EEhuocikehaifubingOverall, it was decent. After all, Chaoshan has become a popular travel destination in the past two years. Hanting hotels are always a safe bet, and this trip to Shantou was for relaxation and good food. The hotel is located north of the Huanghe Road elevated highway, but the soundproofing of the windows is quite good; at least, I slept well. The only downside during our stay was that my wife and I both got several bites, which we couldn't identify. They weren't itchy, but there were several small red spots. Additionally, the towels replaced on the second day had stains.

GGuest UserThis hotel's design is truly unique – I'd sum it up as 'classical modern.' The large floor-to-ceiling mirrors have an antique charm, and the moon-shaped light bulbs are quite ingenious. You can tell the designer aimed to create an elegant, classic hotel with a modern flair. The location is also very vibrant and lively, with a market and various restaurants right downstairs, making shopping super convenient. Finally, a shout-out to the cleaning staff and the front desk lady. The front desk staff introduced us to local Shantou delicacies like Chaoshan beef hotpot and fresh pork offal porridge. I must say, Shantou is a really great place to live! I'd also recommend trying the breakfast offered at Le Bai Hotel; it's quite authentic to Shantou's traditional flavors. Today, they served fresh seafood with kway teow – excellent! 👍

KKnyong99The service was terrible. We stayed for two days. When we checkin on the first day at around 4pm, the room was not clean up and they staff said they were very busy that day and asked us to wait at the lobby.
On the second day, we came back at around 5pm after a whole day tour, the same situation happen. No housekeeping was done. Same excuse given to us .
This is one of the worst accommodation I have stayed in China. The staff are not welcoming.

RRenmomoLet me start by saying the owner didn't offer any gifts or discounts for this good review – these are purely my personal feelings.
**Environment:** The location is absolutely fantastic. It's right next to the Kai Fu Culture Museum and the Post Office, about a 5-6 minute walk from Xiaogongyuan (Little Park). Plus, it's not inside the pedestrian street, but right on the main road, making pick-up and drop-off by car super convenient.
**Hygiene:** They provided disposable towels, which we were all very happy with. The toilet and bedding were clean. The living room was spotless and very new; the living and dining areas were large and comfortable.
**Facilities:** The only slight drawback was the limited number of power outlets. It was a bit tricky to find a spot for our portable electric kettle. However, there was a real gas heater in the dining room, which was wonderfully warm and cozy.
**Service:** 100-point service! We ordered a lot of deliveries, and the staff not only received them but even delivered them to our room. We were also celebrating a birthday (with the understanding that we'd clean up all decorations ourselves), and the staff not only discreetly stored our cake but also gave us a small birthday gift. They were always friendly and chatty when we came and went. It really made us feel like all Shantou people are genuinely good-hearted, haha.
**Summary:** We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit!

MM40647****It's super convenient to order takeout here, and it's just a short walk to the beach or the promenade for food and sightseeing. The suite we booked with our child was very convenient and even offered a sea view. The guesthouse has a shared kitchen fully equipped with pots, pans, a fridge, and an air fryer, etc. Downstairs, there's a market where you can buy groceries and cook your own meals. The front desk also has beach toys for guests to borrow, and when we checked out, they even gave us a fridge magnet and seaweed as gifts. The service was excellent, and we had a very pleasant stay.

FFuyoujiang✨ Seriously, I struck gold in Shantou! The DIOTEL Chao Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, it felt like I'd entered a serene bamboo haven. You can spot bamboo elements everywhere – in the lobby, hallways, and rooms – beautifully complemented by light wood tones and soft lighting. That subtle Zen ambiance instantly brought a sense of calm. The room design was so thoughtful; it didn't feel like a cold, impersonal hotel room at all, but rather like a tasteful friend's home. It was incredibly comfortable!
💁 I have to praise the service! The front desk staff were so gentle and polite. They handed me a warm tea while checking in and even reminded me about the Red Peach Glutinous Rice Cake (Hong Tao Guo) activity later that evening.
The highlight was definitely their intangible cultural heritage activities! I managed to catch the Red Peach Glutinous Rice Cake DIY session at 8 PM in the hotel's small activity room. The instructor patiently guided us step-by-step, from kneading the dough to filling it. When I finally bit into the steamed cake – oh my, that chewy texture combined with the savory filling was incredibly satisfying!
🎭 Saturday night was even more surprising, with a Teochew opera performance at 8:30 PM on the hotel's 13th floor at the 'Control Tower Teochew Art Workshop.' The performers' makeup was exquisite, and their flowing sleeves were beautiful; I was completely captivated! It's truly rare to experience local culture so deeply right within your hotel.
🍖 As a late-night snack enthusiast, I was thrilled! The hotel offers a barbecue and a raw marinated seafood stall in the evening. The raw marinated shrimp was unbelievably sweet, and the barbecue was perfectly cooked. Sitting outdoors, enjoying skewers with the breeze, the vibe was just perfect!
🥣 You absolutely *must* try the Kway Teow for breakfast! The soup broth was incredibly fresh, and you could add your own toppings. There were also plenty of Teochew side dishes to choose from. It felt like both my stomach and my heart were well taken care of!
If you're coming to Shantou and want a stylish yet authentic stay, this place is a no-brainer!

The hotel offered a wide range of amenities that I personally didn't need, but maybe someone else needs them. Among those were tea, tea cups, water kettle, TV (video projector), aircon, telephone, tissues etc. There's also a laundry room at the 6th floor where you can wash and dry your clothes.

Every staff member I encountered – from reception to housekeeping – went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their friendliness, efficiency, and genuine hospitality really made me feel valued as a guest. They also help to receive my taobao delivery of parcels. Well down for all staff. They also specially provide our room upgrade for seaview to our special honeymoon couple.
The hotel’s room & lobby cleanliness is well-maintained. My room felt fresh, tidy, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that showed the care and attention put into daily upkeep. The housekeeping team did an amazing job, and I truly appreciated their promptness and consistency throughout my stay.
The location is also a major highlight – conveniently situated near key attractions located at seaside , dining options, yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s sleep. It made exploring the area effortless, and I could easily return to the hotel for a quick rest before heading out again.
The amenities are well-equipped, thoughtfully designed to cater to both leisure and big group of families. From the helpful lounge areas to the private big room, and in-room conveniences, everything was in place to make my stay both enjoyable and productive.
Overall, my experience here was nothing short of excellent. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently on all fronts – service, location, and amenities – but this hotel truly does. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their dedication and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I look forward to returning in the future.
