GGuest UserOn the last day of my trip to Xinjiang, I came to Urumqi. Just like last time, I visited Xinjiang Museum and International Grand Bazaar. This store is located on the busy Beijing South Road. It has a good location. There is a shopping mall nearby and there are many people.

HHannah333The room offers a nice view of the Urumqi Railway Station, and having a washer inside the room was very convenient. The hotel is clean and the housekeeping lady is lovely and very professional, meeting standards that foreign guests will appreciate. However, the hotel is quite far from the city center, and although there is a bus stop nearby, only one bus line passes through and it’s often unreliable. My main suggestion is for the reception staff to improve professionalism. Guests should feel welcomed upon arrival, not judged or asked unnecessary personal questions and be seen looking about my country on her phone while I wait for her to check me in. In comparison with other hotels I’ve stayed at in Urumqi, the reception service here could be more respectful and professional.

GGuest UserIt's a very friendly and relaxed place. The neighbourhood is really nice as well. It's just a short ride from the train station and filled with loads of restaurants and grocery stores and markets. What sparked my interest in this hostel is that the bathroom is downstairs and the room is upstairs. This way you don't have to listen to everyone using to bathroom and the lights won't wake you up. And in reality it worked really well as well; ) The other thing I liked was that they don't hand out single use toiletries and water bottles which sa⁹fes a lot of rubbish. The beds and bedding are really comfy if it is just you in the bunk. If you've got an neighbour then the bed shakes everytime someone moves which is a bit annoying. Unfortunately there's just one big light so everytim⁹e someone needs some light the whole room is brightly lit. A suggestion would be to have multiple lights that are less bright or fit all beds with curtains. Since a lot of people don't know what it takes to be considered curtains would probably safe a lot of grief. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Urumqi again!

GGuest UserThe entire place was impeccably clean, and housekeeping tidied our room daily. The bedding was soft, clean, and odor-free. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and there was plenty of hot water available 24/7, making for a really great shower experience. Definitely worth a stay.

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and the bed was very sturdy. There's a locker with a code for valuables, which shows the owner really cares about quality. They even provide Xiaomi air conditioning and a Xiaomi hairdryer, and the shampoo and shower gel were excellent. I particularly liked that you couldn't eat outside food in the rooms; my roommates were respectful, and we got along great. The lobby is a bright glass sunroom, very airy and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and it's not far from the train station or airport.

GGuest UserHotel was good with a lot of positives. Only negative which I found towel was not clean . There was one red spot there which I don’t know what was that. Hotel is on 25th floor in a commercial building I guess , which I somehow not that easy to locate specially for foreigners.

SSunqiThe vanity light above the sink wasn't bright enough; I couldn't see properly to shave, and it appeared to be broken. The bathroom exhaust fan also didn't work when switched on, suggesting it was faulty as well. I tried calling to report these problems but couldn't find any contact numbers. After some difficulty, I finally located the reservation line, but my calls went unanswered. I hope the hotel conducts more frequent and thorough maintenance checks. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport. The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you. Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift. (Check the other reviews here, for a picture of the gate/door to the building) The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful. They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software. Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact. (This is a CN Govt requirement) The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views. There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one. The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night. The beds are OK. There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too! The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located, except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms. Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.
