Best Koh Samet Hotels

"Koh Samet has become a tourist destination and everything is expensive, whereas hotels and other things seem cheaper in Phuket. I went to Koh Samet because it's close to Bangkok, but it might be better to choose a different beach."

"I have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future."

"Great location, but for families the bar noise is loud. The beds are very uncomfortable, but it is a great beach and is close to other areas to explore. I’m a single traveler so it was ok, but I didn’t sleep very well because of the bed, and bar noise. The food is good but I always preferred to eat at different places."

"The Hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little bit old kind of. The bathroom needs improvements or a renovation. The is big, coffee, kattle, hairdryer, towels and shampoo and shower gel is provided. Unfortunately the room is really dark, there is a window or glass door to get in, but if your room is at ground floor level, then there is not much sunlight. Location is super! Right in the middle of the city centre and very close to the Beach. The cleaning staff is really friendly, reception stuff is quite slow and not so welcoming. Overall it's a nice location to stay for a few days"

"Very good value for money! Rent your motorbike with them too, can’t get it cheaper anywhere else and it’s very convenient. We got enough gasoline for our entire trip, no worries. Beautiful Sai Keaw beach and 711/Restaurants are within walking distance, use the motorbike for the more remote beaches."

"Beautiful view, peaceful location, good service staff, polite and friendly. The swimming pool is secretly too salty. Beyond the general salt water pool I went down to play for just a moment and my skin hurt a lot. Breakfast options are a little less."

"Our Favorite Island Escape! This was our fifth stay at Vangduen Hotel, and we already can’t wait to come back! It’s the kind of place that never disappoints. In fact, the only sad part is packing up to leave. The location is perfect—tucked away on the quiet side of the island, offering so much peace and natural beauty. The clear, calm water and the soft white sand (honestly, it feels like flour!) make it the perfect spot to relax. Even though it’s peaceful, there’s still plenty to do. There’s a great selection of restaurants, a small shop for anything you might need, and a fun fire show in the evenings. The hotel itself is spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The staff are amazing—so friendly and always happy to help with anything you need. It’s those little things that make each stay so special. We’d recommend this place 100%. In fact, we’ve already booked our next trip in two weeks! Vangduen Hotel really is a gem, and we feel lucky to have found it."

And what is worth noting: The modernization of the room stock was carried out, the house with a sea view turned out to be excellent in terms of amenities and with stunning sea views! New clean renovation, soft bed. They added a beach bag, a branded hat, and a bar in the refrigerator, like in five-star hotels. Well done! Commendable! The hotel's restaurant has delicious food. We were satisfied on all counts and are already planning a new visit 😉🎣 We returned here a year later because this particular beach is very ”sunk into the soul”. "The hotel is located in a remote area, but the scenery is not bad. The room is clean, but there are many ants and geckos. The shower is small and the water temperature is not good. I stayed in the top room, and the recliner was very old and had a sense of age. The chairs in the rooms below have been replaced, except for the last row, which is very tiring to climb the stairs, and has better privacy. After all, it is on the island, so the requirements cannot be too high. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 9:30. There are not many varieties. There are fewer Chinese people, but more foreigners. You must borrow a motorcycle here, otherwise it is very inconvenient."
