Guest UserThe absolute highlight of this hotel is definitely the view. The room facilities are pretty standard, as it's an older hotel. The kids absolutely loved the pool area, especially the slide. In the afternoon, when the tide went out, we could go to the beach and collect starfish, and we saw so many fish! It's a shame we only stayed one night; we'd love to go back again if we get the chance!

Lilia PedejeroMy family and I recently stayed at Crimson for a night, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. My daughter absolutely loved the place, and the only word she could repeatedly say was, “AMAZING.”
The buffet breakfast was outstanding, especially the wide variety of options available for kids. It was thoughtful touches like these that made our stay even more enjoyable. The foam party at the infinity pool was also a big highlight and added so much fun and excitement for the children.
What truly made our stay memorable was the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was incredibly accommodating, warm, and approachable throughout our visit. During checkout, a piece of luggage belonging to a guest from Room 619 was accidentally loaded into our car. As soon as we discovered it, we immediately contacted the concierge, and the taxi driver kindly returned it to the hotel right away.
Overall, we had a truly wonderful and memorable stay at the resort. Thank you for the excellent service and experience — we would gladly return and highly recommend Crimson to others.

DzhentaoThe hotel is located on a private island. Getting there isn't too difficult, but all the main attractions (sardines, sharks, canyoneering) are quite a distance away. This hotel seems to have been designed for guests who don't want to leave it – a small 'Bounty island' vibe. But it didn't quite hit the mark.
The staff here are constantly smiling. As soon as they see you, they drop what they're doing to greet you. During meals, they approach you every minute to ask questions and tell you about the free 'entertainment' planned for the day. Honestly, it's annoying and doesn't match the status the hotel clearly aims for. In a good hotel, staff are incredibly helpful yet discreet. Here, they can't even clean the room without being noticed. However, you can tell they've been trained this way, rather than it being their natural work style. So, if they were trained differently, these young people would significantly improve the service quality.
Also, don't expect quick responses or help from anyone. It's better to go directly to reception and sort things out yourself. That's the most effective way, otherwise, you might drown in a Kafkaesque castle with a British surrealist twist.
The room we stayed in was magnificent in terms of size and cleanliness. The shower wasn't working well, but they replaced it quickly. When walking around the room, the wardrobe wobbles and makes noise, but these are minor issues. I noticed signs of wood-boring insects in the safe cabinet, but didn't see the insects themselves, so they didn't cause any trouble.
Food. The food here is very poor, compared to all the other places I've visited in the Philippines. A hotel aiming for a high rating shouldn't be serving microwaved store-bought pizza at such a price. If the food is cooked properly (grilled chicken breast, for example), it's invariably oversalted or overspiced. Or both at once. I couldn't find a single dish on the menu that was worth its price or genuinely tasty, except perhaps for the scrambled eggs at breakfast. But that's not enough if you plan to stay on the island all day, is it?
Snorkeling costs 1000 pesos per hour for the boat and 100-200 pesos for equipment (each item separate: mask, fins, aqua shoes). The hotel staff claim the equipment is new, but that's not true. Aqua shoes are essentially unavailable in adult sizes (from 40 and up, we found only two old and torn pairs). The coral reef is dying after the typhoon, but there are still beautiful spots, and my wife and I don't regret snorkeling here. Especially since it was the only activity available on the island.
To sum up, this hotel might suit those who want to isolate themselves from the rest of the world for a resort-style vacation with an average level of service but rather high prices for that level.

ZhudamaoshenshengshouhuzheThe hotel is about a 30-minute drive from the airport. While the location is a bit secluded, the resort offers complete facilities, so you don't necessarily need to leave. It boasts a private beach, and right next door is a public beach with a pier, making boat trips and diving very convenient. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but they have a different theme every day, so it doesn't feel monotonous. It's worth noting that the resort doesn't have a tipping culture, which is quite rare for Southeast Asia.

Guest UserThe island was beautiful and we really loved the place. However, I was disappointed with the drone policy. Even though I already had a permit, drone flying was only allowed in one specific area, which did not feel safe because it was surrounded by water. It would be better to provide safer and more flexible flying locations for visitors with approved permits.

VladislavIsaevWe were there with my daughter just for some days and spent to receive PADIS diving certification due to the coach Lin and Head of diving center John, see the Mallball paintful food market and see the local life in seaside. The seawater is clear like glass, plenty of sealife under the leg even close to the beach, awesome surrounding - mountains, tropical vegetation and fancy restaurants and hotels along the beach and of course local boats looking rustic and gorgeous. The food was delicious, staff was friendly. Everything was the best!

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans.
A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash.
The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

This turned out to be an incredible choice for our family; Though it is a refurbished property, the rooms' size is very good. The beach was nice and the most astonishing thing for us was the small rock formation near its beach, which hosted an incredible variety of fish and other forms of life. Just a pair of swimming googles or the snorkeling rental equipment here could get one ready in a matter of minutes from your room. The breakfast spread was good and the 'chocolate hour' in the afternoon was a hit amongst all kids and adults.

Guest UserWe had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at BE Resort Mactan. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and very attentive, which really made the experience feel welcoming and hassle-free. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, perfect for a laid back getaway. One of the highlights is the resort’s small private beach. While it’s not very large, it’s more than enough if you’re simply looking for a peaceful place to unwind by the water. What I appreciated most is that the resort doesn’t feel overcrowded, especially at a time when many destinations are packed with tourists. It made the whole stay feel more relaxing and exclusive.
Breakfast was also a standout… there were plenty of options to choose from making it a great way to start the day. Overall, this is a great choice if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with excellent service and a more peaceful atmosphere in Mactan.

zairahlouWe stayed at Vistamar Resort in Mactan from October 11–13, and overall, it was a wonderful and restful experience.
The facilities are a bit outdated, but everything worked fine. Rooms were clean and comfortable, linens fresh, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The Wi-Fi connection was good, and we enjoyed having free access to Netflix in our room.
Food was okay, and we appreciated the 30% discount for in-house guests at the restaurant. Corkage is allowed without any fees, which was a plus. They even gave us complimentary use of the billiards table for my daughter’s birthday—something we truly appreciated.
The beach was clean and calm, perfect for swimming or relaxing. We hope the beach hours could be extended from 6 AM to 6 PM, so guests can enjoy early morning dips or sunset views. The pool area could use a bit more maintenance, but it’s not a big issue.
Despite some aging facilities, the quiet, peaceful environment made it an ideal place to unwind. We’re grateful for the experience and will definitely be coming back. 🫶🏻
