The breakfast was rich, the room was quiet and comfortable, the hotel was new and clean, and parking was convenient. I was very satisfied with my stay. It was very cost-effective and worth recommending!

GGuest UserThe hotel has a great location, making it easy to get around, and there are tons of fantastic food options nearby! After booking, a thoughtful concierge reached out to us. They were incredibly attentive and even upgraded our room when they found out we were two adults and two children, which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was excellent! The morning tea was also a highlight. Highly recommend staying here!

Many good restaurants and cafes around , even have a MacDonald’s on the ground floor.
The host is superb. No lobby but easy check in and check out. The host answers our request fast.

FFuyoujiang✨ Seriously, I struck gold in Shantou! The DIOTEL Chao Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, it felt like I'd entered a serene bamboo haven. You can spot bamboo elements everywhere – in the lobby, hallways, and rooms – beautifully complemented by light wood tones and soft lighting. That subtle Zen ambiance instantly brought a sense of calm. The room design was so thoughtful; it didn't feel like a cold, impersonal hotel room at all, but rather like a tasteful friend's home. It was incredibly comfortable!
💁 I have to praise the service! The front desk staff were so gentle and polite. They handed me a warm tea while checking in and even reminded me about the Red Peach Glutinous Rice Cake (Hong Tao Guo) activity later that evening.
The highlight was definitely their intangible cultural heritage activities! I managed to catch the Red Peach Glutinous Rice Cake DIY session at 8 PM in the hotel's small activity room. The instructor patiently guided us step-by-step, from kneading the dough to filling it. When I finally bit into the steamed cake – oh my, that chewy texture combined with the savory filling was incredibly satisfying!
🎭 Saturday night was even more surprising, with a Teochew opera performance at 8:30 PM on the hotel's 13th floor at the 'Control Tower Teochew Art Workshop.' The performers' makeup was exquisite, and their flowing sleeves were beautiful; I was completely captivated! It's truly rare to experience local culture so deeply right within your hotel.
🍖 As a late-night snack enthusiast, I was thrilled! The hotel offers a barbecue and a raw marinated seafood stall in the evening. The raw marinated shrimp was unbelievably sweet, and the barbecue was perfectly cooked. Sitting outdoors, enjoying skewers with the breeze, the vibe was just perfect!
🥣 You absolutely *must* try the Kway Teow for breakfast! The soup broth was incredibly fresh, and you could add your own toppings. There were also plenty of Teochew side dishes to choose from. It felt like both my stomach and my heart were well taken care of!
If you're coming to Shantou and want a stylish yet authentic stay, this place is a no-brainer!

My parents, sibling and I stayed for a total of 3 nights in their 4 pax room.
It’s a beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodation with personal courtyard and interior. Bed and duvet were so comfortable especially in the chilly weather of 18 ~ 22 degrees. I didn’t spot anything obvious I can complain about regarding the cleanliness of this place, hence 5/5 for cleanliness.
Location is perfect (5/5). Next to streets of food places that have good ratings, and super near 万象城 shopping mall (restaurants, luxury shops, retail and more). Anyways cabbing around Shantou is really convenient, fast, and affordable. Even though it is nested amongst other tall residential area, once we close the door we couldn’t hear much noise from outside.
Service is 5/5 as well. There’s free pickup and drop off serviced from the railway station. There’s daily fresh fruits delivered to us, as well as chicken soup. There’s also free laundry service which we really appreciate! Staffs were always ready to help and always ready to give recommendations. We really felt their hospitality and they are genuine in providing best service possible.
Amenities is 5/5 as well. The hair dryer is Laifen brand which is so strong and sleek looking. They provide disposable towels on top of those reusable towels. Their slippers are fluffy and comfy. They have like everything we need.
Bonus: Their residential cat and her kittens are adorable!!!
All in all wonderful stay and would stay again if i ever visit Shantou again. Suggestions for improvement: (1) more variety in breakfast options (stayed for 3 nights and felt that some breakfast options would be great), and (2) the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are a little too hard to pour out maybe can consider using press bottles.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and professional welcome from the front desk team. Every staff member I encountered – from reception to housekeeping – went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their friendliness, efficiency, and genuine hospitality really made me feel valued as a guest. They also help to receive my taobao delivery of parcels. Well down for all staff.
The hotel’s room & lobby cleanliness is well-maintained. My room felt fresh, tidy, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that showed the care and attention put into daily upkeep. The housekeeping team did an amazing job, and I truly appreciated their promptness and consistency throughout my stay.
The location is also a major highlight – conveniently situated near key attractions located in shantou old city , dining options, yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s sleep. It made exploring the area effortless, and I could easily return to the hotel for a quick rest before heading out again.
The amenities exceeded my expectations. The facilities were modern, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to cater to both leisure and big group of families. From the helpful lounge areas to the private VIP big room facilities, and in-room conveniences, everything was in place to make my stay both enjoyable and productive.
Overall, my experience here was nothing short of excellent. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently on all fronts – cleanliness, service, location, and amenities – but this hotel truly does. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their dedication and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Now, for the room – it's truly a highlight! The massive windows are absolutely fantastic, providing unparalleled natural light. You can simply lie in bed and soak in the city views 🌆. The bedding is cloud-soft, ensuring you sleep soundly until you wake up naturally. The mattress offered perfect support – even with my back issues, I was incredibly satisfied! The room layout is thoughtfully designed, and all the amenities are brand new and smart. The TV and lighting controls are super convenient, giving the room a distinctly modern, tech-savvy feel.
The bathroom boasts excellent wet/dry separation, and the grey marble gives it a truly luxurious feel. The smart toilet is an incredibly thoughtful touch – a dream come true for anyone who appreciates attention to detail! You can take a bus directly from the high-speed rail station right to the hotel entrance. Dining options are also great; there's a Kway Teow place right next door and a Chee Cheong Fun spot nearby. The room facilities were excellent too. I'd definitely come back if I need a place again.
