Best Asahikawa Hotels

"I was quite satisfied with this hotel. It's incredibly convenient, right next to JR Asahikawa Station and the bus terminal. During my stay, there happened to be a food festival downstairs. The hotel facilities are very high-end; the smart toilet was the most advanced I've ever seen! It was my first time staying in a business-style hotel that also had an onsen (hot spring bath). What's more, I happened to visit during their three-day holiday weekend (Respect for the Aged Day), and it wasn't even particularly expensive. I'm very pleased! It'll definitely be my top choice next time!"

"Overall, quite decent. Its location directly opposite the JR station is fantastic. The room was on the smaller side, but the breakfast was delicious. You'll find plenty of shops and supermarkets in the vicinity. During my stay, the JR station plaza was even hosting a summer night market, featuring lots of grilled goodies and beer!"

"Here's a quick summary: The hotel is great, but whatever you do, *do not* book a triple room! Let's start with the hotel's advantages: The location is absolutely unbeatable, right next to Asahikawa Station. There's also a bus information center right next door where you can buy tickets for buses to Sapporo and other destinations. Directly opposite the hotel, you'll find an AEON supermarket and mall, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Seriously, I can't imagine a more prime spot! 😅 The breakfast offers fantastic value for money and is definitely not to be missed! 😋 They serve simplified versions of Genghis Khan BBQ, Asahikawa ramen, and seafood donburi, along with Western options like bread and salad. Oh, and the melon jelly is quite tasty and worth trying. Finally, let me explain why you should avoid booking a triple room. It's essentially just a standard twin room, and the 'extra' third bed is simply the sofa 🛋️. What's worse, the sofa is right under the air conditioner, making it very cold. Plus, there's an LED emergency light that's fine during the day but flashes a green light right in your face all night long. Not wanting my elderly mother and son to suffer, I ended up having to wear an eye mask, but I still barely slept at all. Photo 1: Hotel entrance (The lobby is on the third floor!) "We liked the Dormy chain hotels. Our stay at the Dormy Inn Asahikawa was great. Room is clean, bedsheets & towels were new & fluffy. The onsen is on the top floor & has an outdoor pool very appealing to watch the sky during onsen. Breakfast was superb good. Location is strategic too & walking distance to some great restaurants. Happy & will come back again. Highly recommended."

"When I booked, I saw photos in the reviews of guests enjoying breakfast with a view, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Breakfast is served on the 14th floor, offering an absolutely superb view. The food selection was also quite good, and I didn't get tired of it even after eating there for two consecutive days. The coffee was surprisingly decent for hotel standards; I had two cups every morning. The room itself was small, as is typical for Japanese hotels. However, the upside is that everything is within arm's reach; you don't even need to get out of bed to grab something. The surrounding area is excellent. Being located right on a pedestrian street, you're just a few steps away from shopping and dining."

"This review is mainly for the outstanding cafe / coffee shop in the lobby. The team is incredible. They remember me and how I like my coffee, and even though honey isn't available in the cafe the head barrista guy went and found some for me. This makes me feel really super loyal towards OMO hotels in general. My one note from staying the night is the weird bedding. There is something poking my skin from the inside of the bedding, I don't know if it's down feathers, but even when I'm not moving, there is the sensation of something ”biting” me. I don't think it's bed bugs, which usually leave red marks. But the bedding is weird and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. I absolutely love the cafe, and the lobby in general is like the Grand Hotels of the previous era. It's my favorite place in Asahikawa. If the beds were improved I would always stay here.
