The room facilities were complete. As for hygiene, it was generally okay, but the faucet had noticeable water stains, and there were some stains on the duvet cover. The carpet stains were also quite obvious. In terms of location, it's close to the high-speed rail station, about a taxi's minimum fare away. The lobby is on the 5th floor, which might be a bit confusing and hard to find for first-time guests. The front desk lady's service was good, but one gentleman seemed a bit inflexible – perhaps northern guys are just a bit aloof. The breakfast had a good variety, thumbs up! 👍

If you are getting off near West Qingdao station, this is your hotel to go. It was the best hotel I stayed in Qingdao. Huge spacious very clean high-tech room, polite staff, good service. The hotel felt like it was totally new and it was the biggest room I stayed for a cheap price during my stay in Qingdao. If you need a place around West Qingdao station, this is your hotel to go.

I stayed at this hotel during my visit to Qingdao. The hotel is relatively small, with only two floors, and all guest rooms are located on the second floor. The location is excellent. It is only about a 5-minute walk (365 meters) from Taidong Station Exit G and approximately 500 meters from Taidong Pedestrian Street, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. The Tsingtao Museum is also within walking distance, about 432 meters away, which takes around 6 minutes to reach. The room was exactly as shown in the photos and came with all the essential amenities needed for a comfortable stay. However, there was no refrigerator in the room. There was also a noticeable cigarette smell in the room, although the housekeeping staff opened the windows daily to improve air circulation. One of the useful facilities was the 24-hour laundry room, where guests can wash and dry their clothes. The detergent is already included in the machines, which is very convenient for travelers. The breakfast selection was somewhat limited, but there was enough variety to have a satisfying meal. If you book a room that includes breakfast, make sure to ask for the breakfast vouchers during check-in. Without the vouchers, you may not be allowed to enter the breakfast area. Unfortunately, communication with the staff was challenging. They were unable to communicate effectively in English, and even when using translation apps, assistance was limited. Overall, the hotel offers a great location, clean rooms, and convenient facilities. It is a good option for travelers who prioritize accessibility and value, but those who are sensitive to cigarette smoke or require English-speaking staff may want to keep these points in mind.

JI Hotel (Qingdao Taidong Beer Museum)

Location is on the Taidong Beer Museum street, 5mins walk away but I found it really incovenient. The hotel is located inside a gated community so there's a guard and barrier to entry. Most drivers will not turn in to the hotel which is a good 100-200m away from the barrier. Have to lug your luggage in and out. Very inconvenient if you travelling to and fro via taxi/car. Almost 0 effort by hotel to mitigate this issue. The sign to the hotel is barely seen, no agreement or effort made with the guardhouse to make it easier and fuss free for customers to board. You might as well stay in another hotel on the same street. There's plenty. The building itself was super unkempt, only the inside furnishings look like a hotel from the Ji Hotel brand. The most problematic part about the hotel is the long steep flight of stairs, no escalators, no lift. Worst, no staff in front of the hotel to help with luggage to attempt at any service recovery. Cannot imagine the nightmare it would have been if I was with elderly. Front desk service was really lacking. No warmth, not friendly, barely polite. Did not offer the free gift promised on Trip. Housekeeping is haphazard, I hear them feedback that there's only 3 housekeeping staff but honestly that's really not my problem. 开门就问我怎么还没出门,我也是无语了。 Amentities wise, there's only one lift so you have to share with the robot. Imagine if the lift is full, you might even have to get out to make space for the robot. Lol. The bathroom is crazy small, I reckon a bigger size person can't even turn around. Walls are so thin, we got complained for watching tv at volume 16. Overall, other than the furnishing, it did not feel like a hotel from the Ji Hotel brand. I regularly choose Ji Hotels across different cities in China and I was quite bewildered by this one. To be fair, affordable for the price, nothing impressive. My recommendation is to try another hotel down the street.

Qingdao Seaside Garden Hotel (Wusi Square Gaoxiong Road Subway Station Store)

9.3/10

Sanatorium Getaway I am endlessly excited about choosing this hotel because it met all my needs for a week of isolation and meditative rest. First of all, it was a privilege to be accommodated in a suite—two spacious rooms with a beautiful garden view. I didn't expect such a wonderful room upgrade at all. Secondly, the type of hotel—a sanatorium with a vast territory and separate villa-like buildings—was surrounded by a beautiful garden. The conifer trees were so fragrant that I felt like I was undergoing a course of aroma therapy. Thirdly, the proximity to the seaside park was a major plus. I enjoyed taking strolls along the seashore, breathing in the cedar tree fragrance and gazing at the blue sea. Lastly, the location is cleverly situated right in the middle of travelers' routes, making it no more than 20-30 minutes to either the old town or the wild nature sites around the Lao Mountains. And it also means that I enjoyed the peaceful environment as the tourists crowds were far away and here I hardly heard any noise throughout my week stay. Except for the birds tweeting, which was utterly pleasing! I was happy to have a daily walk down the hill for the breakfast and walking up the hill after the meal which was so healthy and exercising. As well as strolls up an down the hill in order to get on a bus or a metro. I was given a fruit platter daily too. Awesome healthy treat ! All in all, I was on cloud nine. I couldn't have made a better choice than booking this hotel instead of a typical multistory hotel, which now seems like a cell compared to the freedom of living amidst gorgeous nature. After all, that's the essence of summer holidays! Tips: no big choice of restaurants around, just a few and not the best, but there’s a cute villa right across the sea with a cafe in it. I used to order meals via *******, they deliver right to your door, it’s so convenient!

Overall I think the hotel was great for the price. The location especially was very convenient compared to others at the same price point- lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was also a standout, they had seemingly very genuine smiles every time they greeted us. The only issue I experienced was receiving a bath towel with a sizable hole in it from continued use. Otherwise the amenities were generally good. City night view was lovely. Metro was only a 2-3 minute walk.

Just a 5-minute walk from the terminal, this hotel is located in the VIP building. The room was small but clean and tidy, and even though it didn't have a window, the air felt fresh, and the air conditioning/ventilation system was excellent. Staying here saved me the hassle of getting up early and rushing to the airport. The only downside was that the directions were a bit unclear; you really had to pay attention to find it!

Great location, very close to May Fourth Square, the subway station, and MixC shopping mall. The room facilities are a bit old, and the showerhead was wobbly. The cleaning auntie was very nice and kind, and the front desk staff was also great. Apart from the outdated facilities, everything else was good! There are also many good restaurants nearby, and many offer group deals! The Wuhe potstickers were delicious and a great deal with the group purchase.

The front desk is in a different building from where you actually check in, so you have to drag your luggage to another building after you've checked in. However, the room itself was nice and spacious, located on the 26th floor. The cleanliness could be improved though, as it wasn't thoroughly cleaned.
