GGuest UserOn the last day of my trip to Xinjiang, I came to Urumqi. Just like last time, I visited Xinjiang Museum and International Grand Bazaar. This store is located on the busy Beijing South Road. It has a good location. There is a shopping mall nearby and there are many people.

GGuest UserThis was our first stop during our time in China and we were very happy with our choice. Really easy to find through Didi, 20 minutes from the airport. Easy check in, the room was a good size with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. There is some noise from neighbours but only really when they are in the hallway. Located right next to a coffee shop, taproom and supermarket around the corner. What really made our stay was the lovely staff; Sophia could speak English very well and was extremely helpful and the other members of staff were always welcoming and warm. Of course there is also beautiful Han Han the cat. There is a drinking water fountain which was amazing and saved buying lots of bottles. Our room did smell quite smoky despite it being a non-smoking hotel but that would be our only real negative. Amazing value for money. We would happily stay again and recommend it to others! 😊

HHannah333The room offers a nice view of the Urumqi Railway Station, and having a washer inside the room was very convenient. The hotel is clean and the housekeeping lady is lovely and very professional, meeting standards that foreign guests will appreciate.
However, the hotel is quite far from the city center, and although there is a bus stop nearby, only one bus line passes through and it’s often unreliable.
My main suggestion is for the reception staff to improve professionalism. Guests should feel welcomed upon arrival, not judged or asked unnecessary personal questions and be seen looking about my country on her phone while I wait for her to check me in. In comparison with other hotels I’ve stayed at in Urumqi, the reception service here could be more respectful and professional.

GGuest UserThe entire place was impeccably clean, and housekeeping tidied our room daily. The bedding was soft, clean, and odor-free. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and there was plenty of hot water available 24/7, making for a really great shower experience. Definitely worth a stay.

GGuest UserHotel was good with a lot of positives. Only negative which I found towel was not clean . There was one red spot there which I don’t know what was that. Hotel is on 25th floor in a commercial building I guess , which I somehow not that easy to locate specially for foreigners.

MM561330****The service is very good and thoughtful. The facilities are complete and the hygiene is very good. The hotel is very close to the attractions. In short, it is a very comfortable trip. I will come again next time if I have the chance.

GGuest UserThe hotel is not bad but it's not the best. The location is quite good. It's a 20 minute walk away from the subway station but there's a bus stop which is only about a 2 minute walk away. It's also on a main road with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes.
I like the asthetics of the room -it really does make you feel like you're in Xinjiang. However, the furniture, walls, floor etc are clean but not well maintained so it makes the place look old and unkempt. The bathroom especially needs an update. I do like the amount of storage space in the room though.
I like the staff on reception. They were very helpful and friendly. Most importantly, they were patient in dealing with the language barrier. I was never made to feel like a burden when I asked for help.

GGuest UserOverall, this hotel is a pretty good deal for the price. I only paid around $13 USD for the night, so my expectations were realistic. The complimentary airport shuttle to and from the hotel was definitely appreciated.
That being said, it’s pretty obvious the shuttle is shared between multiple hotels, which can lead to long waits. We waited over 30 minutes at the airport before leaving, and then the drive itself took around 20 minutes because we had to stop and pick up more guests. The shuttle vans themselves are also a bit worn down.
The room was definitely small, but honestly fine for the price, and I appreciated that it had its own private toilet and shower. The staff were also very kind and even made sure we were awake for our very early shuttle the next morning, which was thoughtful.
My biggest complaint would be the pillows—they were genuinely the hardest pillows I’ve ever slept on and gave me a terrible headache. The air circulation/AC also wasn’t great, so the room felt pretty hot overnight.
Overall though, for a super budget airport hotel, it does the job.
GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport.
The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you.
Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift.
(Check the other reviews here, for a picture of the gate/door to the building)
The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful.
They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software.
Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact.
(This is a CN Govt requirement)
The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views.
There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one.
The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night.
The beds are OK.
There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too!
The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located,
except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms.
Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.
