Shangri-La Golden Sands truly embodies relaxation, with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and a laid-back charm. The food is excellent, the beach is beautiful, and guests also enjoy the convenience of a complimentary shuttle service to downtown Georgetown via Jen Hotel.Kudos to them!

Hospitality is superb, but the only downside is the kids' pool. It was so slippery at the 3 hoops sections. Slipped and fell hard on it. Hurt my wrist as I used my wrist to break the fall. It happened too fast.. hopefully, the maintenance could look into it and really scrubbed it as it is indeed very dangerous for the kids.

Staff gave us a free upgraded from Executive to Premium Pool Suite : ). The room is excellent with private pool, sauna and full sea view! The bedroom is very clean with separated bath tub and toilet. My girl enjoyed it very much! Best staycation in Penang.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at PARKROYAL Penang! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The service was excellent, and the entire team—from the front desk to housekeeping was professional, warm, and attentive. I surprised my husband with a birthday treat during our stay, and the hotel team made it extra special by sending the birthday surprise after we returned from the pool, which was such a thoughtful touch. My husband also planned to surprise me for our anniversary, and although the swan decoration on the bed was set up after we arrived, I truly appreciated the effort it was romantic and made the moment unforgettable. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious great variety, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. The dining experience at Cinnamon Restaurant was made even better by the warm hospitality from Nadia, Hidayah, and the entire team. Special thanks to Zeyati, our room service staff, for her kindness and attention to detail, and to the bellman who helped us with our bags so efficiently. A big shoutout to the two amazing crew members at the Kids Club (sorry forget their name but i have picture of them) they were so attentive and caring with the children. My kids absolutely loved them, and their warmth made a big difference in our stay. We truly appreciate their effort and energy! The room was clean and spacious, the facilities were top-notch, and the beach access was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hospitality shown by the crew and team was beyond expectations. Everything was excellent, and I truly appreciate the care and attention from everyone at PARKROYAL Penang. We’ll definitely come back again! Spacious room, room air con is centralised, very cold and suitable for the hot weather. Breakfast is good, 3 min walk to the beach. Hotel pool suitable for kids fun play. Total 10 floors of hotel room. Grab to surrounding restaurants is also very easy

Hard Rock - Pleasant stay. Getting a superb experience from the Lagoon room. It is an amazing experience with the pool just in front of your room deck. Head into the pool for a swim anytime and back to the deck to chill on the bench. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, on the contrary, it is a bit disappointing on the concierge side as there is a contrast if comparing the two. Breakfast is great. A lot of selection and food is holding up its quality. However, the decorations and renovations seem to be a bit ‘outdated’, but not sure if this is intentional. The pool and surrounding facility are great as well, with the beach feel with sand on the floor surrounding the pool. There are sections of the pool which have sand as well. One thing to take note of is they have lifeguards on duty.

The hotel is located in Teluk Bahang, furthest away from Batu Ferringhi Beach, offering excellent privacy and a peaceful environment. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the two swimming pools were great for relaxing. Although the beach area is small, it was still pleasant, and the breakfast variety was acceptable. However, the hospitality could be improved. I arrived at 1:30 PM and was informed that the room was not yet ready, and the receptionist would call once it was. Unfortunately, when I returned after 2:30 PM, the receptionist was missing, and I later found out that the room had already been ready for some time. Additionally, no welcome drink was offered upon arrival or during check-in. Overall, while the stay was comfortable and the facilities were good, the service experience was disappointing.

For sure will repeat stay here! We come early(2pm) and we try to ask whether can make an early check in. The receptionist said we can(Thanks to him. I forgot to ask his name. He is from Sabah). He mention all the flow to parking, breakfast and others. Btw there is kiosk for check in too. That time the guard on duty asked us to park beside the lobby(for a while) and do check in. The process is fast! Parking : Level 3-6. Please mention your car plate no during check in for them to key in your plate no in the system so that you no need to make payment for parking. Lift : Please find wall/door mention to Iconic Regency. Tap your card and press your room floor. Breakfast : Breakfast buffet is at Iconic Marjorie Hotel. We need to go to lobby(Floor 1) and find the door that connect to Iconic Marjorie Hotel. Next, use their lift and go to the 2nd floor (Tiffin Lounge). The food was good and delicious! Infinity Pool : Floor 42. open until 10pm. There is kids pool & infinity pool. The view was so amazing. We can see flights , Penang 1st Bridge and 2nd Bridge.

Facilities: Great! Cleanliness: Spotless, with a chic and elegant vibe. Location: Fantastic, with very convenient transport links. Service: The service was impeccable and much appreciated. I'll definitely be back to stay here again next time – I absolutely loved it!

We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The unit is spacious, and we really appreciated that the king bedroom could comfortably fit three people — making it suitable even for our group of 6 adults and 1 child. The location is perfect — easy to access and surprisingly no traffic jams in the area. Most Penang attractions and food spots are only about a 10–15-minute drive away, which made exploring really convenient. My coffee place which is constant gardener is not far from here. Anyway, the host was helpful, responsive, and reliable, replying quickly to any questions we had. Both the air conditioning and hot water worked well throughout our stay. Nearby, walking distance from the apartment there is a nice stalls that sell great breakfast with nice malay kuih. On the downside, while basic cleaning was fine, we noticed that some kitchen items like cups and glasses inside the drawers were not properly cleaned, so we had to wash them ourselves. Soap was provided, but given that there’s a cleaning fee, this area could definitely be improved. The towels and pillows were also quite worn out and could use replacement to make the stay more comfortable. Also there is no coway water filter as advertised, so probably it is at other unit but not my unit. The main issue we faced was with the lift during peak hours. On our checkout day, it took an hour waiting that my family ended up taking the stairs from level 23 down to the carpark at level 8! It seems this happens many times and a lot of upset people especially when one of the lifts is used by workers, knowingly many people are stuck Overall, this apartment offers great value for its size, location, and host service, with only minor improvements needed in cleanliness and maintenance and if you can be patient with the waiting lift.
