"This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room."

I would stay again, and I'm not usually a hostel type, let alone shared dorms"

"It’s a really nice place to stay with family. We booked two bedroom suite and it was great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We used laundry facilities as well. A word of caution - dryer permanent press cycle makes clothing really really hot - don’t burn yourself. They have complimentary coffee and sometimes little muffins as well. Our flight out of Cairns got cancelled and so I emailed to request a room for extra night, but didn’t get response so booked another hotel. It’s far from the coast, board walk etc but close to one of Indian restaurants in town."

After taking a shower and spending a couple of hours in my room, the guests in another room close to mine were very noisy, shouting at each other and causing a lot of disturbance. I called the reception to make a complaint and within minutes the staff shifted me to another room apologising for the inconvenience. I know that you can't get the perfect guests that you would like to but the fact that they promptly resolved my problem is really commendable and everything else about this accommodation is fantastic."
