A hidden gem right next to Longyan South Road Food Street! The room was spacious and spotless, with a great separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, which was huge. The king-size bed was really comfortable too. The front desk staff were all very polite and always greeted us with a smile. If you're coming to enjoy Shantou's food, this is definitely the place to stay.

We spent two nights at the Shantou Wuxiangju and really enjoyed having the entire ancient house to ourselves. The garden and pond are beautifully maintained, and the location is perfect—right in the middle of countless great eateries. Bottled water was provided and replenished daily. Just keep in mind this isn't five-star luxury: the pillows are quite soft and flat (which might not suit everyone), and many mosquitoes. They do help with luggage via motorbike from a drop-off point about two minutes away (look for the pin at 和记牛肉粿条汤). Overall, a charming and authentic stay.

Exceeded expectations in every way! I was a bit worried at first since it was our first time staying in a local hotel in China instead of a big chain hotel, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. We were warmly greeted by the staff, who explained everything we needed to know, and they were very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. The service was professional, and the cleanliness of the place was excellent. If you’re looking for a place within walking distance of the old town cultural area, this is absolutely the place for you!

The hotel is newly opened and has a great overall ambiance. The hygiene conditions are excellent, and the room details are well thought out, including a mini-fridge and tea-making facilities. The bathroom is a highlight with its high-tech toilet and excellent toiletries, and the water pressure for showering is fantastic and very comfortable! The front desk staff are enthusiastic, always ready to answer questions, and genuinely think of the guests' needs! There's free coffee and tea on the first floor of the hotel, which are quite good! The rice noodle roll place next to the hotel is also good, and it's not far from Zhujiang Food Street, which is very convenient!

My kids love the room and it becomes one of the great memories in shantou! The host is responsive and responsible and very helpful. It's very good experience staying there and enjoy the great services.

The location is close to several restaurants and shops however, the building itself is looks very old and shabby from the outside. Once you enter the room though it is very aesthetically pleasing while the all white aesthetic is hard to keep clean. The couch looked a little old and dirty when you look closely but in pictures everything looks nice. There is a great cafe and steam bun place down the street for breakfast. It is a 10 minute walk to the harbor where you can walk and relax at night or stroll in the sun during the day. It is a 10 minute drive to Zuimei Beach which was very convenient. From the bridge it is about 25 minute drive, located right in the middle of the island. In general for the price we paid I felt it was totally worth it, the staff was nice, and they helped us park for free about a 5 minute walk down the street. They had toothbrushes in the room but also had an area to get other amenities like mouth wash, hair ties, bug spray, etc. They also had water that you can help yourself to. The best part? At the end of the night they delivered a bag with milk and heated eye masks before bed. This was unexpected and very cute. I'm a regular guest at this hotel. The hygiene needs improvement, especially in the hard-to-reach corners. The room is quite comfortable and offers great value for money. It's about a 10-minute walk to the food street where you can sample Chenghai delicacies like braised goose, which is really delicious.

The room was very tidy and the environment was great, especially our sea view room. However, some maintenance is needed. The water pressure in the room was extremely low! The hot water would turn cold after a few seconds, then stop completely for a few seconds before returning to normal, and this kept repeating 😢. It would be freezing in winter. There's a small soaking tub in the room, but even after an hour of filling, the water only reached our ankles. Plus, the room let in a lot of light.

The hotel's location is good, not far from Longyan South Road. The parking lot is quite large with plenty of spaces, and parking is free for guests. The room looked pretty good initially, but as I was just opening my suitcase to get some clothes out, I suddenly saw a small creature crawl out nearby. On closer inspection, it was a small cockroach. I was a bit startled. Luckily I spotted it in time, otherwise, it would have crawled into my suitcase 😵💫 The hygiene is a bit concerning.
