"This hotel is absolutely amazing! It's the best B&B we've ever stayed in! The room is spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean. The windows on both sides offer views of the hotel garden and mountains, and the neighboring garden. My room's balcony faced the Matterhorn, allowing me to take photos of the golden sun setting over the mountain. The staff are warm and friendly, and they offer train station pickup. The toiletries are L'Occitane, and the little touches like the complimentary chocolates in the room and the complimentary fruit snacks in the lobby are heartwarming!"

"The hotel boasts an excellent location and a unique, tasteful decor with wooden elements throughout, which I really loved. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, changing daily. You can even see the Matterhorn from the balcony, though my view from the second floor was unfortunately somewhat limited. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the single rooms are a bit on the smaller side. It's very convenient for the train station and exploring the town, with a Coop supermarket, shops, and restaurants all conveniently located nearby. After a 2-night stay, it was overall a very pleasant experience!"

"The hotel is located on the main street of Zermatt and it is very convenient to get off the train for two minutes.
The room is large in size and the decoration style is elegant and comfortable. There is a balcony to see Matt Peak. The only inconvenience is that because it is a slope roof on the top of the bed, there is a cross beam that is easy to hit the head. It takes a few times to pay attention to ⚠️
The hotel's breakfast was great, with more varieties and fresh and delicious ingredients. The service staff was also polite and thoughtful.
The town is not big, and the dining and shopping around the hotel are very convenient."

"The Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality."

"I traveled with clutch and to the hotel is simply easy walk. Direct opposite the rail station and near all the restaurants and Coop.

"A very pleasant hotel in Zermatt, very design, the front desk is very warm, take the initiative to take you to the room to introduce various facilities. There was a fog on the day of the trip, I didn't see the top of the mountain, but the snow that woke up the next morning made my son very happy. The breakfast was very rich and you could order a single egg and waffles or something. The room facilities were also very good, there was a small fireplace, and it was very warm in winter. There is an open-air pool on the first floor of the hotel, and the feeling of ice and fire is still very exciting. There is a hockey court at the door. The children are practicing hockey early in the morning. It is fun to watch it next to it."

"Hygiene is not up to standard, there are hairs on the bed. The spacer laid under the sheets was shorter than the mattress, making it uncomfortable to lie on. The quilt is very strange. The size of the quilt is very small and the quilt cover is not a set. The big bed is actually two beds pushed together with a slit in the middle. There are free drinks in the room refrigerator and a chocolate as a gift. The hotel provides round-trip pick-up service, but it can only go to the train station, and you have to bring your luggage to the train station. I want to go to the train station in advance to use this service, but it is not possible. It is really stubborn."

"The location is excellent. Just walk straight from the train station to the river and turn left. It's also very close to the observation deck and the train (just opposite the train station) in less than 10 minutes. The room is very comfortable. You can see the Matterhorn from the big window. The breakfast is also good. I like their plates. The handsome guy at the front desk has super long legs and is handsome hahaha"

"The hotel is very beautiful inside and outside, the room is large, there are facilities such as spa sauna gym, breakfast is good.
Very close to the Glacier Paradise cable car, but far from the station, there is a large luggage need to call the hotel early to pick up and drop off, about 15 minutes to the station.
More disappointing is that the original reservation of the mountain view room, but the first floor only saw a little bit of the mountain top, to the golden sunrise or to endure the cold run out of the hotel outside the wooden bridge location can be reached first, there is a big difference with the hotel."

"For a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!"

XXIAOThe owner of the store is very welcoming, the people are very good, the room is very clean, the breakfast is not suitable for the Chinese, most of them are bacon and omelettes, it feels like a small and refined hotel. Focus on the key! ! ! ! ! During the preliminary booking, we repeatedly confirmed whether Ctrip can bring two elderly children with five-year-old children. The answer is definitely no problem. As a result, when we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the boss refused us to stay on the spot and said that Ctrip’s agent informed the booking customer. With children, you can stay in a double room. In fact, you can only book a family room. Fortunately, Ctrip has a timely response to the communication and upgraded the room type to check in, but when you arrive at the store, the unpleasant experience is really bad!

Ccet7The location is very convenient. It takes two or three minutes to walk across from the train station. The hotel room is very new. Open the window and the balcony is full of birdsong and flowers. The hotel has a spa service. The breakfast is great. The hotel staff are very warm and friendly. The only drawback is that the bathroom is not dry Wet separation, but does not affect the advantages of the hotel

XXiaolinyaoshunliLet's talk about the advantages first: a great view of the Matterhorn, you can see it from the terrace, and you can also see it when you have breakfast in the restaurant, the view is very good. The room is about 10 minutes' walk from the train station, and it's still a bit hard to drag the suitcase, but there is a free taxi when you check out and go to the station~
The other feeling is that the room is so small... There are few types of breakfast, especially after staying at sunstar, the difference in breakfast is a bit obvious. In addition, the main door is a bit difficult to find, you have to go up a few stairs and walk through a corridor to get there. I was so tired when I arrived in Zermatt that day, and it was painful to carry the luggage up the stairs.
In short, the recommendation index is three and a half stars.

The room was tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed, excellent house cleaning services. Provide personal skincare product, especially the sheep soap that I love it ! Breakfast was also excellent.
I’d want to go there again ! :)

GGuest UserThis is a car-free town. Our own guide was not comprehensive, which was very embarrassing. Fortunately, the little girl at the front desk was very cute. The staff on duty who helped carry the luggage were also very satisfied and gave us a lot of support!

The room is not big, but it is enough for use, and the mattress is very comfortable to sleep on.

GGuest UserTraveling with four elderly people in the family on the last day because of the different wake-up time, we decided to go to eat in each room. Half of the restaurant service staff came over loudly and accused us that we are a big family and should sit at a big table together. We should not sit separately for a while. There is no place to come. The restaurant is not big. Two big tables were booked. A big table was occupied by a Japanese couple. We sat at the two tables. What's the problem? At this time, it was not even eight o'clock. When I checked in, several people at the front desk were muttering in their office. It’s just how China is. In addition to the few people who clean the room every day, they are quite easy to get along with. Others are really wearing colored glasses for the Chinese.

NNYTravelsWe love the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The view from the balcony of our room gave us a clear view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is easily accessible from the Zermatt train station and the Town centre .
We loved the room allocated and found it extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast buffet which was pretty extensive.
Staff was really pleasant and helpful at all time. Our receptionist even escorted us to the room by stairs because their lift was not functional when we checked in.
The only regret was that we were unable to utilise the sauna and swimming pool facilities due to time constraints.
Will highly recommend the hotel to those who are looking for value for money stays whilst in Zermatt.

AAndreClose to the train station. Although I got an upgrade to a double room, it was small (the table in front of the bed takes a lot of space). The bathroom was big and clean but outdated. The balcony was nice but not really needed in winter.
Everyone can enter the ski room and the individual locker cannot be locked. Perfect for thieves.
