"Across the street from JR Asahikawa station and Aeon mall, which is convenient as a home base when traveling around to other areas. Arrived early and the hotel held our luggage until check-in. The standard double room was snug for 2 people, a bit difficult with 2 large suitcases. The highlight was the authentic and wide variety at breakfast, located on the 12th floor with views of the city and mountains in distance. From soup curry, to poke bowl with salmon and tuna, to traditional breakfast items, everything was very delicious. We enjoyed how fresh and delicious everything was."

"Besides the separate male and female bathrooms, it's very thoughtful that the female shower rooms have an extra password lock, which makes you feel very secure. I tested them and they were all very clean 👍👍. The ground floor houses a restaurant, and the reception staff are quite friendly. The room space is a bit small; if you open two 20-inch suitcases, you basically can't walk around. Another slight drawback is that while the hotel has its own parking lot, it still requires an additional fee, which is the same as the parking lot next to the hotel. The main point is that the parking lot close to the hotel is more expensive than those across the street."

"We decided on visiting Asahikawa last minute and Art Hotel was the only one that truly fitted what we looked for, the pleasant surprise was how they upgraded our room probably because we did a last minute booking and they gave us the triple room instead so we ended up with a pleasant surprise of extra space to pack our luggage’s! The hotel is super clean and also a convenient stop point to visit outskirts as we stayed in Asahikawa but visited mountains, waterfalls & more! Parking is a little complicated, it is 2 buildings away and under times, not a big issue as u just need to cross the road to get to it, simply pay 1000 Yen a day, they will stamp your carpark ticket everytime you enter and exit. The only troublesome part would be the loading and unloading of luggage otherwise it wasn’t much of an issue for us. The city itself has nothing much but the hotel’s restaurant of western mix Chinese modern dining was really good! It is good enough to laze around the hotel & have your meals settled after a long trip. We would definitely be back for sure!"

"We had a fantastic 2-night stay at JR Inn Asahikawa. The location is unbeatable—right next to the station and Aeon Mall, making it a perfect base for our day trips to Furano and Biei. Parking is convenient via the mall car park (¥800/night). Pay at reception, and they give you a QR code—just remember to scan it at the machine near the mall door before you hop in your car to exit. The staff spoke good English and were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Our room had a lovely view, all the amenities we needed (including coin laundry), and we easily visited Asahiyama Zoo from here. Highly recommend—we will definitely be back!"

"This is my second trip to Hokkaido after nine years, and I really loved Asahikawa the first time around, so I made sure to stay there this time, followed by three nights in Sapporo. I originally planned to book a JR hotel but ended up choosing the Y's Hotel across the street, and it was such a comfortable stay! The view was fantastic, and the breakfast buffet was much better than the one at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn where I stayed in Sapporo. Plus, there's an Aeon mall right across from the hotel, so food and drinks were never an issue! 👍👍👍"

"Very professional hotel and the rooms have a cool layout. I love that the windows actually open so you can get fresh air. The mattresses are very firm (good for your back) but the pillows are kind of weird memory foam blocks, so that was a bit awkward. I put a shirt under one pillow to bring it up to normal height for my neck. They are too low otherwise but stacking two of them is way too much, I would suggest putting a mixture of fluffy normal pillows and these memory foam things. Otherwise the hotel is pretty great, relaxed atmosphere, right on the main street and very close to two different Lawson kombinis, and a Mister Donut is literally right next door and stays open late. So you're in a great spot. You can do anything at R Hotels. I felt really good energy and the staff were super professional and friendly. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip."

"A good option for solo skiing in Asahikawa. After breakfast, head to the bus station. I personally think walking to the OMO7 bus stop (about 10 minutes) is better, as you can board directly. If that's closer, you can go to the station bus stop (7 minutes), but you'll have to wait for the bus. The advantage is you can leave later, but the disadvantage is that it might be full and you'll have to wait for an extra bus or sit in the aisle. Free chicken curry rice is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7 PM. New towels and toothbrushes are provided daily. Lotion can be picked up in the lobby on the first floor. Delivery packages (ski equipment, etc.) can be collected. The room is spacious for one person, and economical for two."

"Great experience! It's about a 6-7 minute walk from the station, and there's a convenience store downstairs. The rooms and facilities are relatively new, and the onsen (hot spring) is quite spacious. Breakfast was delicious. There's also a humidifier provided in the room. The only minor downside is that the last entry for breakfast is 9 AM, so I ended up wasting my breakfast voucher on the first day 😂"

"Our family really enjoyed our stay, though the bed was a bit small. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. They offered ice cream and probiotic drinks daily, plus free ramen in the evenings. The hotel genuinely cares about its guests with such thoughtful services. The natural hot spring was also very relaxing; we could enjoy the falling snow on our faces while soaking in the courtyard. We'll definitely stay here again next time."

"Shower had hairs left on the wall and conditioner bottle by previous occupiers when I first checked in. Curtains were a dusty which caused my partner's sinus to flare up. Did not provide much amenities, unlike other hotels in Japan that provide skincare for our stay. No bottled water provided and when asked, counter staffs directed us to the vending machine on level 17 where they charge a small bottle of water for 150 yen. Ended up having to head to 7 11 opposite the hotel to buy water ourselves. Washer and dryer were a nightmare - washer said that detergent would be automatically added but there was no fragrance. Dryer took me a total of 3 hours to dry my clothes and the dryer felt warm (not hot), and the laundry costed me more than 1000 yen in total and a lot of energy. One of the dryer had a sour smell too. Very limited number of washers and dryers and other customers would leave their clothes in there even though the washing/drying was done, resulting in a long queue forming out of the room. Even though staff saw the long queue, she just breeze past until we had to repeatedly ask her to clear the clothes. Some initiative would be nice. Bed was uncomfortable, as the bed will sink after lying on it for awhile, resulting in us arching our backs and causing bodyaches that woke us up multiple times at night from the pain. Only saving grace is the location of the hotel. It is directly connected to a duty free drug store and located a stone throw away from a 7 11."
