Kunming Hostels

The apartment is very clean, it's been cleaned every day. Bed is comfortable and bedroom is quiet. Living room is beautiful. The owner is friendly, helpful and hard working woman. Location is near railway station and there is a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood. Thank you for hosting me!

I booked the Single room because I wanted to have a calm night but I also wanted to socialise that’s why I booked a hostel. First of all the receptionist was the cutest! She helped me with everything and was so kind. My room was big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. BUT the bed was really really really hard. You could feel the metal feather coming through. The receptionist gave me a few blankets to make the bed softer which helped. But if you are a sensitive sleeper I can’t recommend. In the end I slept better than expected. But keep in mind, it’s still a hostel. So, you will hear doors being shut regularly. If you are sensitive this will wake you up. The hostel itself is really cute and nice! The views are amazing. If you want to meet locals this is the perfect place. I didn’t meet any other foreign travelers here though. You can also wash and cook here. So all in all it’s a good and cheap hostel IF you are not a sensitive sleeper.

- The most surprising thing about this trip was staying in this youth hostel! The location is great, close to various attractions, and it is very convenient to travel. As soon as you enter the door, the clean and tidy environment makes you feel twice as good, the beds are comfortable, and the public areas are warm. The boss is warm and hospitable. Not only did he help plan the route, but he also met many like-minded friends. Here, not only did I have a comfortable place to stay, but I also gained a super unforgettable travel memory. I will stay here again next time I come here!

The inn is warm and unique, with complete facilities and clean and hygienic environment. You can enjoy tea and sunbathe in the courtyard; take a walk in the flower town to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are also restaurants and restaurants. It is very pleasant.

This place is not about cleanliness, having good water pressure or that the wifi works perfectly in every corner of the huge building. It's even located slightly off-center although there is a nice and huge Sunday market around the corner. This place is all about embracing the homey vibe and the kindness of the people and its boss. The boss has too many hobbies and so is the place cluttered with all kinds of things. It has a nice aesthetic and some lazy and messy home vibes. A good place to meet some nice and interesting people. The boss gave a free concert every evening and he didn't care if anyone was listening. Has a free water filter on the third floor and maybe it's even possible to do laundry for free. Just don't get stuck here.

I chose this hotel for a layover at Kunming Airport. It's not far from the airport and offers a shuttle service, making it incredible value for money for a Kunming Airport transfer. Free airport shuttle service: Just contact the hotel anytime for a pick-up or drop-off, very convenient.

I am so thankful to this motel worker! I had problems with registration in my university and I needed to find place to sleep for night! Location was perfect for me and uncle let me before 14:00 and I am so grateful for this because I was so tired after the road!

Location was great that it was a walk away from the Kunming Railway Station where I needed to be to leave the city. I liked how it was near a lot of food places! The volunteer Evens was an interesting person to talk to when I learned about his background in what he does as an occupation and where he is originally from in China. The owner Winni was a nice person as well and I appreciated and enjoy her and some of the other guests that cooked for us the night that we had a big dinner. Thank you for being part of the chef crew Winni. Everybody who stayed at the place was respectful and considered towards one another in the way that they conducted themselves. Was able to go along with the rules of this hostel because it fit my daily habits. Nobody had any habits that bothered me. Not really into the hostel type of stays, due to lack of privacy. Was just happy to stay at this place since it was pretty much right at the doorstep of the Kunming Railway station where I can catch my train on time where I wouldn't end up getting lost in the city which in turn would end up missing it. The only negative thing that I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have bath towels and just regular hand towels where I would not be able to dry myself very well after showering. Because of this I didn't want to take a shower at this place and the fact that these towels were used repeatedly from other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable wanting to use it. Would come back to this Hostel again if I happen to have to come back to Kunming again where I needed to be near this train station to catch at train there.

The owner is incredibly warm and helpful – ready to assist with directions, luggage, or travel tips anytime. Common areas are cozy and clean, with free fast Wi-Fi and a simple kitchen you can use. Rooms: Beds are comfortable and spacious, with clean bedding and good privacy. Everything is kept tidy, and luggage storage is free – great for budget travelers. Best for: Backpackers, travelers on a budget, and anyone who wants to experience real local life in Kunming without spending much. Simple, safe, and perfectly located – I’d definitely stay here again! ✨

The service attitude is quite good, and the price is acceptable. The environment and facilities can't compare to places that cost over 200, but in the room we stayed in, one of the beds had a stain on the sheet that couldn't be washed off. The pillow also had a yellow side, and when flipped over, there was an even longer stain. I didn't take pictures, but I suggest the hotel instruct the housekeeping staff to report such situations. Even though the room rate isn't high, I recommend that items that can't be cleaned properly shouldn't be reused.
