Kunming Hostels

Location was great that it was a walk away from the Kunming Railway Station where I needed to be to leave the city. I liked how it was near a lot of food places! The volunteer Evens was an interesting person to talk to when I learned about his background in what he does as an occupation and where he is originally from in China. The owner Winni was a nice person as well and I appreciated and enjoy her and some of the other guests that cooked for us the night that we had a big dinner. Thank you for being part of the chef crew Winni. Everybody who stayed at the place was respectful and considered towards one another in the way that they conducted themselves. Was able to go along with the rules of this hostel because it fit my daily habits. Nobody had any habits that bothered me. Not really into the hostel type of stays, due to lack of privacy. Was just happy to stay at this place since it was pretty much right at the doorstep of the Kunming Railway station where I can catch my train on time where I wouldn't end up getting lost in the city which in turn would end up missing it. The only negative thing that I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have bath towels and just regular hand towels where I would not be able to dry myself very well after showering. Because of this I didn't want to take a shower at this place and the fact that these towels were used repeatedly from other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable wanting to use it. Would come back to this Hostel again if I happen to have to come back to Kunming again where I needed to be near this train station to catch at train there.

The apartment is very clean, it's been cleaned every day. Bed is comfortable and bedroom is quiet. Living room is beautiful. The owner is friendly, helpful and hard working woman. Location is near railway station and there is a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood. Thank you for hosting me!

I booked the Single room because I wanted to have a calm night but I also wanted to socialise that’s why I booked a hostel. First of all the receptionist was the cutest! She helped me with everything and was so kind. My room was big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. BUT the bed was really really really hard. You could feel the metal feather coming through. The receptionist gave me a few blankets to make the bed softer which helped. But if you are a sensitive sleeper I can’t recommend. In the end I slept better than expected. But keep in mind, it’s still a hostel. So, you will hear doors being shut regularly. If you are sensitive this will wake you up. The hostel itself is really cute and nice! The views are amazing. If you want to meet locals this is the perfect place. I didn’t meet any other foreign travelers here though. You can also wash and cook here. So all in all it’s a good and cheap hostel IF you are not a sensitive sleeper.

- The most surprising thing about this trip was staying in this youth hostel! The location is great, close to various attractions, and it is very convenient to travel. As soon as you enter the door, the clean and tidy environment makes you feel twice as good, the beds are comfortable, and the public areas are warm. The boss is warm and hospitable. Not only did he help plan the route, but he also met many like-minded friends. Here, not only did I have a comfortable place to stay, but I also gained a super unforgettable travel memory. I will stay here again next time I come here!

The inn is warm and unique, with complete facilities and clean and hygienic environment. You can enjoy tea and sunbathe in the courtyard; take a walk in the flower town to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are also restaurants and restaurants. It is very pleasant.

It is our own fault but we did not realise that this was so far out of the city and at the entrance gate of a cultural Stockade. The host was helpful but there was a bit of an odour from the bathroom.  if your purpose to stay here is to see the cultural stock then this would be a good location but there are no restaurants nearby.  There was a nice view from our window of the lake and some beautiful traditional architecture to walk around and see in the area. 

Good information for finding the place, but it's not that easy. Slow Wi-Fi Locker available No towels No one to check in; you have to wait outside the entrance for someone from the building to come home. Locals smoke in the lounge, with an ashtray provided.

Staying at this hotel was extremely convenient. The most important thing for a hotel is cleanliness, and this hotel is very tidy with incredibly affordable prices. The owner (the lady boss), along with her mother and son, were extremely kind—they helped with everything, provided pick-up and drop-off services, and made the trip very smooth. This was my first time staying at this hotel, and the owner treated me like family. I’m truly grateful! If I visit Kunming again, I’ll definitely stay here once more. 这家酒店住起来非常方便。对于一个酒店来说，最重要的是清洁卫生。这家酒店非常干净，而且价格也非常实惠。老板娘和她的家人（妈妈和儿子）都特别友善，事事都热心帮忙解答，还提供接送服务，让整个旅程非常顺利。这是我第一次住这家酒店，老板娘待我像家人一样，非常感谢！下次再来昆明的话，我一定还会选择住这里。

The lady who owns this place is lovely!!! As I was arriving at KMG airport at 2 in the morning, she woke up when a kind fellow Chinese called her on my behalf, and she came downstairs to pick me up and helped me with my heavy luggage. She's so kind and the room is so cute, that I decided I'd extend my stay here for almost a week!!! Feels like home. Some of the kids who live here longer are amazing and very helpful as well!!! I really enjoyed my stay

If you just waiting for train or would like to stay for a short period of time and didnt care about the toilet, you can stay here. The toilet is outside, for us its creepy to go to toilet at night due to dim light and we had to go all of us. Overall since we waiting for our train early in the morning, it really helps us in short of time since we can just walked.
