cold! When we told the guy he suggested we use the common shower. You can get better places to stay for this price, but if a bed with clean sheets and towels is all you’re after, Barcelona is not a bad choice.

This was a difficult stay at this hotel. The hotel did not appear to be set up for the season and was severely impacted by Ramadan. The bedroom was basic, but clean and comfortable. TV didn't work but it didn't matter. It was noisy, not from the hotel but from the street outside as people seemed to go on the street after dusk till around 02.45am. Dinner supplied was fine, although they only had 1 bottle of wine in the whole hotel and approximately 4 bottles of beer. There were 20 in our party and other guests staying. There were only about 4 small bottles of soft drink to purchase. The bar did not open until the second night. Breakfast was poor on day 1 and worse on Day 2. There was 1 waiter who worked very slowly. 1 pot of coffee for 20 people which of course ran out quickly, not enough cups and not enough breakfast. Day 2 there was also another group in and so when we arrived at 08.00, there was no breakfast left, no coffee, no hot water and not even any cereal. We bought breakfast at the train station later that day. Whilst we could make allowances for the fact that Ramadan was taking place, this does not excuse the breakfast issue, which was unacceptable.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We stayed three nights. Everybody at the Maison was polite, helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The rooms are big and very clean, breakfast is excellent, served upstairs on the terrace. The Maison is quite near the Medina, a 10 minute walk. Just perfect for us. There is no lift, but they have a spacious room down stairs. I lost a very small earing during the night and could not find it. I didn't say anything at the reception because it was so small, and with two parts to it, I really didn't think they would be able to find it. When I returned in the evening, I was surprised to see that the lady that had cleaned the room had found the earing, put it together and had left it nicely on a side in the room. So grateful! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Our first stop in Morocco and it was roof perfect- great location in the Medina, clean, great breakfast at the terrace as described and even provide cold filtered water! Our driver did not drop us off at the right location but Emmad sent someone to help us with our luggage up the stairs. Be sure to contact the riad for directions to avoid climbing the stairs! Communication was easy. Emmad also helped and recommended great drivers and guide for our next leg to Fez and Merzouga- it was extremely helpful especially as we did not have a lot of time and one of us is pregnant. Highly recommended!

A hotel that I have already visited in 2019, what surprised me is that the prices are always the same, reasonable, a person for 160 to 200 dhs despite everything having been renovated, it's a jackpot. , bedrooms, plasma televisions. The receptionists are very welcoming. if you are looking for a jackpot hotel in Tangier, Astoria is the right place.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the location is excellent, the travel is convenient, the service is thoughtful, the facilities are complete, you can cook by yourself, the supermarket, the shopping mall is convenient. Will choose to stay next time.

Entering Zelis is a trip to the 1980s, but it is not a negative criticism, on the contrary,the decoration of the rooms,bar and dining rooms has its charm,for example, the lamps of the night tables of the Rooms.Give a look at the bar in a morisco style and especially the great samobar located in the entrance of the hall. The hotel has lift and pool. The cleaning is superb. The hotel is located in a residential, safe and quiet area, five minutes walk from the main door of the medina and the stop of the big taxis. The picturesque central food market is also a few meters away. Our room has views of the sea, port and neighborhood of 🚒.This furnished with 2 single beds, the beds are comfortable,there is a refrigerator, TV,A/C,arm clock,a small desk and a safe. The blue and white coats play with the garden, in other rooms are yellow. The bathroom is wide with bathroom with box and bide. The cost of benefit is good, we pay EUR 45 double room with 🥣 . Although breakfast buffet is the Aquiles tall of the hotel with little variety and quality is improved, the boiler is industrial, except chocolate bread, coffee is watered and the industrial orange juice cannot be taken.The best is white 🧀 and the The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable.

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour group. Located in the Medina, we walked in from the main road, with our suitcases brought to the hotel by private courier. Otherwise, you’d have to drag your suitcase through the Mattie, hilly Medina streets. Our room was small: room for a very firm queen bed, a bureau and 2 straight backed chairs. Others in our group had much larger rooms. Our small windows faced outside, which meant street noise at night and in the early morning (roosters crowing and call to prayer) but this was fairly minor. Others in our group had windows opening into internal hallways. Cute Moroccan decor. Shower took a long time to warm up. Minor adjustments were needed as it came up to temperature to avoid a scalding. Water pressure was low and varied by water temperature. Good breakfast options: plain omelettes, goat cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber (both peeled), Moroccan bread.

The hotel is not bad and popular. Chefchaouen is not as good as imagined, this hotel is in the center of Chefchaouen, and the so-called center is the end of a vegetable market. The hotel's value for money is ok, the owner is very nice and the service is very good. The facilities in the rooms are good and clean. The breakfast was made by the owner's family. The orange juice I squeezed was delicious. The little brother at the end was very shy. It is recommended to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at villa Rita. It’s not right in the Medina which for us was a bonus as we like to stay away from the action in quieter neighborhoods. It’s a short cab ride ($2) from the Medina or a 30 minute walk. We visited at a non peak tourist time so we were given a choice of rooms. They are spacious…bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and kitchenette. Very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and well appointed. There are 2 outside rooftop terraces for relaxing and nice views. The breakfast was incredible. We had the choice to have it on our room or on the balcony. So many offerings delivered to our room…a lovey over easy egg, crepes, rolls, cheesed, lovely fresh fruit, olives, fresh squeezed orange juice. It’s a guest house, not hotel, so the desk is not staffed so if you want full concierge service you might want to choose a hotel. But, we were warmly greeted and oriented and given keys to the outside door/gate as well as our room so we could come and go at any time. I highly recommend this beautiful, charming, place for your stay in Chefchaouen!
