Hotels in Yu Garden Area, Shanghai

We made a one-night stop here on our 10-day trip, after exploring Hangzhou and Suzhou - and we were revisiting, having already enjoyed four lovely nights here earlier. The stay was pleasant and comfortable, with a appreciated free shuttle service to nearby spots. But the highlight was the complimentary supper every night after 9pm - delicious wonton, noodles, and rice noodles! The staff were friendly, polite, and courteous throughout, making our stay even more wonderful!

I came to Shanghai for the marathon this time, and because it was close to the starting line, I chose the Angsana Shanghai on Ctrip. I never expected my stay at the Angsana Shanghai Bund to be so incredibly comfortable! The staff were super friendly throughout. When checking in, they patiently answered all our questions and even proactively helped us plan our sightseeing route for the Bund, City God Temple, and Yu Garden, showing their attentiveness in every detail. The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable; it's just a short walk to the core area of the Bund, and getting to nearby attractions and subway stations is also very convenient. There's no stress at all for exploring, eating, and getting around. I genuinely recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai! If I come back for the marathon next year, I'll definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Although I had to climb a stairs to reach my room, the staff were extremely helpful. Most importantly, as a solo traveller, I felt very safe walking around since it was right next to the Metro station and a Family Mart. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I visited Shanghai in the future

I didn’t get my original request due to a mix up but they were friendly to help me out. The staffs don’t speak English lot but they are patient and you can use translate app to communicate. They have free laundry room in the basement and a massage parlor open late. Super convenient, next to family mart store, near the station and right by Yu Garden. They even tucked in my travel buddy friend when they made the beds

Hotel is new and clean. Located in the busy Yuyuan Garden area with lots of people but the room is quiet and comfortable. Location is central, easy to get to Nanjing Road or the Bund. Hotel only provided me with two bath towels when I booked a room for 3 people. When I asked for an extra bath towel, Ms Wang from the front desk said there are no more bath towels available and asked me to use the floor rag. She said the floor rag has been cleaned and disinfected, hence suitable for use. I am so shocked and disgusted! She kept insisting there are no more bath towels available. She finally gave me a bath towel after I said I will inform the higher management. The picture showed the floor rag that was given to me. It is the same size and texture of the floor rag in the toilet. Am I supposed to wipe my body with that? Ridiculous!

Highly recommended! I actually wanted to look for a family room for four people because I was worried we'd have to sleep separately, but after reading the FAQ it suggested just combining the beds, so we booked the twin room. The beds are big — the two of us fit on a twin bed, and the mattress was even more comfortable than the one we have at home. We slept really well, and we didn’t feel sore at all after waking up. It’s really close to Yu Garden, just a straight walk from the hotel. There are lots of restaurants and street food stalls in front of the hotel, and they taste great. The Didi pickup point is also very close, and the Metro is just across the street. It’s also close to The Bund — still walkable. Most importantly, you can receive Taobao packages there! The reception staff were very helpful! The cleanliness was also very good. Only one downside in my opinion: the lighting in the 5th-floor room wasn’t bright enough, while the 4th-floor rooms were all bright. (We booked four rooms and got two different floors.)

I think this place was pretty good overall and has a pretty good location because the proximity to the central part of the city high is very close. The rooms offer much more space than typical hotels which I find to be very useful and also has a washing machine and built-in dryer. I don’t think there are any major downsides to this hotel to be honest. 

Fantastic stay at this perfectly located hotel, just steps from Yu Garden and the famous Nanxiang soup dumplings. Front desk staff 小魚 was cheerful and helpful. We stayed at executive floor and it was worth every penny: access to the lovely executive lounge with complimentary breakfast, light dinner, unlimited drinks and, most importantly, spectacular panoramic views of Yu Garden and the Bund. Comfortable room, impeccable service and unbeatable location. Highly recommend the executive level for that extra touch of luxury!

First timer in shanghai, and choose this hotel was a great idea. Because the staff so help full, the hotel so clean and near to station. Definitely worth the money. The staff named Qian Yue so NICE AND HELPFUL!

The room size is very ideal and the upkeep of the entire property is very good! Location is also accessible as it is a good walking distance from the metro station and bus stop. Free mini-bar, use of gym and laundry area are also good addition to its amenities. Such great value for money! The cafe and its rooftop view provide a very suitable place to unwind at the end of the day. Hotel staff are very accommodating (speak English well). My family and I enjoyed our stay and we'll definitely return on our next visit to Shanghai.
