Cairns Hotels with Bars

The hotel, Pullman Cairns International, is located across the road from the casino, and is about a 10-minute walk from the ferry and helicopter terminal for trips to the Great Barrier Reef. The rooms are decent; some of the furniture shows its age, while other rooms have been renovated more recently. The mattress is a bit soft, and there's an electric kettle, coffee, and a dining table. There's also a Chinese restaurant and a supermarket nearby, making it very convenient for getting around.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a wide variety of dining options right downstairs. Our family of three booked a suite, and they added a single bed in the living room, which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast selection was also very rich and diverse, offering great value for money! A quick tip: there aren't as many hotels in Cairns as one might expect, and even during the off-season, this hotel's rooms can be scarce. It's best to book your entire stay at once, as trying to extend your reservation day-by-day might mean you won't find availability.

The rooms were clean, but very small with low ceilings. Upon arrival, there was only one small carton of milk in the fridge, perhaps because the room was prepared earlier, for which I'm very grateful to the front desk staff. A big plus is the hotel pool, which has a sandy entrance on one side. However, the pool is shallow, so adults need to be careful not to scrape their feet on the rough bottom. Late check-out is available for an extra fee, which is very convenient if you're traveling with children and have a late flight. The airport is just 10 minutes away. Cairns Aquarium is nearby, and there's a large shopping center three blocks away. The promenade is two blocks away. Overall, it's good value for money, but don't expect perfect cleanliness or service.

Cannot recommend Doubletree and it's staff enough. After spending several months in hotel accommodations throughout the cairns region, this hotel takes first place by a long shot. From the warm cookie at check-in, to the stunning gardens and presentation, the room was spacious and very clean. Every staff member was friendly with truly standout customer service (a rarity nowadays) The manager on duty Luse went above and beyond to assist us, we will be raving about her and her staff to everyone we know for a long time. Not a single fault, and we will most certainly be returning as soon as we can. Thank you to Luse and the staff for a memorable and standout experience, if I could select more than 5 stars I would.

Enjoyed my stay for 5 days. Buffet was good, staffs are friendly and helpful. Some of the pepper mills bit rusty in buffet area.  Room service people works every day ie. cleaning, changing towels and bed making.  Bathroom flushing stopped working, fixed in no time. Taps are bit older version not easy to operate.  Instructions to use the Lift should be displayed in the lift using Room keys, some elderly people were struggling inside the lift as i entering into the lift.  No exhaust in bathroom, so every time fog on the mirror. If we have Shuttle service to the Airport could have been much better considering it’s only 5 to 7 minutes drive. There is a Hotel van standing in front of the hotel but it serves only to the night market.  Overall I will come back.

The room was spacious and well-equipped with a microwave, cutlery, and a fridge. It's super close to both the ferry terminal and Cairns train station. There's a breakfast spot right opposite the hotel and a supermarket nearby, perfect for grabbing bread to heat up in the microwave. The front desk staff were really helpful, even assisting us with booking a taxi. The laundry facilities were fantastic, with large washing machines and dryers. Just a heads-up, the hotel doesn't provide slippers or toothbrushes, so remember to bring your own!

Overall, this hostel deserves 4 out of 5 stars. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the central location and the pleasant atmosphere. The common areas were also modern and comfortably designed. My only minor criticisms would be the noise at night and the somewhat small bathrooms in some rooms. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable overall, and it offered good value for money.

Room was very nice - quite large (note - it was an upstairs room, some on lower floors apparently much less roomy. But lots of small irritations eg the tv didn’t work at least for regular stations although Netflix did. But oh dear the gym is catastrophic / no air or air conditioning and, mainly, none of the workout stations worked at all, certainly none of those which needed to be connected to the electricity. Needs a management uptick.

A well presented accommodation with everything you need. I really liked the front desk hours. They are open till 10.30 pm. The only setback was that the wi fi didn't work.

The only regrettable hotel in Australia and New Zealand. Let me talk about the advantages firstly: it is close to the beach, only a few minutes walk, you can walk, no beach, and the sea water is cloudy. Walk to the city center for about half an hour and there are buses. Besides the disadvantages: the hotel is old, the Wi-Fi signal is often not available, the room is crammed, the kitchen operation table is next to the bed, and you have to be very careful when washing. There was also a striking warning-1,000 fines for triggering a smoke alarm. The swimming pool downstairs was completely unused, with leaves and unknown objects floating in it. The most frustrating thing is that the ants on the wall are all in the tea cup after returning for a while. At night I crawled into my neck! Will not go again.
