The hotel and staff were great. Unfortunately, I ran into two problems. While I appreciated the restocking of the minibar (included in the price), the fridge wasn't working, so the drinks were warm.
Also, when I was trying to leave the garage after my stay, the exit ramp wouldn’t open—even though I had a paid ticket valid for the rest of that day. The reception was unable to resolve the issue, so I had to back out. I noticed the entrance ramp was open and used that to exit instead.
There was no apology from reception regarding the issue.
Other than these two small things—which can happen—my overall impression wasn’t affected. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.
Hotel is located in a quiet environment with plenty of free parking outside the premise (albeit a little walking is required). Very close by to the exhibition. Easy check in process and the staff are friendly and attentive to our requests during the stay.

The reception is very nice, very good service. I want to thank Hamid, because he helped us to change the room. We have a baby with us, he helped a lot. The hotel has one side closed to the train trail, so if you are sensitive to the sound, should choose another side.

Be careful!
Husband and I forgot something so we returned to our room after we were downstairs for less than 15 minutes. At the door handle, our ‘privacy’ sign was still hanging there but was covered by ‘housekeeping’ sign. And one maid was in the room! Although she said she was there to clean the room but it’s ridiculous as I believe it’s every hotel’s staff 101 to know what the sign means. There’s only one sign there too so it’s no way to confuse.
Anyways we let her did her cleaning before we packed our stuffs back into the luggages before we left the room again. There’s a man talking to her in front of our room, who then turned to ask us if everything ok. He said he’s a staff so my husband told him about what happened but he kept saying that no one would get into the room when there’s the sign hanging. Even when my husband showed him the sign that still hanging at the door, he kept repeating the same sentence for 6 times! Without saying any other words! Is he a robot, I wonder lol but that made my husband stop wasting the time with him and we left. At least, the maid said sorry to us at the end.
I recently stayed at the Dorint Hotel Munich/Galin and was very pleased with the experience. The hotel exceeded my expectations in many aspects, especially the comfort of the room and the overall quality of service.
advantage:
Spacious Rooms: The hotel rooms are very large and comfortably furnished. The spacious space makes people feel very relaxed, and they can enjoy great convenience whether they are resting or working. The beds are comfortable, the furniture is modern and the facilities are complete.
Beautiful View: From the room you can enjoy the beautiful view around the hotel. Whether it's the morning sun or the night lights, they all add to the stay experience. The landscape greatly enhances the overall pleasure of staying here.
Excellent Breakfast: The breakfast provided by the hotel was very rich and delicious. Whether it's a variety of breads, cheeses, hot or cold foods or fresh fruit, the selection is huge and of high quality. The breakfast environment is also very comfortable, making people enjoy a pleasant dining time.
Service: The service at the hotel is excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Room service was also prompt and met our various needs.
Facilities: The hotel has complete facilities and the public areas are clean and modern. The gym and other facilities are well maintained and very easy to use.
insufficient:
Transportation: Although the hotel itself is excellent, transportation may be a little inconvenient if you are not driving yourself. It is recommended to plan your travel route and transportation in advance.
Overall, Dorint Hotel Munich/Galin is a highly recommended accommodation option. Whether it's the comfort of the room, the view or the breakfast, it all adds to the entire stay experience. Whether traveling for business or leisure, this is an ideal place to stay.
During the Munich BMW Show, I stayed at this hotel. The price of the hotel during the BMW Show is not representative, but the location of this hotel is very convenient, whether it is to go to the city center or to the exhibition. There is a kitchen and knives in the room, and there is a local supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient. It is worth recommending for family travel
Very good hotel, high-end and classy, nothing else, the hotel is very close to the subway entrance, very convenient, next time I go to Munich, I will choose it again, must praise it!
GGuest UserFirst the positive:
The breakfast buffet was rich and appealing with very nice service staff.
There was a super great pizzeria and gelateria, which were on the ground floor of the hotel. We had a great evening there and the pizzas were just perfect and authentically Italian.
The negative side: We booked three rooms. The rooms would actually be modern and nice. But no matter where you look: NOTHING was clean! The sheets/towels were changed, but I had the impression that the cleaning was not done at all or only very superficially. Dirt on the shelf, the ledge, lots of crumbs on the floor, chalky fittings, dirty toilet seat, mold on the rubber seals in the shower, dirty cabinets, doors, door latches. Worst: Dirty and disgusting duvets when you pull back the sheet. Something like that should be washed if it has stains. Disgust factor to the power of 10. I spend 8-10 weeks a year in hotels, but this was an impertinence that I had never seen before.
At night:
Loud bass music blared through the walls and floor until about 2am. Youngsters were in front of the window, which made noise until 5 in the morning. It was way too warm in the room. I am aware that the hotel cannot do anything about the noisy people in front of the room and the heat, but it was just crowning the rest. It was just horrific. We booked this hotel to recover from a long drive and drive more on the next day. Recovery wasn’t possible as we all couldn’t sleep.
I will never book a Dormero hotel again. The term “fancy” they love to use means something completely different in my world.
FFrancisJBThe location is excellent - it is next to Munich railway station. And Lufthansa airport shuttle bus stop is literally outside the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. They loan me a kettle. And they allowed me to leave luggage.
The room is ok. The lift is small but working well. There is hot water shower and the heating radiator worked well. I saw a gym but I didn’t use it.
I will definitely choose to stay at Amba again next time I visit Munich
JJohnMarkRGreat location if you want to do sports or partying around Ostbahnhof. Parking downstairs, or 3 min walk from the train station. Restaurants etc all nearby.
Basic but clean and comfy rooms, friendly staff. Would stay again 🤙🏻 Cheeky insider: Go across the road to Wombats hostel for 5€ basic breakfast and coffee 🙃
GGuest UserCheck in in the middle of the night, there is no 24-hour staff, it takes half a day to check in on the phone
The location is still a bit far
But it's quite new. There's McDonald's, supermarkets etc. downstairs.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located close to the city. The service team is very friendly and supportive. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The only negative point: there is far too less parking space to write „we’re offering free parking“. The available parking space is only covering 25% of the rooms. We’ve arrived in the evening and there was no parking space at the hotel left and it was hard to find a parking space close to the hotel without getting a penalty. The description should be adjusted. It’s misleading marking to say „we have free parking space“.
AAndrew30 mins from NeuSchwanstein was a perfect location. The rooms were comfortable but needed updating.
The amount of cigarette smoke around the hotel was very uncomfortable - at the front door and people on the balconies of the rooms making the windows being open the same as a smoking room.
The town is small but pleasant.
Hotel restaurant has generous portions with relaxed and friendly staff. The breakfast is good and offers a range of food that is more than ample.
JJylsLifeStorySuch a beautiful place, so clean, easy check in, friendly staff. There's no kettle or coffee maker or refrigerator or water bottles or vending machines. No one informed me that the lift doesn't work at night or that I would need to exit/enter through a door with a key at the bottom of the stairwell instead of through the reception area. Seems like a fire hazard, and if you're handicapped, you're trapped.
SsiccillaiEnvironment: It takes 9-10 minutes to walk from the train station. There are no supermarkets around the hotel, and restaurants are also a bit far away. The surrounding area is deserted, but it is very close to the subway station, so traveling is quite convenient.
Facilities: The room is not large, relatively dark, and the bathroom is also very small. Overall it doesn't meet the 4-star standard. The only good thing is the 24-hour drink machine.
